People don’t realize the only knock people have on AOC is his mobility. If he learns how to work the pocket better. He’s going to excel!

I’m with you a thousand percent regarding our QB, #12. Factoring in the less than favorable offensive coordinator situation he had to deal with last year, I have high confidence he will perform much better this year operating in a more well defined and effective offense.

Brother, I truly appreciate your sober approach to things. I get so tired of these RU-vid hype men. It's exhausting listening to all the talk about the Raiders not having a QB. I saw this kid in preseason out play the vets and then back it up during an extremely tough test period during the season when he had to be good against all odds. Very few QB's would've handled that as well as Aiden did. Zero t/o's in a run to get in the playoffs. I think a lot of this kid, he's not an elite talent but he doesn't have to be. He has exactly what it takes to win, he's fearless and accurate. He has an advanced understanding of the passing game and where to go with the football. Reads post snap and avoids mistakes that get you beat. Best of all he's a Raider! A lot of people don't know this but the Raiders have rarely had the best QB in the league, we won with defense and a strong Oline. That is where we're headed now. All Aiden has to do is get the ball to the weapons on time and accurately and we can beat anybody.

Aoc has heart man look at his frst game against chargers he was getting killed but kept fighting

Farva is a special Qb. He is one of the last with intelligence and an unstoppable drive with great anticipation.

I agree with what you said about the the Raiders quarterbacks. I watched Stabler and Plunkett play back in the day . And didn't have to great all the time. They enjoyed having a great defense to play behind. But the one thing that all great Raiders quarterbacks had was the will to win. Play to their strength. And Antonio Pierce has him playing all to their strengths on defense and offense knows how to get the best out of them just like Madden did. Just win baby.

It's been a revolving door of head coaches and quarterbacks since the Al Davis days going back to the 60's. I grew up in the Bay Area watching teams like the 49ers, the chiefs and the broncos win divisional titles, make the playoff consistently and win super bowls. The thing all those teams had in common is consistency: Good head coaches that coached for the same team for years, quarterbacks that kept their teams in games and won the majority of them, and owners that understand football. Now we have Mark Davis fumbling around lost I the fog. Until the raiders have consistency at head coach and general manager the team will flounder in mediocrity like it has been doing for decades. Just my two cents...

one thing about AP, he is going to give the starting job to the guy who earns it, and he isnt going to just pull the rug out if they struggle from time to time he sticks with his guy. and that is the kind of stuff that can give a young QB confidence.

It's aidin's team as of right now and I stand behind him. The dude can play and I'm expecting him to make a 2nd year jump 10x better from last year. Wearing the snakes #12 this year is cool. He wants all the smoke!

OConnell has got this! All he needs is a little more time in the pocket. And since coach said we will be running the 12 (two TE) a lot- and the offensive coach we got ran a lot of it before he got here. This will buy him the little time difference he needs. And Carl- I am hoping you are right about our right side lineman coming into this season with good improvement. I been so frustrated I turned into a negative attitude guy- thats over. Back to the old me- and the Raiders are back to smash mouth football. Life is good. Oh- Minshew… he is a good back up and that’s where he will stay.

Minshew is a fun prospect cause he comes across as a fun dude. If it could work that would be dope. But till then Aiden is the man.

He definitely deserves the chance to start...i just hope his pocket awareness has drastically improved. It's almost like watching a young Carr but with even more potential. Hopefully it works out for him.

I think things should slow down for him in Year 2. If they do and he improves his footwork, he'll have better pocket awareness and mobility which should make him good enough for a playoff run.

AO4 has a winning record as starting QB in the NFL. If he was drafted in the first or second round last year we'd be talking about his potential greatness. Carr was the fastest QB ever to reach 75 losses. Gardner Minshew has a losing record as a starter so does Kyler Murray, Trevor Lawrence, Baker Mayfield, Matthew Stafford and Deshawn Watson among others.

As a franchise from a business stand point we need AOC to ball out.....love his deep ball.

Ive watched every quarterbacks best throws amd his TD against Denver was the best of all of em even the announcer didn't know how to explain it. While drifting back wich is how you do it not run tf around until someone is open that tells me either the play call sucked or the pre and post snap reads didn't line up.

He has to win period Aoc has the weapons to succeed Aiden has to put this together

Both O'Connell and Minshew have a great opportunity since the Raiders declined to burn down the house to get a rookie superstar QB. That's fine with me because I knew they wouldn't. But now it's on them to make it happen. Or at least on O'Connell. We'll just have to see how this thing turns out.

Said it before, O’Connell did a much better job of sliding around the pocket towards the end of the season Should only improve after a full offseason with first team reps

I gotta roll with you on AOC. I think he's a better talent than Minshew. The kid (AOC) has definitely been putting in work! I think with an established OC, and with the OC having freedom to run his offense, not like what he had in Chi-Town, he was set up to fail there. But Davante Adams is an AOC guy, so we'll see how the players respond to each guy.

i dont think the willingness to trade up in the draft was indicative of a lack of confidence in aoc, i think it was because AP wanted to get his guy jayden daniels. i think guard dog and aoc are both good and i am excited for the battle. i think guard dog is a cool dude and fits the raider mold. having said that, i think aoc has a more important quality, he possesses a cool headedness, work ethic and overall tenacity thats allowed him to exceed everyones expectations every step of his entire career. i believe that will be teh reason aoc ends up our franchise qb. also i think there is too much emphasis on aocs lack of athleticism. he isnt a small guy, he isnt frail and he has a big arm. ironically the team who was supposed to be weak at qb has one of the best duos in the league.

I've been supporting him since I saw him play in the pre-season.A person that knows sports,can recognize a true talent.As a 4th round rookie,I saw this guy make some tremendous throws, throws a veteran would make.All this "we have to have a hall of fame-type QB" is nonsense.Look at all the great QB's that never won a Superbowl - Marino,fouts,tarkenton, Josh Allen,etc...and Trent Dilfer did! Aiden has Tremendous upside!

If the kid realizes that he's got the body of a Roethlisberger and uses it to shake off tackles, the sky is the limit cuz the kid reminds me of Plunkett. Not flashy, but can air it out like the old Fouts vs Plunkett battles I grew up on. Hope Minchew doesn't get the job just because he's getting paid. If White runs the ball well, I think O'Connell will have a great season. RNFL

I’m not pro or Anti AOC12 I think we should have tried to move up and get a QB, but Aidan seems to be the only heavily scrutinized QB, people ranked Will Levis over him despite AOC performing way better and only being a year older, if Aidan was drafted at 7 rather than Tyree, I wonder if he would be thought of as someone to build around. Makes me wonder how he’s gonna do next season, the only way the Raiders and AOC can really shut people up is winning a playoff game

lets see how the preseason goes and of course aoc should still be in the lead minshew has never even thrown to any of the raiders players. I do think with the recieving corps that the raiders have that minshew will win the starting job, but only time will tell.
