Williams are an iconic team in Formula 1 who have made a name for themselves with their longevity and pride themselves on engineering excellence, being one of the most successful privateer teams in Formula 1 history. Across their time in Formula 1, they have had numerous controversies involving driver contracts and transfers, and while co-founders Frank Williams and Patrick Head were a force to be reckoned with in their day, as they advanced in age they got stuck in their ways and failed to get with the times. Despite their marked decline in the 21st century, they are still a team that garners respect and admiration and have been able to recruit some of the finest drivers in Formula 1.
