PHEW at least Sharks fans can't lord this over us Knights fans as much anymore🥲 YAYYY for having a cup in 6 years as promised😀 Sharks get a tanking tirefire of a squad along with memories of past playoff futility :p
As a Sharks fan, I come back to this clip to feel alive every now and again, especially with how deep in rebuild we are right now. Hoping for epic games like this again in a few seasons.
I remember driving home after watching the whole game 3-0 thinking we had it in the bag. Listening to the radio it literally seemed like less than 5 minutes total. It was unbelievable literally. I couldn’t believe what I was hearing
I wanted Thornton to win a cup so damn bad. But I gotta say the 5min major is the dumbest rule in all of sports. 5min of unlimited scoring with a man adavanted. lol this day in age. Come on lol. Like that weird hit /fall switched the outcome of the series winner. So dumb.
@AnIgniSign yes, the call was so bad that the NHL had to apologize because it was so inaccurate. Those refs got an early vacation for calling a 5 minute major check to the head which anyone can see was a simple check to the chest. Not our fault that Joe landed on his head. No big deal. We won it in 2023 😊
I’ve never seen a team basically dedicate a player on the PP to just screen at the right time, it worked so well I’m shocked that strategy isn’t employed more often.
The fact San Jose didn’t make it to the Stanley cup with type of performance was saddening but yeah they had an empty tank of gas by the time they played St Louis
I ain’t a Sharks and definitely not Vegas fan but that call probably get reversed to a minor today . People complain about the call but it is what it is but Vegas at least tied it and still had a chance to win .
