I got over my MMO addiction. For now. Just playing flight sims and tactical shooters. Really interested in mil-sim right now. Used to do cinematic Eve videos and I'm working on the camera chops for DCS World to do some things there. GG's
Hi ! Every time when it starts.. cocpit view is too close. I try to adjust with R shift+- and mouse wheal as well but still not enough and want to save the seat. Any idea for it please?
I actually ran a Wood Elf archer in unmodded DFU a little while back. I went no magic and no armor. It was still surprisingly playable. SPEED helped a lot to stay out of range. By the time I beat the main quest I had three daedric bows and was still just using the clothes I bought when I got out of Privateers Hold :D Btw, your wall textures look really blurry. If you go into your DFU advanced settings and set the filters to "point" you will get much crisper textures. "Trilinear" is intended for smoothing out HD-texture mods.
Another tip I would add is always go in One direction. For example, always go to the left. Take every left hand door and continue until you've cleared an entire section. Then look at the map and see what sections you haven't cleared and repeat the process.
I wouldn't hesitate using the teleport spell, even with smaller dungeons turned on. Especially if you are coming from Skyrim/Oblivion. It does NOT make it too easy. Lol it makes it sane.
The dungeons in this game are absolute nightmares. It's mainly due to the map. It's so hard to see where you are and where you are supposed to go with all the passages snaking around everywhere. I honestly couldn't play daggerfall without the smaller dungeons option turned on. And even with that I end up using the tele2marker command a lot due to some obscure hidden door or lever I missed
Thank you for this video. My only suggestion is it doesn't fully show at times where we should be assigning those commands/keys on our HOTAS to keep it as close to or mimic the real life counterpart as possible. For example, you showed where the 3-positional "dogfight" switch would be on the throttle but there were other commands say "Uncage" should be mapped. I get it there may not be a HOTAS real-life button for where that would be, but I'm sure you have the most practical location on your HOTAS on where every command should be for smooth flying and that is a HUGE help.
Yeah man I couldn't even get out of there the first few times I played until I looked up the route, couldn't imagine doing it without the internet on dos. Fighting through enemies finally thinking you're at the right door only for it to be a dead end with a fucking bear lmao
Using the BMS launcher is ideal, I agree. But saying the "in-game GUI doesn't work" is not a true statement, it in fact does work and has worked since 1988 when I first played the game on a DOS platform, IBM 486.
Thanks! just got into BMS a few days ago and I've barely got air time due to me trying to memorize doing a cold start as best as I can and reading the manual as thoroughly as I can so this helps a lot.
Also, thanks for this. I've been trying for a week to get shop stealing exploits to work (save and load in shop, open spell on door), but every time the shopkeeper was still there. Finally, this actually worked.
All the armor slots and magic items you can wear... I did get unity it's fun to play again. Wasn't Daggerfall the one that would have certain holidays where items were discounted... yes, that actually mattered in the older ES games. Daggerfall dumped you in a dungeon and said good luck... now they roll out a red carpet for you... lol...
Oh boy you were doing so good until you got to PVP. 😣 First off, NO ONE wants to do concensual PVP in the overworld, its too inconvenient and time consuming which is why in open world games with opt in PVP, you see pvp almost entirely in instances. Secondly, not everyone who wants forced PVP is a griefer, I don't want to grief but I want it. Grouls are not so simple as being a monolith. Thirdly, griefers are NOT bad for the game, they create dynamic encounters that keep the game interesting and varied with player interactions. Not to mention if done right which, it hadn't, it can be great for the economy of the server. Fourthly, a world with no danger is no world at all and MMOs need to be worlds. Lastly, people keep saying we should get rid of leveling but never propose anything to replace it. Thus its not going to work. Leveling isn't a bad system, its not a one size fits all but it works in most cases so it should still exist in games of the caliber you're talking about. There is room for multiple types of progression in the genre which includes leveling.
Good on you. Pointing out how some push games. It's really a big chunk of RU-vid now and it's more than just games. The whole thing is commercialized pretty much. However, more power to you as it's actually not a bad thing. If you're a cute chick and start a gaming channel it's nearly a guaranteed 100k subs lol. That there is beautiful. 🤠
This is why I auto-grouping, class balance but also classes that complement each other. Systems like classes that Buff, Heal, Crowd Control, DPS and Tanking. Along with crafting skills that let you alter and puff your characters states to suit your play style. Just because two Druids have Rejuvenation. Those should be able to be altered for your preference of play style. Secondly the auto-grouping that teleports straight to the dungeon, it does two things MMORPG’S should never do. One, it stops you from talking to other players and friends to see if they would like to group and do “X” dungeon. Because what mmorpgs need are what solo games can’t give you. Community, interactive guilds that help you learn to play an excel at your character. A tank should die holding every job on him. Why? Because dodging and blocking become harder as 4-6 mobs beat on you.
The thing a MMO needs is a system that doesn't make you feel pissed when you try something, like upgrading a gear and that having a chance to break, it would be better if that was a difficult process instead of RNG. The leveling must be slow and instead of farming the nonsense GS where you drop the same piece of gear over and over again, actually feel the progression of equiping a new gear, a totally different and redesigned armor or weapon. I'm tired of mmos where the armor you drop at level 1 is the same at max level, tired of this "endgame content" where you spam dungeons to have a chance to drop something good because if you dont, guess what, you get crushed in PvP or you're not capable of doing better dungeons.
This is what I needed! It's something that keeps me entertained while I read the dash-1. People want to play bms for good and entertaining fights, not reading manuals. Having to wait 2 weeks to get to that while you read all the manual/s and do all the tutorials isn't very fun and a wall in the way of many begginer upcoming bms pilots
You would be surprised how many people feel differently and actually like reading long manuals. I think it’s a good thing that this selects who will stick with BMS. Those who want different style can choose let’s say DCS. Many simmers read the manuals while going through tutorials or jump in a campaign and also watch videos like this. That actually reduces the learning curve but it’s still long. Study level sim.. The best is to join others, a squad or mp and they can teach on the fly

Not quite sure id agree on such a wide array of subjects. What most mmos fail with is that they make it so single player and hub focused that it leaves out the interaction that you need to keep the game dynamic and engaging with the community. Yes that includes the good and the bad. The need to be designed such as everyone takes part in a large system like you said but not in a genre mixing way but systems that relate to eachover. Crafters help raiders and raiders helps the casuals. The pvpers lives of the players and keeps people on their toes. (A mix of open world areas for pvp and some semi protected ones where you may relax. I do believe you have heard of ashes of creation. If that game is anything that it proposes to be then it may be the game that you may enjoy. New world also has this guild controlled setup for areas. with guild versus guild castle fights. Sounds much like you mentioned in the video.
