Nah, i always put up with the problems it offered. But not the starter motor, thats too much 😅 to replace the starter motor on an old 2.3td you have disassemble a lot in the engine bay, including the exhaust manifold on the block, because ot overlaps with the starter 😅😅

Azért elég baszón néz ki a sidepipe-al. Nem fért volna fel egy valami gyárinál nagyobb dob ami tudott volna többet fogni a hangon?

Nem volt rossz, de sajna nincs semmi hely, egyik oldalon a torzió, a màsikon meg a hajtàs, ez volt a lehető legnagyobb "dob" ami oda befért az egész hosszon. próbàltam még tompítót rakni a végébe (mint a motorokon szokàs), ami segített 1500as fordulatig, aztàn viszont még rosszabb volt 😂 Most mégig van vezetve megint a remdszer, és csak egy gyàri dob van rajta, meg a katalizàtor nem került vissza, viszont a gyàri dob hatalmas, és a csőméret is szűkül a végéig, igy megint tök csendes a gép. Nekem nagyon gyanús hogy ilyen kis hosszon meg ilyen kis helyen lehetetlen épeszű hangerőt kicsikarni belőle 😀

maybe there are other options that with a T-couple in the coolant return may be functional for the frontera's, but requiere study of sizes/racors

I'm sure there are plenty other options, but this is the most cheap and simple there is, unless you find an original one 😀 for every other solution you need something extra, like couplers, extra hoses, redirecting the flow, etc. This is as simple as it gets, and simplicity is always just as important as the solution itself 🥂

It's the display for the rearview camera. There is limited visibility to the back, plus all the rear windows are blacked out, and it helps a lot not hitting old people at the shopping mall who tend to wander behind the car in the most inappropriate times 😅😂 ..dont ask me how i know 😂

Wow! Lots of light from these leds. Warning about these Chinese cheap led bulbs because it can burn the mirrors inside headlight assembly. Greetings from Finland I just bought also very nice Frontera A with 2.2 x22xe engine only 170tkm driven. Have watched all your videos and like to see more content. ✌🏻

Thanks, and there will be more 🥂 i have a few spare headlights laying around, so whatever happens i'm prepared 😀 nice, a 2.2 has a bit more power, great for the driving dynamics, plus yours have coil springs on the rear, so the comfort is also a step-up from the older ones. Just be sure to take care of that ECOTEC, and it'll be a nice rig for many years to come 🥂

@@itsNotmimiX awesome, its worth is, looks great with it!! If i remember correctly it took the whole set of raptor liner, as i sprayed it till there was no more to spray 😀 half of it would probably be enough for a full coverage though 😀

@@ThePeca1988 Well, in my price range and my country the offer is quite limited. Both have some advantages and disadvantages, so I'll probably go with the type I'll find eventually. But the engine sound of the diesel is not as "bad" as I've expected.

@@vonmeier in my opinion the 2.2dti is the best and cheapest diesel to maintain, most parts are still produced, available and mostly are cheap, for the older diesels like the 2.3dt and the rare 2.8tdi you will find yourself most likely in a struggle, as parts are slowly becoming out of stock everywhere, or if you find it, the prices will be astronomical. The only problem though with the 2.2dti is that it's only available on the second generation of Fronteras. What in itself isn't a huge deal, but they are very rust prone in climates where there is salt on the roads in the winter. Rear wheel arches are mostly gone (but the rust is hidden behind the plastics), and the frame itself is also usually rusted out in the rear. Inspect it very carefully for rust before buying!! In my honest opinion the best thing you can buy from the Fronteras is the short wheelbase "A" Frontera with the 2.0i petrol engine. Bulletproof engine, and quite simple too, and it also has enough power for the small short wheelbase body. I had one, and it was quite good, i just needed cargo space so i went with the long wheelbase

Most of the people I know - rightfully so, haha - try to talk me out of buying such an old car, it's nice to find someone with positive attitude. I'm planning to use the car for cargo as well, so I have to stick with the longer models. There is a 2.3D from 1994 for sale, I'll check that probably. I'm a bit scared of the parts problem, but I just don't like modern cars at all, I have to gamble on this.

