I got King Grayskull first as well. Should be getting the play-set next week. Congrats Jerod and also on becoming a new father. I have two small children and still find a way to collect MOTU and everything else.
Hey Jared, congratulations! What a great experience you have ahead of you; this playset is definitely a behemoth. Unfortunately for me, it was a miss, mainly because I was kind of tempered by the fact that the three towers were first introduced on screen under the Revelation banner, so it would have made a lot more sense to me to see it through the Masterverse brand (which, by the way, is cruelly lacking in diversity compared to Origins). As I've probably told you before, the strategy here is to fill in what Classics couldn't provide during its run, whether that be in terms of scale or aesthetics. 💯🧐
I got my King Greyskull 3 days ago with no email about the shipping and I live like 30 minutes away from Mattel warehouse so all the exclusive figures in the past I would always get them very quickly. No idea about the play set yet. I seeing ALOT of people getting there’s with really damaged shipping boxes so bad that the Enternia box is busted and dented and creased. The box weighs over 50 pounds. You would think there would be fragile or handle with care. Stickers all over the shipping box. People spent over 600 hundred dollars and to get it damaged is ridiculous!!
I’ve been seeing that!! Good thing I’m an opener. As long as the interior contents are good I’m happy but I hope I can actually frame the front panel of the box so hopefully it isn’t decimated!
Great review, as always. The Masterverse King Grayskull is one of my favorite figures from the Revelations side of the line, and this one looks really good as well. I could see maybe a singles release on a different card with different accessories, like the two swords Masterverse came with coming down the road. I've been a diehard fan of MOTU and the work of the Four Horsemen for years and have never seen that 200x prototype sculpt. How much greater would that line have been with all that additional articulation?
Thank you! Yes could you imagine what the 200x line really should’ve been? It’s heartbreaking that the 4 Horsemen even to this day still really haven’t been able to do their pure versions of the characters with all the articulation and sculpt they intended.
That's why I don't have an issue with this guy being exclusive. I had to move heaven and earth to get the money to back the set early. I have no issue releasing this guy again in a Caucasian version, but Mattel should keep this one EXCLUSIVE as they said the ORIGINally would.
I got this too (and Eternia), and if you like it good for you, but I am annoyed by the needless race swapping. The race swap was clearly done to pander to wokeness and DEI, and not for any genuine reasons. The MOTU Classics King Grayskull is still better, and I will just use that figure with Origins Eternia lol.

Totally agree... there are already black characters in the line. They should at least have stayed faithful to the canonical King Grayskull (who looks like He-Man).
