the back guy line you say people are having issues with is a easy fix just use a tracking pole and if you havn,t got one just use a branch or something so the guy line is getting pulled out higher i havn,t got my bobcat yet because i have only just sent for it last night but try that just a thought
Yes i have just bought one on Ebay tonight for £89 little deer but im pleased i got it and especially after seeing this video even more pleased. I bought a naturehike cloud peak 2 but it said it was a 4 season tent but having got it although don't get me wrong i love it but im into my winter wild camps and my other tents are the eurohike tamar 2 and mountain warehouse so this will definitely do me for that so thanx again for the tips in your video and ill let you know what i think when i get it. Oh and im about 5/8 and about 140lb so it should suit me dwn to the ground 😊
Top job mate, you won't be disappointed. Yeah the cloud peak is a good tent just definitely not a 4 season. It certainly can't take too much wind. The Bobcat on the other hand... get some ground anchors and pitch it with the pole into the wind and your laughing
@@AntSurviveTheNight yes ill remember that mate another thing you can do with the tent is were its only got one guyline each side put another two on it and nothings movin that then thats what im gunna do with it when it comes friday and get out in it aswell not only that got myself a new insta 360 x3 camara so itchin to get out
You may want to check your owners manual if you haven't already. You should be able to disable the throttle in the settings, or set it to do no more than 3.7mph which is actually legal to have. You're limited to only riding in daylight atm which will be a pain in the winter. It looks a perfect little bike for commuting around the town, not sure Leon is going to fit on the passenger seat but it'd be worth a try.
Thanks Si, I was under the impression that it was any throttle so thanks for the heads up there. With the throttle on this model it doesn't reach anywhere near 3.7mph, it's there to help set you off but you barely feel it. Haha yeah Leon is already asking for a backy 😆. Yeah I'm loving it. I'm gonna head off to Manchester on the train for a buzz round so that should be interesting.
You started in Beirut (gilnow) for the trail and yeah we always avoid that start now due to how rotten it is down there and go from tudor avenue side of the cemetery and past the garden centre. Them steps are a killer. I usually have to carry 3 or 4 bikes up and down there as the girls are weaklings. 😢 Both them hills are steep so it did well. Definitely good for commuting in better weather
Cheers for having a watch Phil. Yeah it's dog rough down there, mate share this video with your local councillors just to show him how bad it is down there. They might get their act together and clean it up for us. Yeah we normally join at the garden centre too pal. It would be handy if there was somewhere else easier to join but I don't think there is. Haha that will keep you fit then pal haha. Yeah killer hills them aren't they. I'm loving the bike mate, more adventures to come I'm sure. Thanks again pal
Haha thanks Leon, not sure even you would fit on the back, it's really small haha! Yeah Victoria Road is a beast, nit as much as Smithills Dean though lol
Thanks Mark, there's an offer on this model at the moment mate and to be honest it's not as expensive as say a normal mountain bike, yet if you are as fit like me it's that added help. They are great as it gets you out doing some major distances which builds you up and gets you fit without completely exhausting you. Thanks mate, yeah I'd have never made it on a normal bike lol.
Beautiful spot for a camp Ant . I've got a paraffin stove that burns the same as yours very hot . I am looking forward to the Scottish Adventure can't .
Hi Tarmac, thanks matey, yeah it's always a relaxing place to pitch up mate. Yeah man, the Hornet 2 is awesome and very, very light. Yeah me too, I've received the pack raft now so off out testing the kit next week. Thanks as always matey
Great camp lads and very impressed with your meals, water system, although not too fond of your new mat and I don't rate your colleagues.lol. would you use your lightweight gear in the colder months or will you be reverting back to the 1.9 bobby. I really like this gear. I don't use poles(especially not 45 squid)😂 but I only carry them for the bobby mods. The tarp is a great addition so I don't have to keeping packing up my chair at night as the porch ain't big enough. Leon filled his boots on that jerky. 😂😂. Keep up these good down to earth camps chaps
Hi Andrew, thanks buddy! Yeah I'm chuffed with the meals myself mate, turned out ace! Haha me either, quite an uncomfortable nights sleep to say the least. No mate, I'll be back using the original for sure but as I say, great for summer! Poles are a must for me now, mainly for mountains, they help with my knees and back you see. Yeah man, that tarp is absolutely ace! Yeah precisely, everything apart from electronic equipment can stay outside. Haha! 10 out of 10 for the jerky, I was chuffed! Thank you matey, a lovely comment Andrew
Those dehydrated meals are great. Definitely going to come into their own on extended trips where you're carrying multiple days worth of food. Nice one lads, atb Rick n Billydog
Cheers Rick, yeah man this is a whole new exciting time for me, love it when you persist with something and it finally pays off. There's be a lot of trial n errors leading to this 😆. Yeah 100%, I would like to get into multi day hiking and this is gonna help loads mate. Thanks for watching 👍
Great video, Ant. You're really developing a nice style with these edits. Good to see you and Leon out testing some gear and enjoying some nice meals 👍
Hi Benny mate, thank you sir! Ahh that's very kind, I want my own style, it's taken me 7 yrs to find it 😆, I appreciate your kind words buddy. Thanks matey, it really was needed this camp, been a tough few weeks. Thanks again pal
Hi Borky, thank you! Yeah I'm really impressed with how it all looks and the coverage it gives you, lots of room. Yeah, you gotta have a curry on a Friday night lol. Thanks pal
Would recommend grabbing some mylar bags and just pouring boiling water into there to rehydrate, saves on washing up 😅 Can't say any of my dehydrated meals have come out looking that good mind, looks phenomenal!
