Gohan does not hate fighting. He developed that “I don’t have to fight cause of Vegeta and my dad” mindset and I was reminded this by watching the Goku Black arc. Trunks had that same mindset when he seen Goku’s strength but mainly when Vegeta went SSJGSS during their training. Gohan fell into that mindset deep to the point he forgets to pick up pan at times. So in my opinion he don’t hate fighting he just looked at it like why? After Kid Buu Gohan ain’t have to fight. Even during the Freezia revival arc he ain’t have to fight he just felt he had too cause nobody(Goku and Vegeta) was getting trained be Whis. The let up see Gohan weak and skinny on purpose just to show us what peace does. If Gohan wasn’t pushed to be a Scholar by his mother he’d been right behind Goku for sure. the thing that pisses me off the most is that let’s be real vegeta is dragon ball’s most alluring character goku is great yes but he’s one dimensional no matter how you look at it he’s still great but there’s not that too many people underlying depth to goku other than the fact that he wants to push himself to be the best which is relatable to everyone hence why we like him so much but vegeta has a way more evolving character arc than goku hell even as a father. Thanos was only concerned for the wellbeing of life within the universe whereas Zamasu was only concerned for the wellbeing of the universe itself. Zamasu was unwilling to destroy even a single planet to achieve his goal whereas Thanos was willing to destroy the entire universe to achieve his. They both thought that the universe was broken. The difference is that Zamasu wanted to fix it and Thanos wanted to replace it.

I can sympathize with Zamasu and still think he's a psychopathic mass murderer. The part where I can't deem him as anything but evil is there is no condition where he spares all mortals, whereas Beerus and Zeno actively need a reason to destroy in the first place and will spare those they were going to destroy if you change their minds.
if anthing you got it backwards, vegeta's instinct to do good, at least in the original db, is his super ego. He clearly shows distaste for how human morality, and kakarot's philosphy influenced him, but he finds himself subconciously unable to reject that influence.
All warriors have a reason to fight, regardless of how simple or deep. Maybe they like the thrill of the fight, maybe they like the mental games that must be played in the heat of battle or even before, maybe they have an ideal they want to see become reality, or maybe they have something they want to protect. This last one, is what I want to focus on. Loving peace is not as simple as being a pacifist, no matter how much pseido-intellectuals tell you that "fighting for peace is hypocrisy". They fail to acknowledge that people don't always fight because someone fought them first. There are people who fight without reason, simply because they can. They will always exist to oppose your peace. So, if you really hold peace as your truest sense of self and duty, then to not train yourself to protect it is a betrayal of all you hold dear. Peace does not exist without those willing to protect it, as peace is not the absence of violence. Violence is the absence of peace.

13:16 This part reminds me of something that happened a few years ago, when my mom died from covid. Her and I were both in an ICU dying of covid, and she passed while I got to live. The night after her death, I had a dream. In this dream I was wandering around a store carrying some of the things my mom enjoyed. I walked up to the first item I saw, a disk copy of an anime she loved, and picked it up. When I thought "She would like this", I heard her voice saying "I can't use that anymore." So, I moved on to the next item, and looked at it thinking "or what about this?", only to get the same answer from her voice. I went through the whole store and she gave the same response for every item i looked at. at the end of this dream, I saw her standing in the hallway, asking me "You know why I can't use these anymore." She dissolved in a flash, leaving a pile of dust and bone that gets blown away by the wind. I personally think this is the moment my survivor's guilt over my mother really started.
Gohan has always been my favorite character in Dragon Ball. Personally, I feel that he, along with many others in the series, suffer from character arcs that ended a long time ago. Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero did not need to be about Gohan. He doesn't need another cycle of getting boosted then getting rusty. Just let him raise his family in the background.

You think ssj2 is a x2 multiplier? It's substantially more than that it magnifies they're power exponentially. With your logic they could have just jumped cell with 4 super Saiyans. No cell was at least 5x as ssj Gohan And then ssj2 Gohan was 5-10 times stronger than cell which would mean ssj2 is like a 15x multiplier at least. Do your homework

Lord Beerus' throws a tournament against universe 12, Videl is the big massive rival that never ends. Freedom Star transformation let's women go toe to toe with dudes and win. At the start Videl knows Freedom Star transformation 1 to 1,999. Videl so crazy over strong that Lord Beerus' and Grand Priest don't hold back getting involved going at this Videl of universe 12
I do wish that they would embrace that Gohan is not a fighter of the same style like the rest. A brilliant idea that fits his personality, would be if Gohan became a scholar that studied energy/ki. Furthering his growth as a fighter, not by brute strength, but by having a higher understanding of energy and using that to make himself stronger. Finding his own more zen way of establishing his power, but still having that rage filled output when the moment calls for it. His life goals could be to understand the sayian race and his human sayian hybrid body that makes him such a bottomless pit of power that he doesn't quite understand.
I don't give a shit, he's a frustrating character (you love him and you start to hate him, then you hate him and you start to love him), it's more fun to see Krillin fighting until he dies, than a power-wielding idiot holding back, while his friends and family members are being tortured and close to dying, no matter the reason... I have difficulty knowing whether I like the character or not, at times he is one of the highlights of the sagas, at others unbearable, the problem is the inconsistency. If he was just a supporting character, it would make perfect sense, but everyone knows that he was a candidate for the main character, in a series focused on power (second part), in Akira's words, on being the strongest, a total waste of time trying replace Goku with a character who doesn't like fighting. Furthermore, I've never seen how intelligent he is, in fights such intelligence has never been useful, in fact he seems like a total idiot, in the series he is always shown as studious and intellectual, but I've never seen anything intelligent.
Damn people read so little now adays, Nietzsche is I think a good way to explain why Zamasu is evil yet Xeno we don't really know. Nietzsche basically points towards the duality of man and that man can rise above the very gods he created himself (morally speaking), best direct example, God punishes a entire city for the sins of a few yet we have devoloped a justice system based upon the individual. Every human (in this case mortal) has the untold potential for both good and evil in him, surpassing often what we once thought acts that only a divine would do. This is why Zamasu is bad, because he cannot see that the very potential for evil that mortals poses is also the source of their potential for good. Now we get little insight on how Xeno thinks, but we do get insights of how Whis views mortals and that seems to be in line with the ability to see potential. tl;dr : Zamasu judges all mortals by the cruelest of a single mortal, at least Thanos weight out the collect acts of individual good vs evil. Hence Thanos is the better written villian.
I think Gohan experienced things that were more aligned with the expectation of a Saiyan of his age. Goku was strong, obviously and faced opposition, but Gohan consistently faced the strongest threats, many deaths of those around him and lots of pain himself. Much more than Goku experienced at his age.
If he hates fighting to the point he refuses to fight back against cell then why does he do image training with krillin and train with Goku when all of that training is just fighting.
I honestly hope the stop with this gohan cycle. He's my favorite character and I'm tired of him getting shafted. Yes, we get it. He hates fighting. But he hates losing his loved ones more. USE THAT! I think gohan could be amazing if they balanced his studies with training.
