I have been to many gigs in 40 years. But few others bring it, like RJD. I saw a Ronnie solo show in Phoenix, Arizona and - he was the real deal. There really wasn't any hype. It was full on, everything they ever said. It was an experience. Now 20-30 years later, just WOW ! (Which in no way should reflect any lesser respect for Ritchie).
Ritchie is one of the great survivors of that 60’s-70’s rock period, and he escaped being destroyed by it, by doing his own thing and not conforming. He has created a new genre of music which works beautifully and his partnership and marriage to Candice is the icing on the cake. I just love what they have created….bravo !

Yes Joe did sound great in rainbow, not sure why some fans are negative about him..? Personally like RJD i think Joe has a magnificent voice...those 2 are my favourite singers .then doogie white..RIP Ronnie 🙏🎶🎵

Obviously Ronnie didn't share the same sentiments about Ritchie. Though no ones perfect, I've seen Ronnies, dark, cynical, woah's me, arrogant side. Though I'd take him over Ritchie any day. As a musician.
I saw them on thier "Straight Between The Eyes" tour in 82. Richie looked half asleep and bored four songs into the set. Somebody threw a sharp object onto the stage and hit Richie in the leg for which he storms off. 40 minutes pass and half the theater is empty. The band gets back up on stage with a pissed off Richie with a blazing 2 hour set. Richie's playing was on fire when he came back. Surely jaw dropping phenomenal.Best Ive ever seen and Ive seen them all! If only it was filmed it would have been considered matbe the greatest performance ever by a heavy rock band
I saw these guys in concert back in 1982 for the Straight Between the Eyes tour.. the other act was Scorpions soon after releasing Blackout likely the best concert I ever saw
