I bought the Pagani buy unfortunately the new version does not have the iconic dots at 12 o'clock. Had I been able to buy this Oumashi ! (beg pardon, just sneezed) then I would have done so.
Technically I don't believe this is a mechaquartz. With mechaquartz the reset behaves like a mechanical movement and snaps back (8T & VK series). The reset is the mechanical component of mechaquartz. The sweep second hands (usually 1/5 seconds) is controlled by the electronics. It's not mechanical. Also the hands can not be recalibrated using the crown/pushers with a mechaquartz.
I'm not a fan of single domed crystals which displays too much distortion. I would prefer a double domed crystal. Too bad they didn't include the date window at 6. The VK64 has a date wheel so I suppose there is a ghost date in this watch. I have a Pagani PD1718 BB58 Chrono homage with the same movement without a date window also. I imagine it's cost savings not having to cut out a window on the dial although Pagani does it on their Daytona and Speedmaster models. I wish budget brands used the VK67 which as the traditional 7750 subdial layout with 12 hour counter. The chrono counts up to 12 hours and doesn't have the 24 hour hand.
The fakes pass that Casio button test. Did you do the led test? It's definitely fishy. That is how they make profit on those fakes. They makes thousands of them, and sell them for great prices. No need to market them. Casio is a bit ridiculous sometimes though. A regular silver a158 is 22 dollars. The gold varient is 70. Don't know how plating justifies that price tag, and no one talks about that. Apparently getting ripped off these days means you're cool and can afford it.
Thanks. This was the only review of this watch I could find and it helped me buy one. I have a soft spot for Pulsars as I had one that looked a lot like this for 30 years before it died. I'm sure they can only make them better these days. Thanks again
Hello, your video lasts more than 15 minutes and at the end we know neither the diameter of the watch, nor its thickness, nor the possible width of the bracelet. What is your video for ❓❓
I believe it is the sanda tank watch 1108 because It matches the size of the 1108. And also, the 9301 is for ladies/men with smaller wrists and the 1108 is for men/ladies with bigger wrists. Hope my comment helps you
i have one of the slightly nicer rotary skeleton watches, has a japanese movement and blue hands/numbers so the readability is quite a bit better than most skeleton watches.
Yes, these things don't get plated anymore. The pvd or dlc processes molecular bind to the steel rather than just lie on top. It's paradoxically thinner but holds on tighter. A great leap. I've got a 50's Avia which is plated thickly with actual gold but it shows damage in places... Mind you, 70 years lol
I just bought two of them ( brown and white),and when i get them I will be putting the watch back on a lathe and remove all those unnecessary info, thus leaving a lot of space for personal engraving 😁
The latest Oumashi versions are still on AliExpress and sell right now with the Anniversary Sale for USD 63. What is a small alarm bell, is that this case looks just like the other homages of the 1963 (first model certified by NASA) and later asymmetric cases, but the pushers are not sunk in like in the others and the original to protect them. WHY? They stick out! I have 2 types of this in my shopping cart, but have not bought either yet, because of this, and when I think about it, I do not like this part. The 2 I have in the cart right now are the 1968 racing dial version with orange chrono-second hand and expanded alternating by second fine scale, and the other one is the ONLY "Moon watch" homage with correct sub-dials, 30min at 3-o'clock, 12hr at 12-o'clock, and 60sec running at 9-o'clock! I have not been able to ever find an Omega Speedy with a 24 hour sub dial that all other homages have, which is why this is still a prime choice! Since you mention Miyota though, and now they supposedly have Seiko/TMI VK63 calibres, I wonder what calibre was used to allow for the correct sub-dials! Personally, I learned to hate Miyota, because of the 5 I had, only 2 survived, the others lived as little as only a couple of years, which is very poor for modern quartz! My dozen Seiko/Hattori/TMI el-cheapo watches are up to 35 years old and still all tick! Those pushers sticking out are odd, the super-large 56mm lug-to-lug eliminate the bracelet version, and the sloppy assembly makes the new claim of 100 meter water resistance very questionable. They may have improved their assembly since you posted this video, but the other items .... I think I will 20 dollars more and get the Pagani. Then again, Bulova has its very own Precisionist 262KHz quartz version of their own prototype moon watch for about USD400 with a cloth strap. Maybe I'll save up for that instead of another homage. Well, that too is just an homage, even if in-house...
@@thecheapwatchchap9554 - I have a few NATO-straps, so I'm set in any case, but real space pirates wear their watches on a velcro-strap anyway, so no sweaty rubber thing on the skin! Those extra long velcro bands were the best way of strapping it on space suits, as the old images prove I actually have a Pagani Paul Newman on the way now, because the anniversary sale offer was unbelievably low, and it is the same watch as the Pagani Speedy just in a different dress ... costume? Never mind, so at 49 dollars it was too pretty to pass, and maybe I'll live long enough to eventually get the Bulova Moon Watch!
My experience with SKMEI watches is that in reality they are far more waterproof than the stated spec. I wouldn't go swimming or take a shower in this but for day-to-day use they're fine.
