Just a hobby channel with fixing random stuff. If you have some questions leave a comment I try to answer all comments. Or write an email to letsfixitgarage@gmail.com
Thank you now I know where to start mine is the 2.0 and had fallen off my table and after that I hadn't worked since but wash works I wasn't able to select cure and I didn't see any blown capacitors or burn marks on any of the boards.
Hi 19:28 you say the head has the side pieces that are not recomended to be taken out as they ahve springs to release the shaving head - one of mine came off when I dropped it, and I cant see how to reattach - pressumably the springs need to be correctly relocated somehow?
I removed my fuse, as pressing it didn't help, and then tried bridging the fuse net endpoints with solder, but now the lights won't turn on. Maybe I was too forceful? Appreciate any advice!
Thank goodness for this channel! Saved me $200 buying a new toothbrush. Confirming, as others have said, that you don't necessarily need to replace the fuse. You can just push on the fuse with a screw driver while pushing the power button and it will come back to life. Thank you so much for posting this video!!
It worked!!! I had a broken USB cable, i cut a short piece and made to wires for + and -. I had a used 9V battery at home. Attached plus to plus and minus to minus and hold them for 10 seconds each. Now they're charging 🎉 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
What do you mean with aluminium elbow? Would suggest to contact your Karcher Service Center at least in Europe they have all the original parts, schematic breakdowns and for quite reasonable prices..
Method of opening very informative, brilliant. Good points raised on different problems and how to fix them. Definately make good and re-use video👍🏻well done, keep them coming.
Thanks for your feedback I am quite surprised how this evolved and all the positive comments.. made few more videos but I'm missing the time for editing.. excuses, excuses... :)
Hi, I have a problem with my toothbrush. If I charge the battery externally, the brush works, but if I put it in the wireless charger, everything turns off and does not charge. Do you think there is a short circuit somewhere and it automatically disconnects when you put it in the charger?
I'm from Russia, for some reason we have such a massive breakdown. Thanks to you, I have learned how to eliminate it. I divide it easier, instead of a fuse, a drop of solder.
do you recommend rinsing the top of the toothbrush to prevent toothpaste from getting in the seal at the top or some other method of stopping toothpaste from getting in?
Best thing that I recommend to everyone whom I repair their toothbrushes is not to let toothpaste to go the handle.. just lift the end of the toothbrush up and it will not go on to the seal or toothbrush itself.. it's a habit so it's difficult to train it if you are used to different holding but I would say is the most effective;) apart from that of course take off the brush head more frequently and clean it. If you have black spots on the seal change it ASAP don't clean it as it will damage it even faster..
I would go with Philips for better repairability as they all break down eventually.. do take note that in the cheapest section Philips has gone one step back introducing motor driven technology instead of their trusty magnetic drive technology, these are not worth it.. additionally if you take care of your toothbrush it will hold longer if no, it will break sooner.. I would not recommend any cheap Chinese for one simple reason there are no spare parts for them..
4:39 You’ve just saved me 100 go pounds. Excellent video & clear advice. All the lights & power were working, it was just the magnet problem as you described. Brilliant! I’m no technical guy but wanted to try to fix it before buying a new one. Just cleaned my teeth!
Any idea on an io6 that fully charges and then keep randomly switching itself off, from 100 percent after a few seconds of brushing then swiyches off and falshes red to indicate battery empty. I have also changed the battery for a new one and it is still doing the same thing?
Difficult to say.. needs a hands on approach to have a detailed look.. check voltages on board, fuses, charging chip or even charger could have issues..
The chisel method worked for me. My pro 1000 toothbrush froze after it was dropped. I had to hammer the metal gear a few times before it broke loose. Thank you very much.
What does it mean if it won't turn on, and putting it in the charger it makes one long beep with orange light, followed by two quick beeps with green light?
First of all o would check the motherboard if it has water damage check all the connections and buttons functionality. Then I would try to check some chips but for that a donor board is needed.. sadly water damage is not easily solvable..
Thank you.. i have a small issue.. i put a new head in my 9350.. and set the gap on the magnet.. went seamless, but now upon assembly, the cup charger distance isn't enough.. meaning i can pull it out the bottom and put it in the cup and it works.. when assembled it does not.. but it works fine in the travel charger.. Note: the cup charger worked before disassembly.. im stumped
Difficult to say.. but you do need to charge it with glas or plastic part on the charger and bottom cap in place as distance is very important for these chargers..
