Pretty accurate channel name, lol. I am going to do a lot of punk rock content. Album reviews, song reactions, retrospectives, and podcasts covering punk rock, oi, and hardcore (all punk adjacent music) from the mid 90's to now. I will even be checking out newer bands and doing streams as often as possible.
I have a small indie label and would love to check out your music, so please reach out on IG or email if you have a band you want me to review or check out!
Great interview bro. I was just listening to Integrity at the gym today, and this popped up in my feed. Integrity is my favorite hardcore punk band next to Ringworm. I'm from northeast Ohio and seen them multiple times live. They're both great live never been disappointed like I have been with some other bands. You definately deserve more subscribers.
Yeah I don’t think this album was inspired by Linkin Park. Given that their first record came out a year after this. Though yeah I agree that the Prayer Position definitely sounds pretty nu metal
I didn't say they were inspired by Linkin Park, I said it sounds like Linkin Park. As in, for a reference to what it sounds like: Linkin Park. That song is incredibly similar to that type of Numetal.
Man that sucks, the place I go that serves food seems pretty good - you can eat beforehand in the bar area or you can order stuff for your seat but they deliver everything before the film starts and if you want anything after that you have to go get it yourself ... phones aren't usually a problem here and been a while where I was pissed off with someone talking. Crazy that they let people into a movie that long after a film starts though, I know they need to make money but its kinda disrespectful to all the people who turned up on time
100% agree, it's super dumb. The place I work at doesn't typically let people in late like that, it's usually only if there's not really anyone else in the theater... it's wild
Ok first thing, i have never heard of a full service movie. Thats WILD! Having a waiter bring food to you at a movie. Maybe you need to go somewhere where there is no food or service in the theater
Every theater i can think of has an option to have food brought to you, even if they dont have a menu and entrees. I literally work at a Alamo Drafthouse and do that exact job. We don't typically have this issue bc we will kick people out for talking or phone use. But I mean, it wasn't the design of the place that's the issue. People should know how to behave. I shouldn't have to drive twice as far bc people are morons.
@@thepunkrockreview Hey man! Great video, but I have to say, I completely agree with @Laylalover90 on this. I live in the North East where dine-in theaters are a specialty type of experience and definitely not the norm, and the addition of eating adds a whole other layer to the movie going experience in the worst way. Alamo Drafthouse is ABSOLUTELY the exception in that you have a strict "No talking or we'll boot you out" policy, but no one else takes silence that seriously. If you serve hot and ready food and DON'T police silence, then you've only created a strange one off kind of atmosphere that actually encourages chatter. I mean, just listening to waitstaff is supremely distracting. I think hearing the staff during the movie is a kind of tacit endorsement of talking that makes sense to my lizard brain. If the persistent "Hey, can I get you anything else? Oh, our specials? Well the chili fries are really good!" doesn't raise an eyebrow, then why would every "Oh shit did you see that?" Not to mention every instance of "Pass the ketchup."
Such an awesome doco Randall ! I love the Interupters... I think they're the real deal ! How awesome would it be to have Tim Armstrong involved in your career...... They write, play, sing, enough said !
Well, for a Top 10 all time Rancid songs, you could almost do all AOCTW tracks, so Dominoes just doesn't quite reach those heights. But I alsonlove that record, I think it's very underrated. Love that they did acoustic versions of most of the songs, too
My Mrs played in a punk band, touring in a van, pissing through the rusty hole in the back of it,dossing in squats all over Europe, hardly access to showers etc for weeks, not knowing where next food or any cash is coming from, I'd love to see this useful idiot cope 😂
Hey guys, loving your video. First time I’ve visited your channel; I’m starting to explore folk punk, so this is perfect! Just wanted to mention that when a trans person changes their name, referring to their previous name is called “dead naming” - and it’s seen as inconsiderate, at best. Just an FYI. 😉
Yeah, I'm aware. Are you saying I am not supposed to say the person's "dead name" ever? Even when talking about events that happened or if doing some kind of historical documentation? If so, I find that a little ridiculous. If you have no intention of being rude or disrespectful, and someone still gets offended, then they can just be offended. Unless I'm misunderstanding your point, of course.
