My doctors have been telling me that I have AS for about a year now. I feel like I’ve been in denial about it for entirely too long. A few days ago I was launched into the worst flare up I’ve had to date and it has proven to me that my doctors are right about it. Looking back, I’ve had symptoms of this all the way back to my teens. I just kept pushing through the pain. Now, pushing through the pain isn’t working anymore. I don’t know you, but I feel like I know your story and your pain all too well. I’m sorry that you’re going through this too. I know how isolating this can be, but you aren’t alone in it. Have you considered transcranial magnetic stimulation, cerebrolysin, or propranolol? Interesting anxiety treatments. It does seem strange that a chronic illness would be initiated by an accident like that. Theres a great exercise for carpal tunnel which may give you relief. You take some rubber bands or preferably an appropriate wide jar of empty protein and open your hand inside of it with comfortable weight. You undo the lid and push your fingers just on the very inside of the top until your forearms burn. This works the extensors which are commonly underused for those who play guitar a lot or type a lot or do any gripping, hand closing movements.
Hey Shayley, I totally understand where you are at right now. It's like being blind sided and feeling like what is the purpose. I have Graves Disease and Lupus (both autoimmune diseases) and a heart condition due to them. I have had two organs removed and will be on medication for the rest of my life and no cure. Pain meds I refuse to take as well, my mom died from pain meds, they terrify me. I know it sucks right now. But the anxiety and pain, and exhaustion get better. Maybe not better, but you learn to deal with it better. If you ever need an ear. You don't know me but I've been there.
I have the same diagnosis Ankylosing spondylitis. I was in ar accident been down hill ever since my only different was my blood work came back serious anemia. Pain meds for me is best for me with anxiety is methadone I don't feel anything mind altering to me .Last all day . It is constant

Please don't give up hope! As someone who's going through the hell of an autoimmune disorder I know your pain too well. Doctors are so brutal, I was told the same thing about things getting worse and you know what? I always remember that it's possible for the disorder to go into remission. Don't lose hope and keep doing all the little things that can have a compounding effect to improve or prevent symptoms from getting worse. I'm wishing you the best!

Hey, my Brother, I Love all you do and appreciate you more than you know. Your music has helped me through very difficult times but anyways I highly recommend that you get multiple opinions and look into different diets like the carnivore diet, keto or just all strictly natural diet. I've heard that these have helped cure all kinds of things that were thought to be incurable or without resolution. Hope this information helps and at least give it a chance you never know, right? I had a lifting injury moving heavy conduit. My nerves get so inflamed some days I can't walk or strum my guitar properly. Even my breathing changed and I can't sing like I used to. I was going to upload more videos as a content creator but I missed months at a time going through treatments and that's not content it just sucks to go through. It's like my entire channel is about how I used to be pretty capable at things. Now I endure treatments from questionable doctors. I don't know what I will be doing but I sure miss playing my guitar and finishing projects. I got one inflamed nerved popping out the side of my tailbone these last few months. I am hoping to god the next doctors I see have a better plan than auto immune treatments. I have had a creative song writing block since things got very bad the last few years. I'm not here to rant about my problems though. I just get it and most of my friends and coworkers didn't understand what was happening to me. Also, I haven't been able to sit in nearly a year. I use a standing desk all the time. Almost did an unboxing review on it but not feeling well.

Hey Shayley, it's by chance I got this video in my feed, but I'm thankful it came around nonetheless. I too am an artist, creative, and suffer from A.S. all the same. Saying I resonate with everything you say throughout the video would be an understatement. In a 'it takes one to know one' kinda way, I hear it in your voice, your cadence, the way you describe it all in general. I'm right there with you. I'm 24 now, and got my diagnosis at 15-16. My doctors too, could not figure out what was going on in any way, shape, or form. I had two spine surgeries and had to go under for some other non related things too as the years went on. I've been on infusion treatments, various regiments since then too. I was doing well for a good while!! I got a very good chance to pursue music full time, and I leapt at every opportunity I could, trying to make my dreams, a reality. I hate to say I've had to abandon those 'dreams', I still create, make music, and interact with my overarching community of artists but, I'm sure like you know. It's hard to be active in the creative world when you have not only your body to battle, but your mind. Like we both know, this may just be 'Us' to say the least. But it doesn't mean it's all we are. I love that you have art as do I, right there with you. It's truly the only way I can get out of bed and on the worst it's the only thing that can soothe it. Be well, be safe, and keep creating. Hey Shay, I feel for you man. I myself struggle with OCD and Anxiety. You should seek a therapist who specializes in treating anxiety specifically. ERP Therapy as Well as ACT therapy can be really beneficial when struggling with anxiety and panic. Stay strong brother you got this
