*@nicksboots You really should add a pinned comment to your rebuild videos (going forward in the future), letting people know that the cost is always less than the actual cost of the boots. Rarely anyone is reading the video description anymore sadly. Because with a pinned comment, then people won't feel so discouraged about having their boots rebuilt.* *Ok and for people wondering about the cost? I put those down below straight from the website, complete with descriptions. It's considerably less than the boots themselves don't worry! It's worth every penny!* *Nicks Standard Rebuild* *Price $319.00 usd* *"This is for customers who have Nicks boots and just want us to rebuild them how they already are, reliable for whatever use you're putting on them. Make sure to check off the material up charges for your pre-existing options on the build so that everything can proceed smoothly when the boots get to us! If there are any components that you would like to have removed from the build, just select the "no / remove" option on the drop down for that item."* *Nicks MTO Rebuild* *Price $339.00 usd* *"This is for customers who wish to make changes to their current Nicks boots by rebuilding them. List your desired changes in the notes section and call us once your boots have arrived at our facility to finalize the details and confirm the validity of your changes. There may be additional costs associated with the changes made that can be paid during that phone call, or invoiced via PayPal."*
With so many more disposable quality boots I’ve been issued through 3 decades of special operations service I wish I had known of Nicks. I don’t own a pair yet but I fully intend to get into a pair. There has been a greater push in our community to run more athletically designed boots geared toward hiking vs more traditional combat boots due to the more extreme loads we carry and the extreme distances over rugged terrain. Nicks looks like a full spectrum approach to foot wear.
I've found that IF my footgear are all leather, I'm money ahead. Bick4 leather conditioner not only feeds the leather, it softens the leather, but it does not darken the leather. I slather a good amount of Bick4 conditioner into them (inside and out) and have found the wear-in process is much easier on my hooves. Softened leather molds to your hooves sooner than dry/stiff leather does.
I can’t hate on red wings every pair I have had has done pretty good as far as comfort reliability and price but my next pair of boots will definitely be nicks to see if the hype is real
Kind of wish I would have went this route I don’t like the that the pro has a rubber midsole and insole the pro will never mold to your foot like this boot will I’ve would have known this before hand I’d of never got the pro because neither a water proof like that I’m not in water like that anyway
glad im not the only one distracted by the coat.. lol its in most of the comments haha,, love learning about this stuff.. i only have Horween and Seidel boots.., def need some W&C cause im from PA!! lol
*Someone said they see "crooked inconsistent stitches". I don't see them at all after viewing this video several times 🤔 Someone would have to post a timestamp 😅 The shoes look great and awesome to me! I want a pair 😊🩷🩷🩷🩷🩷! I wonder why the word Dublin is in it? It sounds cool!*
Ballistol works wonders. Cures, seals, and protects the leather. I always spray some on my boots and wipe it around the entire boot. Let it soak and then wear them. Really loosens up the leather and helps the break in process. I use it on my western boots, my knives, my firearms, and my tools. Look it up, it’s great stuff. Good for wood tables too! Ultimately you just have to wear them though so they form to your foot. These things HELP but they are not the end all be all. Gotta wear them for a few weeks of work and let them do their thing.
