Do you crave freshly made food but do not have access to a kitchen? Are you sick of cold sandwiches or afraid to use the dirty shared microwave? Cool Cucumber Cook will show you how to cook a meal with electric lunch boxes like the Itaki Pro or the Hot Logic Mini. Let's start cooking and become the envy of those around you.
I just bought one of these, and the majority of recipes are for the other ones! Are they relatively the same in where you place your food/how to cook? I want to try some of your other recipes, but nervous that they differ from box to box.
Is the top compartment optional? By that I mean does the top lid still latch properly without it? Im very curious about this appliance. I think I'd probably use the bottom two the most but would like to have the steamer available as well. Great video by the way.
Can you show how to cook recipes in the *NEW* Magic Itaki® Smart Bento JUMBO 2.0. It has a timer or something different on it that isn't on the one previously used.
Ramen flavourings. I don't like to use the whole thing myself. So I take the little packets and empty them into a small jar. Much of it goes into the big pots of home made soup. So many yummy looking ramen recipes. Makes me wish that it was better for you. I can try other noodles
One more thing - I noticed that the paste from the ramen packet (maybe not this video) was really hard to get out, Maybe try putting it in a cup or small bowl of warm water first.
I made this for breakfast this morning in my rice cooker. I just had regular ramen so it was a bit bland. It's a good way to use up baby bok choy. I like a big breakfast so I dropped in an egg as well. It's a keeper
I'm going to try some of these in a regular rice cooker. But I might give in some day and buy an Itaki. I have a weakness for kitchen gadgets and it looks great for one person meals
I hope you or someone else can answer a few questions. How long is the cycle or does the food remaining cooking until you press the button? Do you think I can plug this into my car outlet witout an inverter?
The length of the cycle depends on how much water you place where the hot plate is. It will continue boiling as long as there are water. It automatically turns off when the hot plate is dry. When the steam condenses and drips back to the hotplate, it will turn on again. You need to press the button to turn it totally off. Itaki does sell a plug for the car. I have never used it in the car so I am not sure.
I just bought a extra thick pork shoulder steak today on sale, and do not know how to cook it, as the meat is too thick. Now I know to cube it, and cook it using this recipe. Even as I type this, I am eating your beef curry udon noodle recipe that I made with a little minced onion, 3/4 teaspoon sesame oil, bean sprouts, spinach, julienned carrot and shaved beef with a VERY small minced fresh garlic clove, 3/4 teas of ginger paste, a dusting of garam masala over the top, and a small piece of S & B Mild Golden Curry. I mixed about 2 ounces of hot water with a teaspoon of beef broth and the sesame oil, and poured it over the noodles and curry roux brick, stacked the other ingredients on top in layers and used 1 itaki cup of water in the lunch box base to cook it up for 15 minutes. DELICIOUS! ALL your recipes are VERY GOOD AND FUN TO MAKE! I've made at least 20 of your recipes! 👍
Great to know you are enjoying my recipes and customizing it to your taste. In these days of inflationary prices, I feel it is so much cheaper and healthier to cook you own meals. And itaki makes it so much easier too. Thanks for watching my videos and your constant support to the channel. 😊
That looks delicious. May I ask what kind of rice are you’re using, and could I put a bit of cornstarch in with the wings for a slightly stickier sauce?
Would this work if I switch the rice and pork portions or does the pork have to cook in the lower tray? I tend to eat a lot of rice compared to how much meat I eat.
I believe you can switch them up. If the rice can cook on the top tray, the meat should cook as well. Or you can cook rice in both the smaller trays too.
Just tried this today, I added too much water to the potatoes and chicken and the curry sauce was very thin. I did take @gnostie's advice and dissolve the curry block before adding it to the mix. Next time I'll just dissolve the curry puck in 1/3 cup of water and add it to the base. On another note - everyone was talking about how great it smelled and were asking me all sorts of questions about the iTaki chefbox 2, I gave Cool Cucumber Cook a shout out.
Thanks for the shout out. We sometimes forget that meat will release some meat juice as it cooks which will add to the amount of fluid. I prefer my curry thick so I add less water. 😋
