All Cadillac Models equipped with the CUE infotainment system have a serious design flaw- the touch screen glass material is prone to separating after a few years of use, leading to cracking or no response to commands. Of course, the problem only appears after the factory warranty is expired.
The CUE module unit is fully functional, only the touch screen that is defective. However, the dealer will advise that the only repair possible is a total CUE module replacement, at a cost of $1,500 plus programming and installation.
At cuescreens.com, we offer you another solution. We sell OEM grade touch screens that you can replace yourself and fully restore your system for under $150.
Our displays are tested 3 times before shipping and are the highest quality available anywhere. Don't be fooled by other cheap replica screens that will have you doing the replacement twice.
Perfect video, have been dealing with this screen issue since our brand new 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee turned 2 years old, from 2020 till today it just got worse each year.. Ordered the 8.4" screen and followed this video, everything is back together and working like original from the showroom floor.. Wont take much to outlast the original lol so we will see, but thank you for the detailed video
This was the most shitass fucking tutorial i have ever watched, just circle the screws that need to be removed, dont show in realtime you removing every single one, the pauses are so unfathomably long and wholly superfluous. For the love of Jesus Christ in Heaven, do not cut to a zoomed in shot of some part of the system, leaving the viewer to figure out where this component of the system is, especially if you expect a viewerbase of people who cannot follow the simple direction of not touching the white cables. While I was successful in my replacement of the screen, and reinstallation of the CUE system, I found that this tutorial, and that which described how to remove/replace the system as a whole, to be very frustrating.
First, you should State that you should disconnect the battery before starting this procedure.2. There are 6 screws holding the arm rest compartment, not 4. At the end of the video, you stated, it's an XDS instead of an X.T.S
I just installed this screen (which I bought from cuescreens) and it does look better than oem and was a relatively easy and quick job. However the screen is only responsive to touch inputs for a few seconds and then doesn't register any inputs. Also when I touched the climate tab it disappeared and hasn't returned. Is there a period of time I need to let it sit to calibrate and configure itself? From the ending of the video and all the comments here it sounds like this should be instantly ready to go. Any help would be appreciated!
because they are huge, and a visual obstruction for the driver. I don’t want to just remove the screen and leave the metal mount. My kids use there phones anyways.
Excellent videos. Thank you! My car was not as easy as it looked to get everything off before removing the unit. Had to force most items including the bezel that I thought would break. After that, pretty straight forward. Saved a bunch!
pro tip --- duct tape along the top and bottom to keep it together before you unscrew it so you don't have to worry about it coming apart. Blue tape works great for it also.
So glad I found this video. Being blamed by parents for breaking their screen when I didn't do anything. It looks just like this. But anyways how much does one of these replacement screens cost?
I bought one for my Compass 2018. It is mounted in Romania, Europe and everything works perfectly. I hope it will be more resistant than the original one. I will return with opinions after a period of use.😊
Awesome PRODUCT and awesome tutorials! Spot on. I was so nervous taking this on, that i let the new screen sit in the unopened box for weeks after arrival. Finally dug in today after watching both videos twice. I checked each step 3 times to make the install went correctly on my 2017 XTS. FINALLY after 1.5 years of dealing with phantom touches, while never responding to my touch, my car went into nanny mode with the silly "dont take your eyes off the road" screen. Since the OK button was inoperable, my car was stuck there. Final straw. Took on this tutorial today, and it works perfectly. Thank you! I hope you folks sell a million of these.
I replaced the screen a few days ago. Looks great and no more glitches. BUT CarPlay has completely stopped working when I plug the phone in with a USB cable. The USB ports won't even charge my phone or a set of headphones. It's like the ports are now dead. Anyone else have this problem? Did I forget to attach something before reinstalling the deck? @cuescreens
Excellent video!!! Put the new screen in today with the help of an engine mechanic friend . Your step by step tutorial and high quality replacement screen made it easy and fun. There is a bit if a learning curve for a girly girl like me but proud to say it’s done and came out perfect ❤
I just installed the CueScreen in my SRX. Absolutely fabulous product and is working as the original! The video is bang on and if you take your time and are patient, this installation will go well. Watch the video a few times and have it with you when you take everything apart, including the trim on the car. Thank you very much for saving everyone a pile of money. The dealer here in Canada wanted $2250+Tax for this installation with the screen. I would give you 10 stars if I could!!!!
I watched video 3 times did everything you said and the touch screen doesn't respond i took back apart put back together twice and still wont work please advice
The leather console pieces will not budge! I have the pry tools (and physical strength), but I'm pulling on these sooo hard and they're not breaking loose. I'm afraid something is going to break with as much force as I'm using. Both the right and left side. Any ideas for me? Thanks!
Got the center console pieces popped off. Wife helped with prying as shown in the video while I grabbed the top forward section and pull rearward. It required A LOT of force to get these off but, thankfully, nothing broke. Thanks very much for this video.
Just had my UConnect screen go out completely my 2018 Ram Laramie 1500...no delam of the screen...just black. The dealership said "a component was defective in the radio" but they wouldn't say any more...other than the fact it's going to be $1000 to replace the "radio" (payable immediately upfront) and a 1 month wait for the "radio" to come in. Only the screen is dead. The radio, telephone, etc. works fine. Would this screen replacement work or could it actually be a "radio" issue?
@@CUESCREENS thanks! A couple of weeks ago, I did a video on my experience with the dealer. Your solution makes more sense than what they were trying to get me to do. They wanted to replace the whole radio system and said it'd only be warrantied for two years. And, I'm sure the new system doesn't come with a gel-free screen.
Got a screen from you guys installed and it’s black nothing works what so ever. My antenna cables are damanged also, please help I’ve gone through ribbon cables multiple times they are in correct.
Hi, this is why we make it a point to NOT disconnect the fragile thin cables during the install. Its to prevent damage to your radio. Nothing is working because you damaged your radio
Awesome video! Thanks so much as this was exactly what I needed to find. Took me about 45 minutes because I’m no ninja at getting behind the screen while hitting the windshield. Best advice came from the comments that you don’t have to remove the motherboard from the LCD screen. You just need to remove the bottom fat ribbon and the other two small ones can stay attached to the LCD. Touchscreen worked great afterwards and everything!
Very good instructions. Thanks for the help! I did this task with no issues. Patience and paying attention to detail in the video and the task will allow anyone to accomplish.
