4:42 We can also a similar logic to claim that King Charles is a successor to the Mongol Empire through the Chagatai line’s connection to the Mughal Emperors of India and Britain claiming that title after deposing the last Mughal Emperor after the Rebellion of 1857.
How is it anti-Semitic to say modern Ashkenazi Jews could possibly be descendents of the khazars??... Wtf?! The two main people that brought this topic to somewhat mainstream attention are both Israeli Jewish authors..
Didn't see it mentioned in the video but the character Sven Kolsson, who is Duke of Östergötland in 1066, is the aforementioned "Blot-Sweyn" who'd take over Sweden and reaffirm the riksblot. He is also interestingly enough shown as the progenitor of the Sverkers, who would later become the royal house of Sweden for a period in the 1100s. It's also said that Blot-Sweyn is the progenitor of the House of Eric (named after Saint King Eric of Sweden) who would be house Sverkers main rivals concerning the Swedish throne during the 1100s.
Another interesting fact is that there's an unlanded courtier named Ingevald who is of the house of Bjälbo. This character is presumably based on the historically questionable "Ingevald Folkesson" who is said to have been the father of Folke the Fat, the historical founder of the (later) royal house of Bjälbo and thus the progenitor of Birger Jarl, the founder of the capital city of Sweden, Stockholm, as well as according to many historians Sweden itself due to his centralization efforts during his effective rule of Sweden as Jarl of Sweden.
8:10 there's no evidence for a Celtic invasion in the iron age. It couldn't have been done by the bell beakers since that was too long ago so the most likely scenario was during the late bronze age when england received a bunch of migrants. Ireland or Scotland never got these migrants so the Celtic language could've spread through trade

Your intrepetation of the malikshah is wrong. Sure that arabs use Malik as King or more precisely as overlord. But in the naming context it reffers to the root meaning, owner. So his name is more grandour claiming to be owner of Kings as arabic lack the word emperor. Also khorasan is pronounced in the same way as Khan. The gutural sound most of us middleastern love to fiddle with.
One thing I noticed a few years ago about the history here is that this time period from Basil II’s reconquests onward showed an interesting trend where some themes that were previously under constant threat from mostly Arab or Slavic (‘Rus) raiders had been converted into civilian administrations under “krites” instead of strategoi, doux, or katepanos.

Well in reality in they are five Khalifa the fifth being Hassan Radi Allahu the fourth Khalifa son and Khalifa is not Emperor the emperor is Allah Khalifa is more like a viceroy I know this because I am Muslim I suggest brother from Adam so it will be great if you become brother in Faith also read open your heart and your mind about Islam and learn😊 and one more thing in Islam and in other religions the age of marriage is When You puberty mature which differs from person to person some people mature at 9 some at 10 the maximum age in which is a child does not hit puberty and should be considered a a grown man or a woman is the age of 15 so his marriage is not a child marriage Prophet Muhammad married our beloved Mother Ayesha at the age and she was 6 and had sexual relationship with her when she matured at the age of 9 no matter what the European Muslims see and try to change her age think still her age her real age was She was married at the age of 6 and sex with the prophet at the age of 9 when she matured because I have heard from a scholar my teacher that you can marry before puberty until she reaches puberty which she can at the age of 9 and if the max it will be 15 after that she will be considered a mature women or man
I understand your points, but as you've said the germany in game is effectively the HRE and called germany so as to not be confusing with rome and an easy way for casuals to understand who they are. They shouldve added a bismarck alt leader with militarism as his buffs to differentiate the two, but i think it was well done in that context
Southern italy and inner anatolia were predominantly Greek. I think its a case of the actual cultures being unknown so Greek being used as an estimate. For example even the armenians in Cilicia would have had alot of Greek influence. The population there had been Greek speaking for a very long time too. As for it being Greek and not Roman. Thats because the east was never really Romanised fully. Greek was already there and had the respect of the Romans so it stayed.
Honestly, i hate Paradox for this game. They just forgot about Ukrainians (me) and Belarusians. Firstly, empire, that should be named Rus is named russia and the coat of arms is two-headed eagle. BUT on coins of Rus we can see trident as emblem. Here it is. commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Coin_of_Volodymyr_the_Great_-_II.jpg And russia is how Greeks called Rus and not how its inhabitants. Secondly, cultures are so incorrect. In IX century start, as you said, there must be lot of different cultures. And in 1066 Rus also must be divided because country in Middle ages is just property of one guy. It can have lot of different cultures and anybody care. And Rus had. There was 2 big cultural centers: Kyiv and Novgorod. So, culture there was different. Also in 1066 there was that one other city Polotsk. Since Polotsk was not ruled by Yaroslav's descendants, but by another son of Volodymyr, it was also separated from other principalities. So I think that there must be 3 cultures: Ruthenian, Belarusian (or Polotsk) and Novgorodian. And yeah, Rus must be as one state, ruled by Iziaslav. And Polotsk must be seperatet. And russia is not Rus. Yeah I know that I told almost opposite but Rus is Rus and russia is second name of Rus that was stolen by Muscovites. Just look on old maps or remember the name of the voivodeship of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth with its center in Lviv. And Lviv is VERY not close to moscow. And if the logic of moscow propaganda prevailed here, the Ruthenian Voivodeship would be called Smolensk or something.
Also a good reason for the Prussians being so militaristic, they had enemies all around them during Fredrick II's era. He is better known as Fredrick The Great. And once again the Prussians became more militaristic during and after the napoleon wars, not wanting to ever be that weak again. So really it was a survival strategy. But that doesn't mean Prussia only used the army for survival use just look at the partition of Poland. Poor polish.
Yes, technically Ruthenia is an exonym for the rest of the Rus, but in practice, it was actually the name for the newly formed catholic kingdom formed in the west of Ukraine at the time. The fact that an exonym is used refers to the fact that it joined the catholic sphere of influence rather than the orthodox one, so the name that catholic Europe referred to it as is the one that stuck.