@@vonmeier it'll be ok, if it works allright then it will most likely work for the next few years just as well. The good thing about these old cars is that there is not much to go wrong, and most of the stuff just works. They were made differently back then, so maintenance is also usually easy . If you look at that 2.3td, the first thing should be is to try a coldstart, that way you will know if the glowplugs are ok or not, then just let it run (listen to the engine for noises, timing chain rattle, and so on), test drive, and then let it run even more, that way you'll find out if the cooling is ok (thermostat, cooler, heater core, etc.), then when its at operating temperature (after the test drive) look at the oil pressure, thats pretty important, there is a gauge on the instrument panel, and if it shows barely any pressure at idle then its bad news. It will maybe drive another year or two, but not much more. As this old diesel achieves oil pressure not just via the oil pump, but also the main bearings. Also, at coldstart it should be pegged to the max (as the oil is cold, and makes a lot more pressure). If these gauges don't work be absolutely suspicious!

Ciao peca .. sul mio 2.3 Frontera a caldo al minimo mi si accende la spia ad intermittenza pressione olio .. a freddo va bene ma a caldo lampeggia quando è ferma .. sotto ho montato il 10w60 Castrol e sembra migliorare ma solamente a regimi medio alti la pompa olio è introvabile; il 15 w50 potrebbe migliorare la situazione ? BARDAHL a livello di pressione oppure aspetterei l estate ?

CIAO! prima o poi dovrai riparare la pompa dell'olio, ma ovviamente fino ad allora l'olio ad alta viscosità aiuta ad aumentare la pressione. se non trovi una pompa sostitutiva o dei suoi componenti da nessuna parte, puoi misurare gli ingranaggi al suo interno e acquistare qualcosa di universale, poiché la maggior parte delle pompe dell'olio utilizza questo tipo di ingranaggi (e talvolta anche della dimensione esatta)

@@ThePeca1988 ciao il mio mecca L ha smontata tutta e gli ingranaggi ⚙️ sono consumati insieme al albero e non riesce a rimediare .. se si ferma cambierò motore magari con u qualcosa che non sia Opel 😁 grazie peca .. tu che montavi sul 2.3

Peca. Ma megyek megnézni egy A-s Frontit 8 szelepes benzinessel, de érdekelne a véleményed róluk. Hetek óta túrom a netet, de nagyon kétes dolgokat olvasok róla. Vagy iszonyatosan rühellik, vagy rajonganak a Frontiért. Neked volt már dolgod párral ahogy látom a csatornán úgyhogy releváns lenne az infód! Köszi! :)

Szeva! Örülök ha segíthetek! Igyekezlek azért megkímélni egy 6 oldalas vàlasztól, mert erről akàr napokig is lehetne témàzni 😀 Benzines A Frontiból, legalàbbis a 8 szelepesekből 2 opciód van, vagy a rövid tengelytàvú 2.0i, vagypedig a hosszú 2.4i. A 2.4i kezd màr kőkorszaki technika lenni, elég stabil konstrukció, és nem rossz motor, ha baja van se túl vészes vagy dràga, viszont az alkatrészellàtàs màr akadozóban, vannak dolgok amiket màr hasznaltan se nagyon kapni, vagy csak aranyàron 😬 a motor maga egy pofonegyszerű konstrukció, làncvezérelt, minimàlis sallangokkal, viszont őszintén szólva kicsit gyengécske a nagy kasztnihoz, és talàn ez is a legnagyobb negatívuma. A fogyasztàsa teljesen àtlagos 9-10L, persze összkerékhajtàssal ez lehet nyugodtan 14-15is. Az Opel nyolc szelepes 2.0i motorja viszont vilàgi. Persze mostanra màr idősek, igy semmire sincs garancia, viszont még rengeteg szalad belőlük, az alkatrészellàtàs bőséges, és ez a motor talàn az Opel elmúlt 30-40 évének a legjobb motorja. Elég erős magàhoz kèpest, a kis 2 ajtós rövid kasztnit szépen viszi (persze nem sportkocsi, de azért adja). Nagyon megbízható motorok, és ezt úgy mondom hogy legalàbb 5 ilyen motoros kocsi volt a csalàdban + az én rövid tengelytàvú 2.0 Frontim pàr éve. Én szerettem és elégedett is voltam vele, motorikusan szinte bombabiztos jàrgàny, és ha baj van sincs baj, akàr ha el is szakadna a vezérszíj (mert ez szíjas), a dugattyú sosem éri el a szelepeket, így àltalàban baja sem lehet 👌 Persze jól nézd àt, bàrhogy is sikerül csakis àllapotot vegyél 🍻

