The word ישועה (yeshu'ah, Strong's #3444) is a noun derived from the verbal root ישע (Y. Sh. Ah, Strong's #3467) which means "relief" in the sense of being rescued from an enemy, trouble or illness. The King James Version translates this word as help, deliverance, health and welfare, but most frequently as salvation.

I see a lot of people evaluating the collar on themselves. Thats great, but they are in the house wearing rubber soled shoes. Now try it outside with bare feet. I had an electric fence around my garden. And occasionally I would touch the wire and get a small shock. Then I thought how this little shock was going to keep a cow or horse away from the fence. So, me being me with some knowledge of electricity I placed my hand on the dirt and touched the wire. It felt like someone hit me across the chest with a baseball bat. After I recovered, I checked myself for burns and all my body parts were still functioning, including my lungs and heart. Now the fence was rated for ten miles, and I see how a large animal would learn fast, just like me! But I will test the dog collar on myself with bare feet of my hand to ground.

Several decades ago I had a Siberian who I put into puppy boot camp because, Siberian. She did 30 days of intense obedience, and then I did 2 weeks of followup with her. She was pretty good at that point and I got the hang of it. One day we went out onto the deck to cook some burgers. She had her collar but I decided to have her lie next to me off the leash and run. Stupid me. I put the burgers on, which took about 8 seconds, and turned around and she was at the end of the yard already. I called her "come!" and she ACTUALLY did it. And then never did it again for the rest of her 13 years. Never, ever came when called unless she wanted to. :shrug:

Is your pup good at the heel command? If so, we use heel as a calming technique in the house when a distraction occurs. We have someone pass the house, heel the dog until calm and then drop the leash once they are doing well. We then repeat the process until a leash is no longer needed. This may sound like a lot of work but it actually goes very quickly. I hope this helps and pleased feel free to reach out with any questions!

Hi Oliver! I personally use a 3.0 for Mals because I like the strength it offers. Many people do use a 2.25 and like it, but I worry about a link bending if the dog is intense or drivey. I would avoid the 3.2 since it doesn’t tend to work as well and doesn’t add any advantage over the 3.0.

My 2-year-old collie does therapy visits and is friendly. When she is in a stay and someone approaches to pet, she will get up, allow the pet to the head, and turn her body so the petting continues to her back. Is that a problem? Question about the food: is it acceptable to say "leave it" but move at a faster pace past the item on the ground?
@SuburbanK9DogTraining
@SuburbanK9DogTraining 23 часа назад
Hi! It is definitely ok for the dog to stand when accepting petting. The dog isn't allowed to pull to get to the person though. If they stand up and just calmly turn that would be fine. Saying "leave it" and then moving at a slightly faster pace is not a problem at all. If it looks and feels fairly natural that should still be a pass.

Littermate owner here; thank you so much for the video. I see that we should be doing all of the training separate and then together but how often should they spend together during the day. We are working on crating in different rooms but when they both get up and go for their separate walks, then together, is okay for them to spend the day together in the house as well or should we always keep them separate?
@SuburbanK9DogTraining
@SuburbanK9DogTraining 7 дней назад
That is a great question Mary! If you are crating them in separate rooms, training then together and separate and doing one on one socializing trips then you are off to a great start! I wouldn't worry about how much time they spend together during the day playing or laying around together. The hard work you are doing ensures they are able to function separately and no amount of play time during the day will ruin that. Please reach out with any additional questions!

The collar riding high on the neck is ideal, but like you have noticed it rarely stays there. The main thing is to just fit the collar snugly so that it doesn't sit extremely low.

I tried to get him as comfortable as I can around the noises but our neighbor has a bike and if he revs it rocky(our puppy) spikes and tries to run. Walk for as long as you need to and then let them meet each other away from the house. If that goes well do some play sessions on neutral ground. @SuburbanK9DogTraining Sorry, I just meant that the usual video is quite short, and you have to balance imparting information with producing the video. Showing a dog going from completely untrained to perfect canine citizen would have been time intensive and really not helped impart the information any better than using Wallen. As for the perfect home, we like to think so! Your training methods are simple and clear-cut, and they're not only working, but they're also helping us bond. She's still not quite sure we're her new people, and training has helped her feel, I think, more secure. She still plays the game, but we're working on it, and she's come a long way. So, thank you for your videos. They've been really good for both ends of the leash.

Ah! That makes sense! We definitely struggle with the “ideal” video length. Too long and it gets boring and too short and people don’t get enough information from it. Our goal is to create a series for each command showing dogs at different training levels. That way everyone has access to a video that works for them. Thanks for taking the time to drop a comment and feel free to reach out with questions any time!!!
