Drone and Photography in urban areas around Manchester and North west of England. I mix a few in there of the beautiful countryside around the rest of the west and The Peak District. Relaxing music in the background, enjoy the stunning views from Skyscrapers to rolling hills.
🔹English Heritage object to Viadux2. Does this mean the end of viability for the 23 storey Affordable tower too? 🔹MMU object to Percy Brothers Hotspur Press scheme on the grounds that only 6% of properties are affordable. Surely 6% being better than 0.% and staying derelict for another 20 years. 🔹The Vision site in shot, on Whitworth Street West, despite having groundwork completed, in this iteration may not be arrive as alledgely it's in receivership.
I remember the old Manchester it only seems five minutes ago, but it’s over forty years old, it really looks impressive but I can’t help thinking hoe high the rents are , will tenants struggle for everything else, will these be future slums, ?? Well it’s a quick profit for the capitalists, why can’t we build decent houses for families
Seem a bit stupid having two cities bordering each other. Maybe they need to join up in the future and create the 3rd biggest city behind Birmingham and London
Folks from Salford and Manchester are proud of their identity and cities. Multiple cities side by side happens all the world. New York and China have similar situations
Fantastic drone scenery, indeed! the Dantzic street in Manchester is amazing; this ambience really impresses me. Thank you for sharing it with us to see.👍👍
Thank you again for your interest and wholesale coverage of development. 👏 You get very much a sense of scale from your film. Victoria North is probably the largest regeneration in Europe and a 25 year, approximately, project. If you take a look at Chetham's Hospital (Library) and the interior of the Cathedral you will see that it is sandstone of a peculiarly "purplish" colour. This is Collyhurst sandstone. In around 1421 the material was brought from the quarry down the river Irk that runs through the centre of your scene to be used. One of Mcr's oldest roads was Long Millgate.( Corporation Street was only built in the 1840's when Mcr was made a Corporation). Until then Long Millgate was the main thoroughfare from the old market place (Behind Marks & Spencer) along near where New Cathedral Street is now, past the rear of the Cathedral, alongside the entrance to Chetham's and alongside Victoria Stn (now disappearing under the New Victoria construction) to Ducie Bridge. I understand in your area, Red Bank the area on the left where the soil has been levelled permission has just been given to bid for Red Bank Plateau and another Red Bank area. Near the former railway line to Dean Lane. On the right near the former Ragged School on the site of the former gas works the Far East Consortium should be building some apartments. At Sandhills Metrolink are wanting to build a halt. Also! ▶️ Salboy & Domis revised Viaduct2 on Lower Mosley Street, next to Beetham Tower. The original 15-storey office block next to Viaduct1 was jettisoned. Working From Home is a game changer, offices aren't as attractive as they were formerly. Salboy & Domis came up with Viaduct2 a, b & c, including a 23 storey affordable tower built to a parallelogram shape to fit between Viaduct1 and the Beetham Tower, a 2 storey public realm construction and a 76-storey tower the largest residential tower in Europe. Viaduct2 has been in public consultation since the autumn. However last week the planning application was lodged with the council. This week in what could be a momentous week for Manchester architecture, the application will be heard. Jon, are you doing a 'special' 🤔. Challenge is on, between companies and between Salford and Manchester to provide signature buildings. 👷🚧 Ian Simpson the architect said when he started the city centre population was around 400 and he built pure apartments. Now the population is around 70k and rising North, generally with new graduates each year. In many towers there's gymnasia, cinemas etcetera, swimming-pools in some. At Viadux the swimming-pool is under the arches. As it stands, if they get the green light it's planned to award contracts Q3 2024 with construction commencing Q4 2024 with a 4 year envelope. Thank you once again for your interest and update. 🙂👍
Had a walk round there today near the Deansgate pub, walked round to Deansgate square. I’ll revisit it in a few weeks time. It would be nice to see the red bank properly start.
amazing video - im getting confused now - not complaing at all - just to know better what i can do i was under impresion that we are not allowed to fly close to buildings or we can ?
Depends which class you’re flying. I’m using a sub 249g drone. In reality I’m a lot further away than it appears on video. If you get to close you can get caught up in the draft that is created by large buildings. I will take off and land in multiple spots to get round a small area. This video was taken from at least three spots so I can remain in visual contact with the drone.
Happy Saint George's Day! 🏴🌹👍 Thanks for the update. 😄 As a collection they work, the Acer Tower and the stepped siblings. The green building next to the Acer Town is a new govt building with jobs moved from Whitehall. 🔹 Salboy building on Trinity Way, Salford the Obsidian, is ready to be constructed.
Hello! I am doing a student film project on the marina and would love to use some of your footage :) let me know if this is something you could help me with and would love to speak some mroe!
Thanks for your interest. This is quite an old video and I will have to check if I still have some files with the footage on. I happy for you to use some of the footage if it’s a nonprofit based project. Just remove the soundtrack.
Why are high rised apartments being built so close to Strangeways? There is definite problems of abuse from these apts in the future with regards to items finding themselves into the grounds of Strangeways or movement information. I's amazing how the obvious can't be easily seen!
Thanks so much. With the Trinity Towers, St Michael's Tower are going to be Mcr lanmarks. St. Michael's synonymous with luxury. Phase 1 is coming to it's end. Two law firms apparently have signed leases and Chotte Matte given the roof top licence. Phase 2 including the tower will house a five star hotel and luxury apartments ranging from £300,000 to £6,000,000 each so should appeal to creatives and footballers etc. After converting Mcr's former Stock Exchange in Norfolk street to Stocks Hotel, this is Relentless's vision.
Yes, I got a bit excited. Think I made a mistake but there is a third tower planned and I can’t see how it will fit in. It will get quite congested around Beetham tower soon
Thanks for heads up. I was at least 500 metres, hence the you only see this from certain angles. It was difficult not stray into the area, I don’t trust DJI geofence.
