Hey brother, I hope this finds you well. I was fumbling around RU-vid and stumbled across your channel from Daimler. With that being said the first video I seen was this one and it hit home with me. I too was diagnosed with colorectal cancer almost a year ago, as a matter of fact June 30 will be exactly a year since my diagnosis. I too got sick and struggled for almost a year prior with trying to figure out what was wrong, I was 47 at the time and never in a million years would I have thought cancer. My tumor was quite large when they found it, about 13-14 cm and it was really low like yours about 8 cm from the end of my colon. With mine being so large and the position of it i ended up in surgery within a week of the diagnosis because it was 99% blocking my colon. I ended up having a colostomy bag installed because the tumor was so large and grew outside of my colon dangerously close to the lining of my abdomen so they couldn’t remove it safely at that point without further treatment. So over the last year I went through months of highly intensive chemotherapy, and months of radiation with chemotherapy. I was just at the doctors for a follow up and the tumor has shrunk from 13-14 cm to 1.5 cm. So now they are ready to surgically remove the affected tissue, affected lymph nodes, as well as the remainder of the tumor. I don’t know where you are with staging, mine was a really high stage 3. I’m here to let you know this can be and will be beat! Also my thoughts and prayers are with you in your journey and if you need to chat with someone I would be more than happy. Keep strong brother, you got this!!! #fuckcancer
That shit sucks. But nothing will ever be worse than when they pulled the staples out of my ankle after my surgery cut healed up. I was 3 percocets and this shit still stung like a son of a bitch.
The hospital taped my husband, also a hairy guy, fully around his arm. He said pulling that shit off was worse than the camera up his ass 😂😂 now if he has to go in and we think he's gonna get poked, I shave that spot for him 😂😂😂
@@graduallywizardly Last time I was going into hospital I shaved the spots on my chest where they attach the heart monitoring things. Otherwise, they'd do it with a dry razor :O
I believe my grandfather died from bowel cancer in the 1990s. He was in his 70s. I am 42 this year. This video has prompted me to check with mum if my memory is accurate and if so, I will go poop on a stick. 💩💩
Geebuzz Phil, I am a bit behind with my viewing but caught your Short today and then the snazzy title I'd scrolled past a few times had a penny drop moment. Much love to you and the fam, hope the news since this has been good.
Hard hitting content. Sorry to hear of your diagnosis. As males we are stubborn when it comes to our health. We won’t talk about stuff and we don’t see the doctor until something’s nearly fallen off. We need to change that. Hopefully your video should help some people. Thank you for having the bravery to share your story in the quest of helping others. Stay strong my friend.
I really hope any preparation for the worst is for naught and the worst thing that happens from all this is that you have to mow the lawn a few times and wind up with a clean shed....
A message to 80% of guys over 50: OK well done. You got your Bowl Cancer Screening Kit in the mail. Easy right? What you NEEEEEEEEEEED to do next, is move your chair out a little from under your desk, bend over, and pick the bloody thing up OFF the floor from where you carefully put it 18 months ago. Open it and use the damn thing. It’s really easy. You poo on a nappy you put in the toilet, take a little sample, put it in an envelope, and send it off. DONE. Nothing goes near your butt apart from toilet paper after. Do it. Now. PS - if its been sitting there too long - just call and ask for a new one. Again, the dude on the phone does NOT care, he will just send you a fresh kit.
Sending all my best thoughts your way. Not the result you would have hoped for but the messaging in this video was brilliant. If it makes just the guy below take the test then you've done your job already. On a side note, loved the way you shot this. You are a fantastic storyteller. Thanks for being brave to share it with the rest of us. RU-vid needs more of this ❤
Stay strong brother, our family has walked this path and it’s scary as hell and a tough journey - but we are all still here and now thriving. It ain’t over by a long shot !
Not sure if this is an omen or not, but I received my bowel cancer screening kit in the mail today. I've never used the ones I've been sent in the past, but after watching this video, I will definitely be using this one. Thanks for sharing your journey with us and if you need anything, you have my number. Stay strong mate. ❤👍