Been I while. I just discovered your video and was able to fix 3 brushes we had at home, with all 3 having the same problem: electro-magnet touching the magnet. Very easy fix, thanks a bunch.
Thanks for making this! Curious as o why do people spend hundreds of dollars on Phillips products that are so cheaply made? Oral-Bs are way better built and cost half as much.
Well new IO's cost the same hundreds if not more ;) as for older ones genius series have a major issue with component quality have a very popular repair video for that but they are more reliable with water seal I have to give that to Braun.. apart from that my personal favorite is Philips Sonicare.. it's quieter and has stronger vibrations due to electromagnetic drive.. save principal is implemented in new Oral-B IO series.. and these have their own issues :) so not one is perfect chose on your own preference but Philips has better repairability if you give value for that ;)
I bought two of these, BOTH had the on/off button fall off. I am extremely careful with my stuff so these must have a design flaw. One fell off around 9 moths and the other fell off around 15 months. I only shave twice per week so these don't even get used much.
Thank you for the video! You have helped me repair a loose head and fix it successfully now 😊 Although, it seems to have brought up another problem, I’m putting my toothbrush on the charger and in the travel charger and the light won’t flash to say it’s charging. It still has power and works at the moment. After I finish brushing, the battery LED flashes. Doesn’t that signal that it has a partial charge? I don’t understand why it won’t flash when I put it on the charger. I’ve taken the plastic chrome piece on the bottom on and off in case bad contact, still the same. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you
Update: I've taken the unit out of the case and removed the bottom plastic silver coloured cap, it now charges. Any suggestion on how to reassemble the unit so it is making proper contact? I also can't seem to just place the unit on the cap without the casing to test it that way :/
Hi what is you toothbrush model? DiamondClean models have to be placed in the glass charger with end cap to properly charge.. additionally maybe the charging coil got damaged during extraction of the insides..
@@letsfixitgarage Sorry for the late reply! It is the Diamond Clean HX9350. I received the new bottom cap and it still won't charge unless I remove the outer casing and place that directly onto the glass charging base. The same applies for using the travel charger. I have deduced that for some reason now, the internal components are not touching the charging cap, and therefore connection is not being made for the glass charging base. What do you think? Do you know a remedy for this problem? I really appreciate your help
Difficult to say.. either charger, coil on toothbrush or charging circuit on the motherboard could influence it.. easiest way is to have second toothbrush and charger to see what is not working..
Everyone who bypassed the fuse have there been any issues? Blown up toothbrush, bathroom, house, city? I just bypassed with blob of solder. I dont have the skill or good enough equipment to solder a new fuse so hoping to leave it. Thanks for the vid got me working again.
That's nightmare scenario :) there is not that much energy in the battery to do that kind off chaos..my gues would be burned toothbrush inside the case doubt that it would escape in to the outside..and if something happens it should happen when you are using it, as it's motor fuse, so you should have plenty of time to react...
Hi, my sonicare does not recharge properly. If I put it on the loading port it flickers but the lights dont stay on and it does not load. Is the battery just weak and needs to be repared or what would you recommend there? Thanks for your help!
95% water got inside. Check my other DiamondClean repair videos with water damage to see where problems usually are belut with water it's always individual sometimes only cleaning with isopropyl alcohol is enough sometimes you need to change chips with hot air station..
super helpful that you hold the thing outside of the frame during critical parts like prying the latches on the inside to release the mechanism! You might have just as well released an audio-only podcast!
Sorry for that it's one of my first videos. Still learning on correct filming :) I do have a separate video specifically for that with an pined comment on top. Here one more time ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-oMVa64Q13HA.htmlsi=bZoz38cm5XnGtgAU hope this helps with opening it.
Hi ...I got the Gardena premium 18305 Spaypistol and it doesnt spray anymore if turned to the left(showerposition) The Inputchannel is clean put the outputside is the problem...how can I open the Front jet Ventil??? Thank you Sir🤘
sorry have not tried to take it apart that far.. I would try to apply some compressed air from outside to blow out any junk if its in there. do press the button for air to flow freely..
both should work. I would go with 2A. 1206 is slightly larger than original so a little bit more difficult to solder it in. 0603 is smaller than original so easier to solder in but more difficult to see what you are doing if you don't have serious magnification..
The head of mine isn’t pivoting and stuck … I’m guessing the head lock is broken or stuck? I’m thinking I might need to send it in for a warranty repair
