Chill guitar reviews and lessons with a hint of silly humour.
Hey, I'm Jack, a guitarist and teacher from the north of England. Welcome to my little corner of the internet where we hang out and talk about electric guitar. The best instrument. Expect a relaxed vibe, honest opinions, and a few stupid jokes.
If you'd like me to work on your project or have any suggestions for the channel, get in touch at the email address below. I'd be stoked to hear from you!
I mean, you could take a router to it and route a cavity to fit one but the bridge is fixed from the factory. You'd be so much better off just buying a good guitar that already has a tremolo though not just 'cause it's easier but because this isn't a good guitar. Thanks for watching, I appreciate it 🤘
Hey there. I was considering getting this as my second guitar. Mostly for some good shoegaze, dreampop and slowcore tones. I'm assuming the pickup selection + dynamic switch would handle them well. Would you recommend this one? Thanks Also, the demo sounded absolutely beautiful
@@xtremekraken Thanks for the super thanks again dude, that so cool of you! Yeah, I’d absolutely recommend this guitar and I think it’ll do a quality job for what you’re needing it. Appreciate you mate, cheers 🤘
I once ordered a Fender Player Strat and had to return it back then. The set up was so horrible. Nowadays I‘m okay with it and know how to fix it but back then I had to save 700€ and had no idea how to fix it..
This is the problem isn't it. Not everyone knows why a guitar might be bad and paying a decent chunk for something garbage is always a bad time. Thanks for watching mate 🤘
I love a tele and that pickup set in the pro modern is awesome! Peg/ sentient are so versatile. I may love black winter a little more but and peg/ Nazgûl is nasty to. Seymour Duncan leaves you spoiled for choice.
That's so cool! I'd never thought to see how it'd be named 😁 Thanks man, that's a really cool comment and what I'm gonna tell folks it is now haha Appreciate you watching 🤘
I just picked one up....very excited to get my first Strat....the guitar of legends.. . Love it....changed the strings and went to school Not disappointed in any way
Thanks for watching mate, I'm glad you found the video interesting! I'll bear it in mind for future videos dude, appreciate the feedback! If you buy one dude I think you'll love it, it's such a cool guitar. Thanks again 🤘
It does from a specs perspective, absolutely. The problem is the price tag for me. There are so many other guitars I'd get before the player plus but that is just my take. Appreciate you watching mate, thank you 🤘
@@JackTaylorGuitars Thanks for the reply - what suggestions do you have? I am looking for an HSS - but with those Player Plus type specs. I do like the Fender neck shape.
My immediate suggestion for an alternative would be the Nick Johnston Schecter, it's about the same price and is a far better guitar but there are s-types from Cort and Harley Benton that would save you a decent chunk of money and play better. Hope that helps mate!
Just finished watching your Omen Elite-6 FR video and loved it. I was wondering if you'd be willing to review a Kramer Striker. I'm on the fence between that or spending a bit more for the Schecter
Thanks so much mate, I'm glad you enjoyed the videos! I can definitely check it out, see if it's something I want to get my hands on dude. Appreciate you, thanks again 🤘
Thanks man! I've got another one coming up in a few weeks if you're interested. Dude, yeah, the neck heel is everything I've wanted Schecter to do. It's awesome. Thanks for watching as always dude, hope you and yours are well 🤘
Bought one of these recently and sent it back. I did intend to do the set up myself which I'm competent to do. A more thorough check of the neck revealed further problems which were a hump at the body joint, high frets above 12th fret, Fret ends rough as f**k, nut unevenly cut, E and A strings cut so low no room for adjustments and the other 4 strings way to high. The intonation was way out a small point but taking account of the other issues not worth touching. Although it was sold as a new guitar the serial number suggested August 2022 so a COVID era guitar, probably been sitting in a shipping container for months on end. A lot of the problems though it left the factory with. I'll mention that I bought it from GAK and that they were superb in picking up the instrument and refunding my account via PayPal.
I've been hearing this a lot about the covid era Fender stuff. I'm sorry you ended up with a dud too.A RU-vidr I like a lot said recently in a video how stores were basically forced to buy all the Fender stock they'd made because they massively overestimated demand and, if they refused, then Fender would stop stocking them. That's pretty stinky to me and explains why loads of us keep getting garbage guitars. I'm glad you got it sorted man and thanks for checking out the video 🤘
All his guitars are straight copies os a compilation of copied features of other guitars, nothing new or innovative anywhere, plus he's a complete narcissist and serial liar. Avoid chapman guitars at all costs.
