I believe part of the reason why it seems like Lily and Haewon can engage their chest effortlessly and with confidence is what Lily said in an interview. They "always sang in dance practices", they learnt from a very young age that stability was better with the chest locked in and the diaphragm supporting the voice. Sullyoon also has incredible support while dancing and has no issue engaging her chest. Bae even though she's a less proficient vocalist also has this ability but on a much narrower scope. I'm not sure Nmixx has the best range, agility, tonality, dynamics etc. But in support/stability they are redefining the standard of the entire industry, I wish more people would be aware of their talent.
It's a crime to not include TVXQ, Shinee, Shinhwa, and CSJH The Grace here, especially Lina. She's best female idol in term of skill alone. Her E5 in My Everything always be the best E5 in K-Pop history.
I really hope belift focuses on Minju’s vocals more, she could honestly be a monster vocalist with more training…but alas HYBE is not very good at vocal training :( I hope her vocal talent doesn’t get wasted
idk if it might count because they haven't debuted yet and aren't kpop, but Lara from Katseye is a really strong hybe vocalist too, she can swiftly shift between her chest, mixed and head registers and due to her leaning on r&b she can do vocal runs effortlessly
I remember how ppl used to praise Le sserafim for their vocals. They were always praised for their live vocals.... What happened now? What's with all these hate and criticism how did they go from being the best to the most hated.....
Might be out of topic, but some people need to understand that just because some idols have bad endurance/stamina at singing while dancing, it doesn't necessarily mean they're a bad vocalist. I'm laughing my ass off seeing people saying that Chaewon is a better vocalist than Yunjin just because Chaewon is more stable at performing.
I think yunjin has one of the worst vocal tones in k-pop i can never seem to enjoy her voice after hybe fucked up her voice And minju sounds like she sings from her nose like she is holding in her voice Overall i like jiwoo and hanni more but that's personal opinion
This is where I disagree with the kpop vocal stan communities importance on supported ranges. To my ear, Hanni sounds the most relaxed and with the healthiest technique. Sure, Yunjin and Jiwon have "stronger" voices probably cause they take slightly deeper breaths but does it reslly matter when almost everything out of their mix sounds tight, throaty and overly pushed thru the nose? Idk, just food for thought. I understand yunjin and Jiwon use more chest voice and the optimal technique is big, huge resonance but Yunjin and Jiwon are so far off from that and truthfully all 3 of these girls are below average (still love their voices tho and Yunjin is my queen) which makes me think that Hanni's headier voice is still valuable compared to the other two who make me tense up myself just from hearing their belting.
I’ve mentioned that Hanni definitely sounds the most relaxed and that everything does sound easy for her which is something good. But you can’t really say she can do more with her voice when she hasn’t even attempted to go bolder or cover ‘harder’ songs. I don’t just focus on support since that term isn’t even used in my classes , it’s just an easier way for kpop stans to understand the concept of breath management and airflow. If we look at all of it, the most well rounded vocalist is most of the time the best. So Jiwon who has stronger management ect is personally for me the best. Although this video isn’t a fact, you can still disgrace soo I like to hear an opposing opinion !
I think this but with Liz and Winter though, a video from Ani’t no other fan had me thinking and when compared Liz overall mix I would say is more better technically than Winters. Winter has a better supported range sure, but Liz seems more relaxed and comfortable on notes that Winter seem to have issue with nowadays her C5 are better but it was a hit or miss while maybe she never supported one Liz was for the most part pretty relaxed there from what I’ve seen.
@@user-sm5tn6xb1u the problem with kpop stans is they base singing completely off of support range. if you put liz and winter in the same room, liz has better agility, better range, better breath control, more stability, etc. but because she doesn’t support as high people consider winter better
yasss jiwon recognition !! i really hope she trains with a vocal coach outside of hybe because she’s already a decent vocalist but has a plethora of potential
Jiwon is such an exquisite emoter as well. Really connects to the audience well. Edit: I can’t tell at all who is who in that final tier ranking lol I can see NMixx at the top and Everglow at the bottom and I can’t identify anyone else
@@Exonorm27 i didnt recognize the faces either or sumn….im too obsessed w kpop…. these are 4th and 5th gen so i could mpstly get them based on member count, and ive seem majority of these covers each 10x :)))
I even wrote current four~~ buuuuut deeep down i wish pristin was sOmEhOw included lmaoo i wish they lasted longer… they wld be 7yrs today….. Ohhh and GFRIEND obvvv
honestly new jeans needs more difficult songs or covers to really tell anything 😭 hanni's relaxed approach has less cord closure (new jeans songs dont require her to do anything more than that) whereas hayoung has shown to have a solid chestier voice with some tenseness and strain especially in higher areas
