Welcome! I'll share what entails with the whole lifestyle of fitness with a DIY gym twist. I'll show how to build gym equipment, create unique setups, workout routines, meal prep, body recovery and anything else that a DIYer will do!
@@ajs.m929 You are correct. I was so excited and impatient that I wanted to see if I could get away with not waiting that long and it didn't leak one drop. Not the best example but yes you are correct 😂
@@ProflexFitness You are too kind my good sir. I wish, but I'm neither of those. My first video on this shows how you can get this for about half price which is still quite expensive. I'm looking at this as an investment in keeping my body as healthy as I can and sharing the experience and durability. You're more than welcome to come give it a spin! 😁
@@SelfBuilt well the Maestro LE (with touchscreen) has wireless smartphone charger, smoother operation than the previous model, and calf, bridge, knee, and heel massage. The Maestro LE 2.0 massage chair features voice control, muscle tension detection (AI), and more auto massage modes.
Nice video! I am not a DIY guy and I live in an apartment. I got rid of the dining room table and put in a very small gym. Part of that gym is a smith machine with a lat station attached. I am thinking of upgrading the lat station pullies to aluminum. I wasn't sure if the Amazon pullies would be good enough quality, but I guess they are. Thanks for the info!
@@shaned7793 Thanks man!! Switching a dining room table for a gym is dedication! 💪 Yes the Amazon pulleys have been great and still holding up just fine. I wish you the best and am here for you if you have any questions! Thanks for watching! 😁
@@RonMexico527 I haven't done much squatting with it. I've only played with 135 so far but I've done leg press with 225 and it's been soooo much better! The guide rods still flex when you get heavier but I don't feel the binding happen anymore. Just consistent and smooth 😊
@@RonMexico527 it used to get in the way a lot. It would be uneven, unstable and feel like it would snag. But now even if the bars flex the weight is still smooth and precise.
@@petrovichluzhin Thank you! My adjustable dumbbells are exp power blocks and horse stall mats for flooring. I love them both! I have a more in depth video about my dumbbells if you want to check it out ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Hive8FKLE-c.html
Insane prime day sale on these right now, base set + both expansions combined is $530 just picked up a pair! Got the stand on sale too for $150. Great review, will definitely be using these tips!
@@DV-ty6yc I wish I could see the look on your face when you finish the upgrade! I'm rediscovering what it can do and it's made so many exercises way better! Thank you for watching, it was my pleasure to share this one.
😊 WOW! Just installed this upgrade and I am super pumped! Looks great, like they were always there. Works smoothly. Using today for close grip bench as a finisher. Looking forward to squats this weekend. Not skipping leg day for sure!@@SelfBuilt
@@DV-ty6yc You just made my day!! I'm so honored you did the upgrade and excited for you to feel the difference of smoothness!! I've almost explored all the different exercises with the upgrade and it's a totally different machine now! 😯 I'm excited to hear how leg day goes and everything else! Thank you for sharing and if you find out any secrets with it let me know so I can share them! 😊💪
I'll be sure to be more specific on the next meal prep video. Thank you for the feedback and for watching! If you have any recommendations I'm all ears!
If it is hard to hook up, push the down button on the pump controller. pressure can build up in the lines when both ends are unhooked because of the difference in ambient temperature from the last time you unhooked. I never unhook the lines from the pump, I need to push the down button to hook up the lines to the jack every now and then. (9 years of use so far and same ends still don't leak).
@@FRUGALWITHJOHN That's great advice! If I had the space I would totally keep them connected all the time too. I'm happy to hear that 9 years in it's been trouble free! Thank you for watching!
Thank you for being the only review (that I’ve seen so far) that mentions the interior radius for dumbbells or 1” (I’m assuming barbell shafts). Question: can you use that interior radius for landmine rows on the barbell shaft, as opposed to the 2” sleeve ???
Thank you for watching! Yes, you can use the 1" notch for barbell shafts. Yes to your question. You might want to be aware of what you are doing if the barbell shaft has the chance to slide around.
