Am i the only one not knowing what „sterching“ does meen? (Don‘t even know how to write it) What you did in the end with the julia bag…. Please help me 😂
So nice to have you back :) I saw in the notes that you got some KFO in red currant but I don't think I saw that part in the episode 🤔 I am very excited to hear more about it!! 😍 would you say it's a cool shade of red?
Yes! I ordered some but accidentally left it at home, so I decided to just skip it and talk about it next time! I can’t believe I forgot to take it out of the notes too 🫠 -Jess
Thank you for a new wonderful and inspiring podcast. Love to hear what you are up to knit and sew-wise. Doing my last summer knit - The love letter to my 16-year-old dd.
I wonder if you slimmed the leg of the carhartt trousers if it would give it a more feminine look and give a vibe that a high street fashion designer took inspo from a job site. Could be cute paired with a tight white tee!
Adding lots of sewing patterns to my to-make list after seeing the video! I'll get right on it after I finish knitting the Friday baby sweater I'm currently working on. I also have the rooibos sock yarn and am leaning towards making the petal drop socks with it!
That was a real treat, thank you ladies for sharing, you are so inspiring .It is fabulous to see what you are both working on.Happy knitting 🧶 and sewing 🧵🌺🌺
You two are just so sweet! I get very exited when I see a new video 😊 I also bought a lot of the Into The Woods colourway in Sunday and Double Sunday. Such a great colour. I think I might make an Oslo hat as well but for now I love my Dual Loop Beanie in Double Sunday.
Im not familiar with the purse pattern but sometimes when you switch from knitting in the round to knitting flat, your next row is a different one than if you had continued in the round
I was so happy to see that there was a new episode, you guys are my favorite! I am looking forward to seeing your fall planning video.❤. I think I will try to get back into sewing with a pair of Pomona pants- you have inspired me.
I was thinking the exact same thing @forttud!! My twin is 2 mins older than me and she’ll never forget it! Oh, and I stole her food since I was a few ounces heavier. 😂❤
That was a fun activity, guessing your ages in minutes and I actually guessed correctly, and not for any particular reason - you kind of fall into that stereotype Type A- Type B , but it also is what is great about you both, you are your own persons. Wonderful knitting and the wedding trip sounds like so much fun. Being a quilter, I am really enjoying your sewing - both of you doing great!!🥳❤
I made the same mistake on the book club cardigan but on the sleeve since it’s in the round! I thought maybe I didn’t skip a cable row or something but I still can’t find where I made the mistake for the life of me.
Jessica, put the glass pebbles in the bottom of the pocketbook. Then put a plant in a pot on top of the rocks. The pebbles will keep the bottom of the purse flat. You could put plastic bags around the pot to keep the sides from caving in on the pot. Love your your podcast you both are amazing crafters. Diane from Boston
Just as an fyi I had Timber Yarn dye a special Kansas City Chiefs self striping one time! There are socks on my Ravelry pages. My rav name is TCarter1962 if you’re interested in looking.
I’m also knitting the main coast summer lee socks in an orange Brown colour! And saldly they are also very thight on me but i hope they will stretch out a bit when wearing them :))
I’ve started on my Fall knits. A sweater request as a present. I’m putting a blue, pink, brown and green together and loving the look so far. I look forward to hearing about your Fall plans. 😊
For the bookclub Cardi - Did you start the cable on a different row on the left panel by accident maybe? Eg first one was on row 4 instead of row 2 when you started
I feel like you two would like the gift sock pattern by Ailbíona McLochlainn. It has an integrated heel and it's kind of like a combo of a heelflap and a shortrow heel. I don't think I'm going back.
You can line you bag. I just lined a couple of handmade bags. This way, they keep their shape, and I also put a zipper pocket on the lining. I love your videos
Thanks for another great podcast. I love everything but am really interested in making a Julia bag. I think it's really cute and would just use it as a purse and be careful, or for light shopping. I like that Monday sweater too. What a great colour. Love the sewing you do as well.
I do! The pattern is a 4 row repeat with two rows being stockinette, so when I get to that part of the pattern I knit one of the stockinette rows, then do a German short row turn and purl back, then continue again in the pattern 😊 I hope this makes sense and helps!
Did you see Starlight Knitting Society when in Portland, and Knot Another Hat in Hood River? Starlight Knitting Society is my favorite, Ritual Dyes is great as well. 😊
I’m also knitting the Book Club Cardigan with Purl Soho’s Good Wool held with a mohair! One thing I’ve learned from being in the KAL is that you guys might want to pick up stitches for a bigger size when working the sleeves… that’s what lots of us are doing because the sleeves according to the pattern are kinda tiny and feel a bit tight/disproportionate. Obviously you don’t have to do this, but I just thought I would share in case it’s helpful!
I am ALSO knitting the bookclub cardigan, and also knitting size 2 and am about to join for the body. its oh so fun to knit! Though, mines brown and your geen is making me so so jealous
Omg I made the exact same mistake on my Book Club Cardigan!! It’s driving me nuts but I also have no idea how I made that mistake. I think on one of the fronts when I picked up stitches I just accidentally started the cables on the wrong row. With the cables on the shoulder there’s a really cool modification someone posted in the KAL chat on instagram. I can send the info / person who did it if you’re interested!
Glad you had such a lovely vacation! I’m with you guys, time for Fall projects! I want to make either another Billie with mohair this time, or the Book club cardigan. As for the Maine cable socks- I am finally almost done with mine. I had the same issue with them being too small. I ended up redoing them with a size 1.5US for the cuff and then a sz 2 for the rest of sock. That seemed to work. Now to get past the second gusset syndrome!
Did you visit the yarn store in Cannon Beach? It I so nice. My son lives in OR. And refinished the cannons found on Cannon Beach. It is one of my favorite places to visit.
i grew up in portland and close knit was my neighborhood yarn store (along with twisted, RIP), such a lovely store! they have the prettiest project bags, my mum got me one for christmas last year and i treasure it :))
It was such a lovely store! They had a great selection and it felt very cozy and welcoming when we were there! You’re lucky to have it so close to where you live! ☺️
I hacked the cables on the Book Club Cardigan. Happy to send you my chart amends if you let me know where? Also, I recommend you pick up more stitches for sleeves than specified in the pattern. Some people’s sleeves ruckled because there weren’t enough stitches for the depth of the armscye. Bobbles and Berries described the same thing in her most recent podcast. I think she is knitting size 2 and picked up sleeve stitches as for size 4. I haven’t finished the body yet but think I will do the same. Yours is looking beautiful 😍
Thanks for the sleeve tip! I’ll add that video from Bobbles and Berries to my queue to watch before I pick up the stitches for those. It’s too late for me, but I’d be so curious how you modified the shoulders if you don’t mind sharing! Our shared email is thosetwinswhoknit@gmail, or I have Instagram for dms at jessljacobs 🤗🤍