You answered your own question! The police were pub rock, music you could hear on a jukebox in a pub while the subs played on your record player at home.
Its ok to not be so diplomatic man. Erin is a cvnt that is exploiting the scene and turning it into her own little dress up show. She doesnt belong here, period. In my opinion, i highly doubt that vapid idiot threw any punches! She's a shallow, coward and doeant have enough heart or integrity to fight for herself. She deserves to get a dose of reality. Too many people have placated her and it's bullshit!
Moral of the story, posers are gonna pose, and get their ass kicked for it, its been like this since highschool, it will always be this way, gatekeeping is necessary 🤷
Elton John was talking about "smoothies, bovver boys, hard mods or simply: bootboys". Google "Bootboy Glam and Football Chants: Proto-Oi! in the 1970s United Kingdom" and have a read. The song *is* about skinheads and the other closely related subcultures, which were the mainstream at the time.
All you claim to be punk and know what punk is. You're all a bunch of liberal puppets of the system. You've got the same politics as the hens from the TV show the view. You claim to be rebellion but are just a bunch of cosplay cowards. The only true rebellion left in punk is skinhead. And for the 40 year old junkies in the band still pist: wow you beat up some weaklings. You want a medal? PATHETIC. why didn't you go to jail? You're probably informants or have only low level drug charges and got a stern warning from the police. Anyone who's ever done anything would have been in jail facing a prison term. You're 40 years old smashing "posers" smfh. Your band is basic as fuck anyhow, same old same old sound
To clarify the last point as lost in translation as lots going on at once, the new (well new compared to hank- RIP) singer of turbonegro, was the singer of various UKHC bands like Rot in hell, who sonically are like a British version of integrity. As well as a few others, I believe he got the job because he could sing and was the president of the turbonegro fan club. If you watch the integrity london video the "Mr sylvester" who dwid gets to do the "micha" at the start of the song that's tony.
She has a very low opinion of punks, and it’s quite apparent, yet she mingles amongst us like she’s going to catch AIDS from us. Because she thinks of us this way she automatically assumes that we think that way of her as well. I could give a shit if she is rich, or what she looks like, so long as she is a good person. She’s NOT a good person though! She is really lucky that she didn’t ACTUALLY get hurt, like seriously hurt, venturing out of her commercialized, glitter punk scene into the world of hardcore… pfffttt… it’s hard for me not to laugh flashing back to that video of her right after “the attack”, it’s like the yearly asskicking tour of Erin Mcglow. I’d pay for tickets to that! Yeah, she fucking sucks. I hope for her sake she stays far from me, I’m a 44 yr old female and what I got from this interview is that I wouldn’t mind beating her ass too…🤣
Bragging about how successful/rich one is amongst a largely blue collar, working class scene like punk rock… Man, she doesn’t “get it” and she never will because she hasn’t ever struggled. This chick is a narcissist and I’m embarrassed FOR HER! See her “making eyes” at herself and posting this entire time? Of course you did… smh… looking like Joan Crawford’s Mommy Dearest ass all chinned out and stuffed into swap meet club clothes… If her personality wasn’t so ugly MAYBE she’d be so/so… but, but, but “I’m a modellll” 🙄 no, you’re a shitty person.
When I was 15 I got my friend into Rancid and he got me into Bad Religion. To this day Bad Religion is my favorite punk rock band. Absolutely love them. And I think Greg Graffin is one of the best punk rock singers of all time. Super melodic clean(mostly) vocals totally fit BR's musical vibe. I don't pigeonhole punk singers. I'm open to all kinds of vocals.
She seems very argumentative, i see why she might get shit, like you've said in a previous vid "you dont run your mouth and get away with it" Also she dosnt seem that self aware, if she was she'd admit wrong. She contradics herself too much to be convincing otherwise. Yes shes been bullied, so have i, im still bullied by my own father and get family abuse like she did. Im a little older then Erin and im still struggle with my trauma, i can admit when im wrong and i feel that has been a maturity and made me more self aware, she just thinks she needs to make a point because of bad experiences with bullies, can relate to that, but not knowing when your wrong is immature and abit narcissistic. I said it i think shes a narcissist. Every convo you tryed getting a word in she interruped you and was making it about her.
