Thank you for making this documentary, best Camino film I have seen. I have had a few less than positive reactions to my going on the Camino and your film has made it something to look forward to. Today I booked my flights from Scotland and I am excited and really looking forward to the Camino, I won't watch anymore films this one was all I needed. Thank you. Cecile x
Hi. I will be doing El Camino in September. I am only doing it from Sarria to Santiago because it is my first time and going by myself. I am nervous about walking by myself even though people say “you’ll make friends. You’re not going to walk alone”. But I am extremely shy and an introvert.
Hi Stefanie! This was an absolutely beautiful watch! Thank you so much for sharing your journey :) I am wondering what camera/audio setup you used for the Camino? I’m planning to hike in September, and have my own video project in mind, but want to be very strategic about any extra gear I’m packing. Please let me know if you have any recs! Gratitude, Erica xx
Hello Stephanie, greetings from Southlake Texas. I started watching your first and second Camino procession and I got inspired. I had heard about it from my friends when I went to Spain in the 90s. It was behind my mind but now I really want to do it but I did had a heart attack in 2017 and that makes me really think about really like am I really healthy enough to walk? I mean I enjoy walking, I walk for about three or 5 miles every other day try to keep my health as healthy as I can, but I never really walked that long but what are your tips on how to get prepared? Do you have a video on preparing for such a trip or such a journey to do in a group setting and besides taking my meds with me and doing my check up or physical is there something else that we should be preventive about especially we do have a underlining diagnose with our health?
What a beautiful and inspirational documentary! I find it so up close and personal, warm and funny, typical (Camino) and insightful, about fear and longing, connection and love, with oneself and others. I watched it, in many episodes-not in one run, with a smile, a tear and I felt all warm and cosy. It really tells the universal story of walking…life. I love your “Face (fear of) the unknown and embrace it.” In 2014 I walked the Camino del Norte, a different terrain with mountains, forests and many up and down paths up high along the coast silverlined with astonishing views, but with the same mental and physical challenges and the same rich colorful in-personal experiences. It really is about connection, with yourself, with others and with nature. Your film inspires to do it again, soon. I hope you can do it again, or maybe the Del Norte, once. A big hug, Ray
You had me in the first five minutes at the footage of your father. I wept for him, for you, for all of us who have had the incredible blessing of a loving father. My father was my biggest fan and I miss him every day. Here is a thought for you, a spoken word piece I stumbled upon. Pardon me as I butcher the quote: "Love yourself as they loved you, to honor them.". That seems like an insurmountable task for me; I was so loved. Thank you for sharing your journey. Much love 🙏
Thank you Stefanie - your journey brought back so many lovely memories of places and the type of people you meet on the Camino. It was beautifully made and edited and a wonderful tribute to your Dad. He would be so proud ❤
I watched this video for the second time today. What a wonderful video on your journey in honored of your father. I lost my father 9 years ago, my uncle who was my second dad 7 years and my only sibling, my brother 6 years ago. I have so much pain in my heart. My brother died 2 months short of his 50th birthday. I'm turning 50 next years. I'm planning to do the Camino in April of 2026 in honoring of my brother and to let go of all the pain and baggages on carrying. Thank you for your video.
Wow, I just got back from doing the last 100 KM from Sarria with my mom. I told myself I’d be content with doing it just once as my feet began to ache on day 3 and the soreness settled in. Now that I am back home, I want to do it again but all the way from the beginning. Your video made me cry. Beautiful documentation. Thank you for
I keep coming back to your reviews! I only have time to be able to walk el camino primitivo but very excited to do it in August. I've already bought the Patagonia hip pack because of you 😂
My younger Sister Laura also did the full camino in 2023-From France ,across Spain to SanTiago ,then right to the ocean ...(end of the world) a very inspirational journey.. Thank you for showing me your experience and that of your camino companons ... Buen Camino ! 👍😊
Hey! Not sure if this is a silly question, but if Im flying into europe and planning to do camino, plus extra travel, so will have my backpack for the camino + a suitcase for normal travel - where do you store your suitcase while your walking?
Wow! just watched this and somehow I got emotional. I’ve been to Camino de Santiago but no idea about the walk, now I feel like going back and walk with a purpose. So happy for you and thanks for sharing. ❤
😺This brought back memories of my Christmas with my 😺. No matter how much space they had they always gravitated to the ornaments. There wasn't a morning I would wake up and not find broken ornaments on the floor. Small price to pay for the joy they bring, I miss them.😿Thanks for the memories. Greta is a beauty. 😻 Love your little🎄 white tree and your apartment. All the best in 2024.
Just powerful. The beginning portion of this video where your father is speaking left me speechless in a good way. Your father would be very proud of you, thank you for doing an excellent job, I pray that one day I can do the Camino.
Great video, stumbled upon it. I did the Camino in 2017 winter and your video absolutely gave me great feelings of memories once experienced. It definately made my day. Thanks for sharing. Buen Camino
Great video, I leave from New Zealand in 4 days to do the same route as you, and found it entertaining and informative. I’m 64 like your dad was, and he will absolutely be so proud of you. BTW way I’m also going to walk in sandals … maybe bits barefoot (I’m used to it)
👍I can't really say I'm a big fan of RU-vid videos but, I just happened to come across your video and really enjoyed it. Hard for me to listen to some people narrate but, your voice was captivating and kept me engaged to the end. What a great tribute to your dad Stephanie. Good luck.n ca usa. Yes the woman from Argentina is a bad ass.
One trick is check how early sunset is in the far north once fall comes around. That's helped me a bit though I usually prefer to be close to home once it's dark in late fall. Don't force yourself to do things when you're not ready. Never hurts to pray for everybody or at least their families everyday. That's how I got my wallet back after only about 16 hrs.
Thank you so much! I didn't keep track of how much I spent on my Caminos, so I can't say for sure. Efren Gonzalez has some great videos covering the price of everything---he's the best! I slept in albergues as much as possible. The donativos and municipal albergues are 5 to 8 euros a night. Private albergues are more like 10 or 15. And private rooms are 25 to 50 euros. So the cost of a Camino totally depends on the comfort level you're going for.
I so love ur videos. I finally caught up. Past few months have been a roller coaster for me. My daughter fell ill and I nearly lost her. Thank u Jesus for the full recovery she made. I played catch up on ur videos and wow. Ur life has been roller coaster too. Praying all is well with u. Did u get that slime fixed. ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
That was a beautiful documentary, and if I may say so, when they mention people fall in love on the Camino, I think you did find that special person to love on this journey, yourself. Thank you for a wonderful share this was a great video <3
The was I started crying with you because I am so emotional even if I have never been on a camino but just know deep down right now that this is a part of my story and that I just have to do it as well and you inspire me so much ❤🥹🤗🫂
Hi Stephanie, you make great videos! Congrats and thank you so much for being so informative compared to many others I’ve watched. Keep it up! Just one thing I need to ask… how much do your backpack weigh? Which model Osprey was that? Thanks a lot.. in anticipation for your reply.