Hi Nick, yeah I was talking about these bags with Ginger. They definitely are a good idea. I'm heading on a Scotland adventure very soon so these are a must I'd say. Thanks mate, I appreciate that, I've made a good few meals now and this was the first I've taken out and hydrated, I was super impressed pal. Thanks for watching Nick
Curry for tea and BLT's for breakfast..... the food of kings. 😃 Great to see the dehydrating was a success too. We've taken to vacuum packing most of our stuff in the freezer, and it's amazing the space it saves. I also take it with me on my camping trips, and whilst not as light as the dehydrated option, our home cooked boil in the bag meals taste much better than anything Wayfarer can offer 🤣
Haha oh yes Ivan, for sure! Yeah thanks man, I'm loving it, got quite a few meals done now mate. Yeah we are doing the same, it saves on so much room doesn't it. Yeah why not mate, still good because it's packed down. Oh 100% it's better
Oh mate I've been cranking out different dishes with it and the hope was that it would have turned out half as good then I'd be happy but I'm 110% happy now lol. Midge wasn't too bad mate, they liked Leon more lol. Good to see ya too pal 👍
Great location mate, and those filters look superb 👍🏻 That tarp makes a big difference and as you are on the rainy side of the Pennines, I reckon you will get a wet weather test done in no time..! Atb, Paul 🙏🏻🔥
Hi Paul mate, thanks buddy, it's great up that way, not too far from home which is crucial at the moment. Yes Paul, they are blumming good, every confidence in it. I'll show it off more next time I'm out. Yeah definitely mate, it just gives you that extra working space and when it's chucking it down it's definitely much needed. Haha me too pal. Thanks man
I dehydrate every meal...some would call it burning. Nice new kit there mate, I like the filter may have a look at that sometime. I've no idea what YT are playing at but your video didn't register at all on my feed, even though I have clicked the bell. In fact all of the smaller channels I now seem to have to search for. Which may account for my views being cut in half. Hope you are well mate.
Lol na, you do ok with your food pal don't ya! Thanks mate, it really was good to get out as things haven't been good so this camp was needed and to have some new kit to show helps keep my mind off stuff dude. Yeah the Epic Water Filter is just like it says on the tin, EPIC!! haha! Yeah I always have trouble with the YT app mate, missed lots of comments, I missed yours on a video a bit back, it was only through Leon commenting back to you that I saw it. Thanks pal and good to hear from you
Proper good video mate despite your visitors. I was out the other night over Darwen Tower moors, one tent was already there somewhere I had thought about, I just walked a further 20 mins over a crest and tucked myself away. Personally I don’t want to look or see another tent or hear anyone, but I also think about OTHER people who aren’t camping do they want to see a mass of tents together? No! Where are you from Ant? I’m also an Ant 🤣 cheers mate
@@AntSurviveTheNightahhh just down road pal I live in Blackburn, born n bred, but just trying explore what’s on my doorstep for little bit this year with some lakes and Peak District stuff thrown in. Might see you up n about one day, I’m looking at Pendle hill camping next weekend
@blank-dr2kx ahh good stuff matey. Yeah there's loads on our doorstep isn't there. I've venture and completed a few camps in the Lakes but I'm just learning the Peaks which is fun! Come say hi if you see me pal
Hi Ted, yeah they really are something else aren't they pal. So many old haunts around me, I love it too pal! Haha! Most hot dogs over here are in jars, there is a hand full in plastic packaging. How are yours packaged matey?
@AntSurviveTheNight all vacuum sealed in plastic film over here........here's a strange question but I'm just curious.......do you guys watch the Nathan's Hot Dog Eating Contest over there?
@tedwiley8215 ahhh right yeah qe have a few vacuum sealed ones here too pal. No but I'm going to look now! I like watching stuff like that. We watch a guy on RU-vid called Beard Meats Food, he's very good!
@AntSurviveTheNight 😄 we watch Beard Meets Food every week too. Check out the hot dog eating contest...it's an absolute scream. I think the record is like 75 dogs by Joey Chestnutt.
Hey! Nice video I'm planning to go bike packing across my country for 10~11 days. And I'm focusing on weight and compaction. In this case, would you recommend it? or still no? (I'm 6ft)
Hi there! Thanks very much for watching. Oh sounds like a great adventure your about to have, where you planning on going out of interest mate? At 6ft I'd definitely stay clear of this tent. Depending on your country and if OEX ships to it or not, I'd recommend the Bobcat 1 it's a fab tent. There's also a ultra lightweight version of it on sale now too. Good luck on your adventure!
Whenever I'm outdoors, camping or not, it's a flat cap for me 90% of the time (I have everything from thin cotton ones to insulated tweed ones) and then just a beanie for the colder weather. Though I do have a very very thin baseball cap for the really hot and sunny weather. Not that we see that very often 🤣
I carry 2 hats when im camping . A nice soft warm beenie for evenings and sleeping . And a light weight folding cap for day time to keep the sun off my dome head .both stuff into my hip belt pockets .