@@ThePeca1988 Köszi a választ! Ismerem a 8 szelepest még a Calibrából, családba is volt vele egy A vectránk. Pontosan emiatt keresek olyat. Az se érdekel ha lomha, mert egy csótánymotor :D. Világégést is túléli. Alvázra van valami jellemző hely ahol szokta kezdeni a rozsdásodást a fronti? Kasztnin úgy látom a szokásos ívek szélén szokott elindulni. Amúgy elég fasza a csatorna, jók a szerelős videóid. Kicsit megnyugtattak, hogy semmi sem atomfizika ezen a kocsin és nem nagyon szopat le például a fűtőventi csere mint pl a B5 Audimnál ahol a teljes műszerfalat ki kell venni hozzá :D

@@imkeszEz a jó hozzààllàs 😀🍻 pontosan ezért vàlasztottam én is a régi benzines "A" Fronteràt, mert pontosan olyan mint egy jól bevàlt régi traktor 😀 pofon egyszerű, olcsó, és csak megy kb a vilàg végéig, és ha valami történik is, azt kb egy kalapàccsal meg egy csavarhúzóval tudod is javítani, pont mint egy régi traktoron 😀 soha nem volt traktorom, de ha lenne, az pont ilyen lenne 😂 Rozsda szempontból egész jól tartjàk magukat, persze nagyban függ attól is hogy milyen életük volt, de én még régi Frontival nem talàlkoztam ahol probléma lett volna a rozsda, ellenben a "B" Frontikkal amik jellemzően elporladtak kb màr 17-18 éves korukra. Az alvàzat nézd àt, nem szabadna hogy le legyen rohadva, elég jól megcsinàltàk őket annakidején, a kasztnin pedig a küszöb hàtsófele jellemző, meg aztàn onnan indulva a hàtsó kerékjàrat, meg a hàtsó kerékjàrat mögött egész hàtul a két sarka ahol àltalàban megàll vagy 2 kiló sàr. Viszont ha nem talàlsz rajtuk vészes rohadàst sehol, akkor hihetsz a szemednek, mert valami úton módon ezek messzemenőleg nem rohadnak úgy ahogy az újabbak. Viszont akàrhogy is van, a karosszériàn nincs teherhordó elem, az az alvàz igazàból ami mindent visz, így jogilag még akkor sincs baj ha lyukas valahol, mivel mem önhordó, igy még normàl esetben műszakin se köthetnek bele, csak ha nagyon akarnak 😀

@@ThePeca1988 Hirdetéseken is szebbnek tűnnek sok esetben a régiek. Megnéztem ma a gépet, de sajnos eléggé sok helyen volt rozsdás a kasztni ahhoz képest, hogy milyen drágán akarták adni. Van még egy 2.2-es X22XE motoros gyártásvégi Fronti eladó. Igaz nem rövid verzió, de szerintem az is megnézem élőben. Abban már frissített beltér van. Köszi az infókat! :)

Hi! No, I haven't changed the heater core yet, but i hope i will never have to do that, as far as i know its a huge job, and most of the dash has to come out for it to be accessible. Check for leaks first, if you are lucky there is someplace other than the heater radiator, and maybe it can be fixed without disassembling half the interior

