Try other brands, and make sure you are not adding too many additives. Crafter's Choice lathers extremely well, as does Stephenson's, but you can't add a bunch of oils or too much of any additive will destroy the lather. So will overheating. My MP soaps lather very well. Good luck! 🥰❤
Hi Terry, I'm trying this soap again!! I find it so involved that I keep forgetting the fragrance!! I stopped this time and picked one out before I finished the soap without one!! :) Hope all is good on your end!
I have been there, done that, my friend! Doing ok, and hope to be up and running soon. Just sent out a few orders I owed people, now to get editing and voice over recordings done, then back to filming! Thanks for watching and for trying my designs! 🥰
It looks similar to an Irish pour technique, (except in the mold instead of pouring the layers one at a time and then tearing them up and packing them in the mold before pouring.)
Terry, I know you use lots of Crystal Clear base. I'm struggling to find a FO (vanillin-free, of course) that doesn't significantly cloud up the clear base, even with a tiny drop of blue lab dye. Are there any FO's you've found that work best? Feel free to PM me.
You can add titanium dioxide or you can purchase many bases that are already white, like goat milk soap base. I mix my titanium dioxide in a small amount of glycerin so it easily disperses in clear soap base. Hope that helps. 🥰
My goodness I've been having a fine time making these!! You have been teaching me how to make THE most beautiful soaps! Thank you, thank you! Know that you are so appreciated.
Thank you SO much! I really needed to hear that tonight! So happy you are enjoying these, it's a fun technique. Thanks for watching and for taking the time to make me feel appreciated! 🥰❤❤❤
You're welcome, and thank you! I appreciate you watching and commenting. Feel free to share your results to my email, or DM through Facebook or Instagram, and I'll share in my Sunday Soap Share (1st Sunday of the month). Thanks for watching! 🥰
Gosh, these are beautiful like gem stones! My question came from me trying to make your chiffon design, only using neons, which I've never used before. Um. I made a mess. Do you prepare your neon color concentrate (e.g. glycerin + neon) and put in squeeze bottle to use at later dates? I made mine in the little pitchers, thus had to use my mix all up or it would go to waste. It came out WAY too dark/opaque/concentrated. I feel like I wasted what little I've bought (sample bags). How do you "make" your color neon or pigment mixes? Thank you so much!!
Sorry for the late response, I've been moving to Iowa! I only add about 1/2 tsp or less for the chiffon pieces, depends on the look I want. The hardest part is mushing out the lumps, you really have to work it a while before it's smooth. Hope that helps, and feel free to ask more questions. 🥰❤
After rewatching Aqua Life Pt 1, I decided I needed to rewatch this one. Working with my first tiny embeds I want to keep it simple for myself. This technique rather than mica painting will be best for me.
Terry, these little aquariums are so stinking cute! You certainly "wetted" my appetite for more! I hope you guys are doing okay, and the move went well. I'm sending some healing energy your way right now. Take care of yourselves and each other! I miss you! Now, back to watching soap reruns. You know, "The Suds of Our Lives," etc. (Flashback to the 70s and only having 3 stations, lol😂)
🤣 As the Soap Swirls? Thanks for the healing energy- it has been a doozy of a month, my friend. I miss you, too! Thanks for keeping the reruns going and I'll be up and semi-running pretty soon! 🥰
This is a cool technique! How long does the first layer cool for? I literally just tried it but I don’t think I let it sit long enough. But I’m happy to try again 😅
Thank you! The original instructions call for 10 minutes, and check it with a pencil eraser and if it bounces back a little, it's ready- if not add 5 minutes and try again. It really depends on the temperature of your workspace, so it's hard to be exact on that. Good luck to you and would love to see your results! 🥰
Hello . Love your videos . A hint / Tip while peeling the stuck bag off your block of soap use the heat from a hairdryer to warm it a little for easier removal. Thx! 🎉🎉
Hi, sorry it took me so long to respond, I've been in the middle of a cross country move. You can search on Etsy and find him fairly easily, just search Uncle Andy's Soap Cutters. Good luck! ❤
Amazon, just search for silicone mats, you can include key words like resin or crafting if you want, but there are many brands and sizes to choose from. 🥰
Can we use raw fruit or flower extract to make soap if so how long is the shelf life ? Please can you tell me ? I want to start a herbal soap business thats why am asking . Please guide me.
Not with melt and pour, they will rot. If you want to create an herbal soap business, extracts are your only option with melt and pour. You'd be much better off trying cold process, if herbal soaps are your goal. Good luck to you! 🥰
Thank you so much😊 .. it helped a lot.. then I will try cold process... Can you tell me in the cold process how much raw extract can we add and when should we add and how long is the shelf life of a cold processed soap?
@@_rumpassmallterracegarden_9504 I would help if I could. I recommend watching Mrs. Soap & Clay, Royalty Soaps, and other cold process soap makers. I'm strictly melt and pour only. Good luck to you! ❤❤
That may be possible, perhaps in another video way down the road. Or, if you try it, let me know how it goes! Thanks for watching and for commenting! 🥰
My best tip is don't add herbs and florals. 😥 Sadly, most botanicals will rot in melt and pour soap and can be very dangerous to use for anyone with sensitivities to mold, mildew, etc. You can use a few things, but most of the time people using flowers/herbs in soap are making cold processed soap. It can take a while to rot in MP, so many people get pictures before they turn and that's what you see them post, you'll even see stunning pics on pinterest, but they never show a month later "after" pics. Calendula petals and blue cornflower (true blue cornflower, not dyed) are ok for MP, no herbs. Some other botanical materials that usually work are oats (rolled, old fashioned, colloidal, but NOT instant or quick), dry coffee grounds, poppy seeds, apricot seed powder, black walnut hull powder, luffa, sea sponges, and that's all I can think of off the top of my head. You can also add clays and activated charcoal. Keep in mind, companies encouraging this are usually also selling the botanicals. I hope this helps. 🥰