My Covid Home Gym Mods on my cheap ass power rack, the (Fitness Reality Power Rack). 1) I made an awesome DIY Cable Belt Squat Platform, using the bottom seated row cable and feeding it through the 2 pulley wheels on to the cable holder that's at about crotch level so you don't have to get onto your knees to hook on the belt squat Belt to the cable. 2) I DIYed probably the best Cable Crossover Chest Fly I have ever seen, js. I use the best aluminum pulley wheels, I prefer the Blue colored ones because my home gym is Black and Blue for obvious other reasons. It is only hooked onto the Top Lat Pulldown Cable whether you are training to do Cable Chest Flys or hooked onto the Bottom for training Lower Chest, or doing Arm Curls. You'll have to see a picture to really know what I'm describing, but it's badass and smooth as butter. I even bought Blue Cable to make my own custom length cable and crimped it myself with aluminum ferrules and ball stops, just like any gym cable machine in the neighborhood. It's also 1 : 1.25 cable pulley weight ratio so that means I don't loose any poundage by using the cables, like most cable power racks do. Example: if I put 100 pounds on my DIY cable pulley machine, you are pushing about 120 pounds. These other cable machines are usually 2 : 1 cable pulley weight ratio, meaning that you loose 50% poundage: if you have 100 pounds on the their machines you're only actually pushing 50 pounds. 3) I have others but I said enough here already.
Man that's an awesome list of upgrades! You brought your squat rack into a different world!! I like the preset belt squat setup! Definitely a knee saver for sure! Oh you totally goota keep the black and blue theme going, it gives you plus 10 strength of course!! The blue cable is a nice touch. I'm thinking of getting actual cable for gyms soon. Did you have use a special crimping tool?
Yeah I've tried it and the leg pads are too low to get my legs under and have my knees in the proper position. It's been great for a lot of other things though! Are you considering getting it?
Great video and I love your sense of humor.😊 I just got these and was looking for a quick overview. Thanks for covering everything. I’ve had a Bowflex set for about 15 years. They were in a bit of an accident and not repairable, although I’ve repaired them a couple of times for minor things and customer service is great. Looking forward to all the positive points you mentioned for these. Not having them dig into the legs is awesome! They switch so much faster too.👌🏼
Thank you so much I really appreciate it! That's great you've had Bowflex ones so long! YES! Your legs will thank you haha! Mine are still going strong! I've done a handle upgrade, they have become a centerpiece of most workouts! If you have any other questions let me know, I'm so excited for you! 💪
@@pratiksonawane5130 that's weird, I just checked. Maybe the link isn't working. Here is a different one 💪. instagram.com/self_built_yt?igsh=MXEyOWViOWU0MnR0dg==
I was throwing a frisbee to my friends Doberman. BOOM. Same. Doing all the exercises, recovering really slow (lot older than you). Been a couple months, can't even do a 40lb dumbbell press. Frustrated, but still at it.
Oh man! I'm sorry to hear that. Those frisbees need a warning label. Is all or most of your range of motion back? It sounds like you are doing all you can. Listen to your body and keep going and it will come back!! 💪
@@CNote1906 That's good! Yeah the strength can be frustrating when it doesn't come back as fast. Does your strength feel good on machines or things you don't have to stabilize as much? I noticed when the stabilizers aren't healed yet that that affected things a lot too for me
Don't get angry at me, but I don't agree that external rotations should be done as a warm-up. I would recommend you stop doing them, I never do them, if some exercises I don't feel comfortable in my joints (shoulders, knees, wrist, elbow..) I try to find other variations that I feel comfortable with.
You have a great point! I usually like to find an alternative pain-free way too. For this one it was a guide to see how the healing is going. The discomfort was just at the small beginning ROM and light. I never pushed it. But I agree with you. Thank you for your input and watching! 😁💪
Yeah I think that would definitely keep the rattle down. It has the smallest amount of play inside and that would help keep them all snug. They are on a really good sale right now! Last I saw you could get them for like $287!
Can you send me the link to those pulleys? Not the aluminum part but the black part, I have been trying to find something like that for months they are fixed but also rotate to where you pull
Oh course. I can't find my top pulley cages but these are the middle ones. They are slightly thinner metal but I haven't had any issues with them. amzn.to/45dFyBT
I’ve been using my stage 1 set for about a month now. I can get great workouts with them but they take a bit to get used to. I also find doing goblet squats a little more difficult when holding them with two hands.
I'm glad you're enjoying them! Yeah they do take a second to get used to but they are pretty great for what they are! Yeah they are a little limited with goblet squats unless you have steel thumbs haha. Thank you for watching!
@@craigpage1261 I agree! I can't imagine it being very difficult to make different or even better versions. Maybe this video will get the word out haha!