Ciao peca .. il contagiri si blocca e dal vano motore si sente un cigolio in movimento che sparisce dopo gli 80 km/h quando ritorna a funzionare il contagiri.. che potrebbe essere secondo te ? Grazie amico mio 👍❤️

hey 👋 penserei che sia il cavo del tachimetro, non so esattamente dove sia collegato, ma penso che vada al cambio. Lo smonterei e guarderei cosa sta succedendo lì dentro, forse gli ingranaggi a volte si impigliano ea volte scivolano, questo spiegherebbe almeno il rumore

Ciao peca ❤ ci sono anche per il 2.3 ? Quando prendo buche oppure avvallamenti sembra che si smonti e caschi a pezzi la carrozzeria sono scosse secche che in velocità fanno anche sbandare .. grazie

Hey 👋 si, sono uguali anche sulla 2.3td, non guasta mai sostituirle, ma nel mio caso anche le boccole sono difettose, sostituirò quasi tutto anche davanti, tutte le parti in gomma sono molto vecchie e screpolate, e quasi tutti hanno qualche gioco

Der Auspuff war kaputt (komplett gebrochen), also war der Endschalldämpfer außer Betrieb 😄 Ansonsten war das Auto solide, obwohl es voller lästiger elektrischer Gremlins war, außerdem musste ich den Zylinderkopf wechseln, weil eines Tages der Zahnriemen gerissen ist. Aber ansonsten war es ein schönes, solides Spaßauto

Hey! I have been struggling to get my door panel up, i need to get in because the outside lock fell inn, and i cant get past the window roll. Do you have a solution?

This problem i havent came across YET (😅), but i would definitely stick the lock back in place (glue, silicone or something similar), as some plastic tabs are most likely broken. If you really cant get there from the inside (tried rolling the window up and down, and there is still no access), i would try it from the outside, maybe with magnets to get it into place (or some similar wizardry), so it can stick right back to its place Edit : if the lock has a retainer ring (sometimes it does) then look for it in the bottom of the door first, and if you find it then you can start to come up with a plan 😀 if i know correctly you should be able to access the lock without a complete disassemble

Hey! A caldo dovrebbe essere normalmente intorno ai 500-700 giri al minuto, a freddo può essere superiore a 1000. Controllare il collegamento nel vano motore se è completamente retratto quando il pedale non è premuto, può essere semplice come quello

sarà un lavoro divertente! non dovrebbe essere estremamente difficile, ma dovrai smontare un bel po' di cose. Non dimenticare di ordinare in anticipo tutte le nuove guarnizioni, guarnizioni e o-ring 🥂 una volta fatto, il motore rinascerà 👌

Ciao peca ... perché la pressione del olio a caldo e al minimo sfiora sempre la tacca rossa e mi si accende leggermente la spia del olio ? È normale ? Durante la marcia funziona perfettamente 😅

Ehi amico, non va bene. O la pompa dell'olio ha bisogno di attenzione, oppure i cuscinetti dell'albero motore lasciano andare la pressione dell'olio, ed è per questo che hai quella poca pressione. Entrambi richiedono molto lavoro e sono costosi, quindi è meglio passare a un olio un po' più denso, solo per aumentare un po' la pressione. Tuttavia, non credo che il motore si guasterà presto, tutti i diesel hanno una pressione dell'olio relativamente bassa

@@danielemercuri1268 si, lo so, è normale, la pressione è sempre più bassa quando il motore è caldo, in quanto l'olio si assottiglia. Il problema è che diventa troppo sottile per il vecchio motore e non riesce più a creare una pressione sufficiente al minimo. L'olio che stai usando è un buon olio, ma ha bisogno anche di un buon motore per funzionare correttamente. Proverei 20w50, è un olio un po 'più denso, penso che aiuterà con questo problema. Sarà un po' più ruvido nelle partenze a freddo, ma dovrebbe mantenere la pressione dell'olio sufficiente

