Hi! Welcome to the Own Your Moment Co RU-vid Channel. My name is Nicole and I own and operate a photo booth business based out of Florida. When I first started out, I struggled to find information on how to be successful in the photo booth business industry. It is my passion to use everything that I've learned along the way to share it with others and inspire them to start their own businesses. Thank you for being here and I look forward to getting to know you in the comments!
I did a secret shop of local photo booth businesses and was shocked at how low some prices are out there. We won't compete on price, we have a value proposition that we sell.
I just did an event yesterday and I was using ipad pro and touchpix software. Touchpix has a small box for airprint and you have to go into settings wifi and change the wifi over to touchpix so it will print. My question is how do I get a internet connection while the airprint is hooked up to internet on the iPad? Do I need to use something else to make it work? I want to be able to print and for the client to be able to send pic to their phone or email. Thank Steve
I perform music and DJ. Gathering info on doing this too. I hate outside events. The elements especially sudden rain, wind and overheating. Outside is a challenge at times.
I just purchased my first Photo Booth (guac and chips), and I’m excited to start. Thank you for the tips. I hope to see more videos regarding this Photo Booth.
Thank you for sharing the information. I am interested in starting a photobooth business with my daughter,. I am in the beginning stages of selecting a booth and business setup portion. i really appreciate your video
Oh no! Haha sorry to throw you for a loop there! Taking some time to reflect on your goals can definitely help here. Who are your ideal clients, what is their budget, how quickly do you want to scale, all of those can help you find your answer. If you want to be hands off - salsa is the easy answer. If you already have a network and clients - you could do well with guac. Starting from scratch with no prior experience- salsa.
Do you have another video showing your process of sending the client proofs and confirming everything with the client? I know you mentioned it in the video. Thanks!!
Hi! Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge. I was wondering if you’ve ran into issues with guests ignoring the maximum prints allowed? I have different packages and some only have a maximum of 4 prints allowed. How do I make sure they don’t over print if I leave the booth for guests to be charge of.
This is one of the reasons I don’t do prints for drop off booths! However, in salsa there is a setting in the printer settings that you can select a maximum printing amount per session.
My contract says one per person in the photo. If there are 4 people, we’ll print 4 prints. There’s only so much your printer can print (each print can take 10-15 seconds) so you can do the math on the cost per print per minute etc. and that will be your max (because you’re not going to be printing non stop as it takes time for the guests to get situated etc)
I currently have the iPad 10th gen and I am looking to purchase a salsa booth and also a printer to print my photos should I trade in my current iPad and get the new pro? Would it work with the salsa Photo Booth?
Hi Nicole, My wife is starting a photo booth business and is about to order the Salsa booth. I had a couple of questions. 1. Is printing photos a popular add-on, or do most people prefer digital prints? 2. Is the audio guest book worth it? has it proven popular? 3. She was thinking of starting off with drop off service; has that been popular in people's homes?
1. This all depends on your area and how you market! For me it’s 50/50, but for some others prints is what their clients want most! 2. Absolutely! 3. Checkout my videos on drop offs. I’d make sure I’d have really great contract, insurance, and clients before doing “at home” drop offs. My preferred client for drop offs are corporate
It sounds like for a first booth of a one-(wo)man-band company, Salsa is the way to go? I think my budget is pushing me in that direction, anyway, but I’m feeling like Salsa is a good entry point, then upgrade to Guac would be the move regardless of budget. I’m likely going to be making a purchase before your comparison video comes out, but I’ll definitely be checking it out.
Hi Nicole, thank you for all the information. I am in central FL and my wife is in the process of starting a Photo Booth business. I am thinking of starting out doing drop off. Is the Salsa booth overkill? Should she just get a cheap one off Amazon? She would like a tool less one to make putting it together easy.
The salsa is perfect for drop offs. Checkout my videos on them! It’s what I use! If you’re charging for a service, you definitely need a product that comes with support when the inevitable technical difficulties arise. They have the best support available
