Schwinn is a great bike overall. Yes... They do, come in different sizes. I'm 6'2" and need the 19" the medium frame, is the most common up to 5'8"😊

The bicycle is a durable good, it will last years with only some minor parts maintenance/replacement. What would happen to the BIG BIKE industrial military complex if customers bought a new product every, say, 6 years or so....? Hence the BIG BIKE literally invents new stories regularly - "1by, shallower, longer, shorter, steeper, tubeless, carbon, etc etc" The story is sometimes true, often false. It gets sold to the bike propaganda machine, which then translates into the masses buying the new and "improved" product.

I would definitely recommend Box. Box usually has frequent sales on their products. I just recently rebuilt a Specialized FSR XC that I found used from a lady that bought it but only rode it a few times before storing it in her garage. The grease had hardened and looks scary at first, but I couldn't say no. I used a new crankset and bottom bracket I had from a new Shimano M6100 groupset I never used. I unfortunately couldn't use the rest because of the different hub standard, so I ordered a new Box 3 P9 groupset that was on sale for only $70. That's just too damn cheap to pass up on and it included the derailleur, cassette, chain, and shifter. I cleaned and repacked the hubs and all other seals, and also rebuilt the shock and fork. To my surprise, I had no hiccups with parts working together. It rides like new, and looks amazing!! I would definitely recommend the Box set!

I have ridden 26" hardtail size L(19") frame for more than 10 years without any issues. Recently I bought new Scott Scale 960 2022 model in size L(19') with 29" wheels. The bike is overpriced peace of junk. Very poor build quality and unreliable all-around. The bigger problem is that I developed all sorts of pain - in my knees in my shoulders, and in my wrists...I have used Scott's website for the fitment. I am 183cm tall and it said to buy L, I feel the bike is too big for me. I replaced the stem and the handlebar with no success....

Idk, something is just really satisfying to me about getting a new bike, and putting new better parts on it, the feeling of "wow, this feels so much better than the other ones did" and after awhile the connection that you have to that cheap bike is the kinda connection that's just like "look how far you've come from what you used to be, it's amazing"

Never thought about spokes ! Added to my checklist. On three bikes I owned it was the chainring that was creaking, simply cleaning everything and tightening with thread lock did the job. 1 st time it happened I replaced he bb with a brand new one and I realized it was not related 😩

I went schwinn. Same model as yours. I got an excellent condition fox fork for 150 on market place. I spent 350 on a set of crankbrothers cobalt 11 carbon fiber wheels. The rest of my upgrades came from my parts bin, or flip bikes. I payed 350 for my axum. I have roughly 950 total invested in it, and I love it. I would not get the same quality parts if I went with a higher end bike.

I own a Yeti ASRc and love it, but really wonder if all the weight and complexity of the InfinityLink is worth it. I mean you get a floating pivot that is a maintenance issue and substantial replacement expense for what exactly? Not entirely sure what that little bit of play adds to the handling/feel of the bike. Anyone want to enlighten me?

Stupidly, when I lived in Oakland, I used to hike up and down that trail before once having to jump into the bushes to keep from being killed by a bicyclist. No horn, bell, or even a “bike coming” shout-out. That trail needs to have warning signs at the top and the bottom, maybe even separate hours set for only hikers or bikers? But being back here in Montréal I desperately miss hiking every trail in Joaquin Miller and Redwood Park.

I can easily 3D design amd print something like that for the seat maybe ask a pront company and patient the design yourself same with the chain stay gaurds I'll try it when get my new bike see if it works out prototyping a splash gaurd umbrella that bolted round the seat post and had a reverse taper design would probably work for the seat bolts keeping clean but can also juat make a mould of the seat bolt clamp on the post that a civer screwed around the whole thing make it in 2 halfs with a small quick release clip for access something to definitely look at

Yes! We are riding bikes that are too big for us lol! I purchased a Rocky Mountain Growler just over a year ago that’s a large (I’m 5’10”). According to Rocky’s size chart it’s my size but the bike is enormous for me. It’s a good bike but I’ve never liked it because it’s so gigantic! I finally gave it to my son (he’s 6’3”) and got something that fits me better. I love the slack head tube angle and lower top tube of new bikes, but don’t like the steep seat tube angle and lower bottom brackets at all.

After fixating for two days on what decision to make between a 21 SB115 and a 23 Norco Optic, this video sealed the deal for me 🤙🏼 hung up on the Norco for the color and the local support. You saying the differences between them are so negligible that you should go with the color and brand you want over anything else was the deciding factor 👏 much appreciated. None of the other 100 videos put things into perspective as well as you did.

Personally, the reason I am choosing to upgrade a cheapish 'walmart' bike over buying something new is multifold: 1) I'm preventing (yet another!) bike from going into the garbage needlessly. 2) Working on it and upgrading it myself lets me get in touch with it and understand how it works 3) It's really a beautiful bike and I haven't seen similar elsewhere--there are leather accents all over (including the chainguard! and jacquard-like patterns on the wheel skirt to match. 4) I think it'd be better to find what I need and customize from there rather than pay a huge sum of money up front for something I'm only planning on using casually as a stealth ebike.

How would you compare upgrading a schwinn axum to a schwinn ranger? I have a clearly older schwinn ranger likely a 26” bike. It’s obviously used because it has some noticeable differences from stock features but the gears and shifting mechanism are firsts among the list of needed improvements among changing handle grips and maybe the brakes. What would you think?

Good video...i have two "old school " X-country style bikes and now transitioning to 2 modern geometry bikes - 66-65 head tube angle and 76 -77 seat tube angle. Still not sure which is better yet... agreed 100 percent with this video...which bikes should I post on Craigslist?? In tune with this vid., giving the modern bikes more time after the initial over steering feeling...is that a hidden advantage with the slackers is the due to riding position (more upright) and a more lower, secure feeling in technical stuff), for an older - vet rider, who is not racing...to consider and embrace the new style geometry..