@@ThePeca1988 grazie mille peca .. ho fatto il tagliando da poco e di solito lo faccio dopo 12000 13000 km spero non mi crei danni ! Uso anche ad ogni pieno il 2ehn 250ml , 120 olio t Marino , e 90 ml di acetone per 80 litri di gasolio .. la macchina è molto fluida nel erogazione e consuma un po’ meno al minimo è molto più silenziosa .. grazie mille per i consigli sei sempre molto gentile ❤️

Hey, were you in 4x4 drive during this video ? I know the frontera doesent have central diff so its 4x4 cant be used on asphalt roads. I see that most of these roads are covered in snow, but there are parts that dont have snow or have very little, isnt it dangerous for the front drive ? Or it would need to be like proper dry asphalt ?

I'd say it isnt a problem as long as one of the front wheels can slip a little, time to time, small patches of asphalt are ok, as long as it is then snowy again. Usually i dont use 4x4 on the road, just when the rear starts slipping like crazy or the roads are mostly snowy, but then its allready slippery enough not to bind up the front, so in my case it works out just fine. Allthogh one should disingage the 4x4 right away when the road is only wet, thats allready enough grip to catch the gears by surprize

@@scouter7405 no problem mate, it will do just fine, the best tactic is to wait for the rear to slip, when it does then you are good to go to switch to 4x4

@@scouter7405 ничего страшного нет ездить на двух мостах тем более зимой по заснеженной дороге. Главное чтобы колёса не отличались в диаметре и не была включена межколесная блокировка, которой у Фронтеры нет с завода. Единственное передний привод рекомендуется отключать при быстрой езде на сухом покрытии для экономии топлива.

Их нет, вы должны поджимать педаль газа или газовую тягу в моторном отсеке, чтобы получить более высокие холостые обороты. Или можно сделать дополнительную тягу к педали газа в салоне, из-под торпеды, думаю будет хорошо

Hey! It was doing just fine, there was a little less place for the coolant to expand to when warm, so with the new tank the max. "cold" level was about at ¼th full, that way it was happy without any refilling needed

Non ancora, ma vicino. Faceva sempre più caldo, poi dovevo riempirlo, ed era meglio, quindi lo riempivo ogni 3-4 giorni con acqua, ma non era una soluzione a lungo termine

Ho la macchina dal meccanico perché ho il giunto viscoso della ventola di raffreddamento che deve essere sostituito insieme al motorino alzavetro elettrico anteriore sinistro ... che tu sai L alzavetro è compatibile con gli altri modelli simile al mio frontera 2.3 ?

Ciao io ho la spia della temperatura del acqua praticamente è sempre ferma non si muove in questi giorni sto cambiando il giunto viscoso della ventola di raffreddamento.. la lancetta della temperatura del olio sta sempre giù poi va su 👆 e ci rimane ... 3 lo sterzo ha un gioco incredibile per andare dritto devo guidare con lo sterzo rivolto di 40 gradi a destra 😢 domani dal meccanico

Ciao! Il sistema di raffreddamento dovrebbe essere semplice, devi solo sapere qual è la temperatura reale effettiva, quindi puoi trovare facilmente il problema. Il manometro dell'olio è un'altra cosa, dovrebbe essere al massimo quando il motore è freddo, quindi un po' meno quando è caldo. Per quanto riguarda la lenta accelerazione, devi solo alzare la pompa del gasolio, e dargli un po' più di spinta attraverso il regolatore, il mio girava intorno a 1,2-1,4 BAR (~20psi), forse un po' di più, e andava piuttosto bene 🥂

you can do without webasto. just add an additional pump to the cooling return and the cabin will be hot. works for me and I'm happy.

I thought of other solutions too, but i would have needed to replace the heater core first for anything to happen, as there was absolutely no flow through it anymore, and thats a job i wouldnt do in the winter 😬

It was shot with a "potato", and this "effect" is the price to pay when stabilizing that footage. It is either shaky or blurry 🤷