Thanks for watching the video dude, I appreciate it! Obviously, not liking the guy is totally fine. We don’t have to like everybody but the argument about his guitars being copies is a bit of a stretch. The shapes are all open to use and the parts are made by companies to be used. It’s kind of like saying ESP or Solar are just copies with no innovation or any other brand who makes a Strat, tele, etc. I’d like to see more innovation too in the guitar space but these guitars are fucking good man. That’s all there is to it really. Thanks again 🤘
😂 Yeah you’re right. I just prefer my hard cases to be a little bit softer. Only the hardest dudes are worthy of a cardboard hard case and I’m not one of them! Thanks mate, appreciate you checking out the video 🤘
I'm not sure on the mechanics of this one, just that it's called a T Bar undersaddle pickup. I believe it sits contacting the saddle but couldn't be sure. I'm a bit of a noob with classical stuff! Thanks for checking out the video dude 🤘
Bro, you have all my favorite guitars, I'm always playing catch up. I got a Strandberg and recently a Chapman ML3, and have been looking at the AM6 lately lol. Crazy you made this video.
Congrats on the new guitar, dude! This one definitely looks much better than the first version, and the pastel colour is just, UMMHH! 🤌 There's just something about pastel coloured guitars, and that one is definitely one of my favourite looking ones out there. (I fell in love with pastel coloured guitars after getting my RG 😄) The neck heel definitely looks comfortable, especially with that much of beveling.
Thank you so much my dude! I know right?! Such a beautiful colour. I like the first one but this is just it haha I’m with you on the colours front mate. And yeah, the neck heel is one of the best bolt on heels I’ve played but there’ll be a full review soon. Thanks again man, hope you’re well! 🤘
@WailingRaven hey dude you could have told me you were a genius guitarist !! 🎸 but your modular synth stuff is so scary. Anyway I'm subscribing to your channel!! So please keep playing guitar 🎸
@@Nickshreds890 Thank you! You're too kind, I'm just a lowly student of the craft, I couldn't even play half of the stuffs of those who I admire could. 😅 Doubt I could stop playing, because it's just too fun! (* ̄▽ ̄)b
Holy cow ! It looks absolutely gorgeous dude ! I’m stoked for you Jack :). I’m really happy for you that you got one without any sharp frets ! Damn it’s so pretty . I love the colour ! I wish Schecter guitars were not so heavy . It sounds killer ! You’ve got a sweet new guitar there . What kind of pickups are they ? :)
By the way the channel is nearly at 6 thousand subscribers ! That’s crazy. Yay that was a fun video my friend ! Have an awesome week :). I hope you’re well! Take care too :)
@@Nickshreds890 Thanks so much man! Yeah it’s perfect from a build perspective. I’ll go into a bit more detail in the full review soon. The pickups are a Schecter USA Aaron Marshall set called the Solstice and Equinox. Thanks again bro, hope you’re well too and take care!
@@JackTaylorGuitars I'm doing really well !! I hope you're keeping well bro ? This was a fascinating video I finally had a chance to try the Ibanez Sew 761 fm . Should I do a review on it ?? I decided to pick it up and I absolutely love it . The DiMarzio pickups and the nick are amazing. It's easier to play than my strandberg 😂
Hi Jack . Sorry about your dilemma with your PS strat. In I982 I bought a USA model from Dawson's Music for 400 Quid brand new, but it didn't Inspire me much. It had the bent steel grub screw saddles that I had to paint on my girlfriends nail polish 💅 to stop them vibrating, like a thread lock.Eventually I had to grind the grub screws down as they cut into my hand. The neck was well twisted from the factory and caused buzzing on the high strings. At that time as a classical player I thought everything was hunky dory and that's what Rock and Roll guitars were all about. I thought that I was the King of Rock and Roll, when people used to see the case and ask me ? Is that a Strat you have. I made some modifications to It and few years later I sold it for peanuts 🥜. The best thing I ever did it was like a cross I was carrying around. To cut a long story short, I set my Sonic soul free and have never strayed from the path of right teous tone since . Hope you find your Sonic destination. Best regards 😸. John. 8:16 8:16
Couldnt agree more with all of this. I owned a Washburn Solar V, and have had a couple of Solars since, and my S1.6 Evertune being the guitar i have owned for the longest, ever, of all guitars i`ve owned (which is like 50 something?) Quality on all of mine has been impeccable, with zero issues. The only thing i tend to do is swap the pickups, or pickup really, since i do love the neck pickup in the Solars, but the bridge doesnt speak me. Thankfully i`ve found my new dream pickup in the SD Dyad, which sounds wicked in my main Solar!
Thanks for checking the video out dude! It's cool to hear that you've had such a good experience with Solar. This one's killer but it's awesome to know it's a consistent thing. I've never heard the SD Dyad either, might have to check it out. Thanks again 🤘
Thanks for the comments and checking out the video mate! I'm really glad you enjoyed it. Yeah man, they're definitely a super cool thing. Cheers dude 🤘
