🦋 Beautiful job explaining your process and self care! I’m watching so that I may be able to help elderly friend who is hoping to do home dialysis. It seems overwhelming right now, but you’re so calm and thorough. I hope to be this calm and care-filled with my friend. Bless you!

So are you loading the bags and tubes on the machine earlier in the day and leaving it all to sit a few hours until bedtime? Is that allowed? Or are all these steps performed each night at bedtime?

Is was very informative. I really dont want to start dialysis but your tutorial is making my decision a bit easier. My concern is lack of energy. I need to keep moving I have so much life to live. I will stay prayerful as I decide.

Hello from Guam. im currently a Hemodialysis patient with ESRD in the process of transitioning to PD home dialysis; ive been watching your videos since i got on Hemodialysis in October of 2023 and you have got me through my lowest days. I'm a father of 5 children and the thought of my life being over and my children still so young really put me in a dark place. I just want to say thank you for helping me through it all. my question is, if my sibling wanted to donate a kidney to me would their kidney be given to me or no? also how long is the process having a donor who wants to give you their kidney?

I had CKD Stage 4/5 for about 8 years, I was on the inactive list, I had a AV Fistula for Several years to prepare for Dialysis, and it eventually clotted, I did not get another one put in. Few more years went by, then my numbers started going down month by month, so kidney dr said to get a Graph, same arm as the failed fistula. About another few months, I went to the ACTIVE list, and about 2 weeks later I got a Kidney Transplant, but I had been on the list for little over 8 years, and since it was a lot of time, I got a kidney from someone who died. I did not have to do Dialysis, but was prepared. My brother has stage 5, and is doing Dialysis, I tell him what all he needs to do. Currently he goes 3 times a week for Dialysis with the 2 needles, been doing it since Dec 23. I am the older brother, be 64 in Dec 2024, he is 63yo. He says the needs hurt so bad, that he is going to do Peritoneal dialysis, he has class in a week or so, I went through the classes little over 9 years ago, but since he now wants to do Peritoneal dialysis I am refreshing my memory. I was searching the web, and seen your video, I too was worried how to secure the access. I will send him this link as well, BUT the belt is the way I would go to, the other string thing just doesn't look secure, and as you said, you can't really hide it, and if you could, I still would not use it, as it just doesn't look like it would secure the access compared to the belt.

As a patient I will compliment your setup and preparation nice job. ! 2 years doing both PD as well as hemo,. My machine is bigger but I had several different machine exchanges since they were giving so many false alarms.. drove me freaking nuts, so I finally reverted to manual,. My best regards

Thank you for sharing and being vulnerable. I been in dialysis since July 2022. My platelets keep dropping to I’ve been denied 2 times already. It’s an emotional roller coaster. So happy to hear you got your kidney. Did you get it from live donor or from a diseased donor?

My boyfriend has helped me feel so confident with my dialysis port to where I’ll wear a swimsuit (on pd) he’s never made me feel ugly or bad with my port and scars. It’s an amazing the support I have. I’ve been waiting 3 years and I wouldn’t be able to do this without him and my family

Currently, my eGFR reading is at 10% 😢 i felt so depressed knowing that dialysis would be the next step. I had CKD since I was diagnosed with lupus, which affected my kidneys, and after contracting covid in 2022 the reading went so low and continued to deteriorate further. I really want a kidney transplant, but its so hard to get donor 😭😭

I’m about to get my port for home PD. I’ve seen both of your videos on manual PD, and using the machine. It seems the manual PD is much less complicated. I was wondering what your thoughts are on both procedures? I’m leaning more towards manual PD after seeing this video. Are there any advantages/disadvantages to either type of treatment?

Thanks for sharing. I’ve been on hemodialysis for about ten months now. I’ve seen some comments that folks are so anxious & dreading going through the whole ordeal that they are about to have a “nervous breakdown!” I can assure you it’s not a death-sentence folks. There’s no pain involved w/hemodialysis, you basically just have to sit there for four hours, three times a week. The center I go to has your own personal TV, w/cable that you can watch, (which to be honest, is what you’d probably be doing anyway!) There’s no pain involved, so you don’t have to be anxious. I’ll be getting my port to start home PD in a couple of weeks, so this video was very helpful, & informative. Thanks again!

So very beautiful. I'm in need of a kidney. Currently on hemo. Hoping to switch to PD. Still believing God, rather He restores my own kidneys or blesses me thru transplant. Blood type is A+, female, 37 years old. Your story hits super close to home and gives me hope. Today, I was feeling kinda low and happened to come across your channel. This is the second video I watched because I was looking for an update to see how you were. So thrilled for you. The first video was of you showing the process of PD! God is able! I'm still here. He hasn't brought me this far to leave me. Believing for healing for all of us with this issue and any others. Much love. Be encouraged💙

I hope you're well and recovered; totally healed and restored from kidney disease. I was diagnosed at 11 and had to start dialysis last year. I have had many ups and downz with hemo-mostly due to access issues. I'm hoping to qualify for PD and plan to give it a try. Thank you for sharing your experience. I pray all who are on this thread are healed and made whole in Jesus name. Amen. Be encouraged all.

I saw a guy doing the peritoneal dialysis manually. No machine. And it finishes faster when lying down. He does it 3× a day. Bless the hearts of all who do this. I find it so hard and expensive if not covered. I wish you the best.

You have a great voice and this video is clear & detailed. I think you would be a good representative/advocate for peritoneal patient education. I hope one of the larger companies such as Fresenius or DaVita see this video and sponsor you or offer a position.🌞
