Hello, thanks for sharing your knowledge, very good video, please can you help me with the following question: the gasket on the fluid level control valve (Fluid Level Control Valve) of a 6T40 Chevrolet broke, can I replace it with silicone Forma Juntex Tf Victor Gris, Have a great day and I appreciate your answer.
Is there a video apologizing to every shop in the country regarding that POS coated gasket that expands and loosens up the bolts cooking everything back to the 456? Torque converter included
First CB, I said damn it how'd I do that? Must've walked away or answered the phone 2nd one a week later. No way I did that twice. Started digging and found NUMEROUS shops across the country 3rd was a few months later wasn't mine but still cost the shop. Supposedly had to load in press, torque down with red loctite. Leave it pressed for a bit, come back and give 10 more inch lbs. Jump through I million hoops for a part that never goes bad from factory, only aftermarket. Rumor is that gasket quietly disappeared
Great video Dave! I recently received and installed a TC that showed up at my door with some pretty severe box damage, as if it was tossed around roughly by a disgruntled shipping employee. The TC looked fine, but I experienced a mild vibration between 2200 rpm and 2500 rpm. So I clocked the TC to the next bolt hole over and it changed where the vibration starts. Now the vibration starts at 2400 rpm through about 2600 tpm. Would you think that the TC got damaged from it being thrown around or it's just not properly balanced? Your opinion would be greatly appreciated!
I had a noise when shifting in N, and after a few minutes, it stopped and got low conversion in D . Is that might be a automatic transmission pump or torque converter?
I have a 2009 Aurion. This Winter im noticing a delay in drive when cold. It goes into drive fine. But shifting up from crawling pace it's indecisive in the first couple of gears
Dorman TCC(or the others mentioned that were the same) solenoid Part # is 926-408 if anybody needs it. Great Video! Thank you for posting. The last one I did, we had to buy a complete valve body from Subaru. Now with a separate solenoid available, the cost is $1000 less to repair this common issue.
Thanks for explaining the HIS accumulator. I’m installing a 2016 Grand Cherokee 850RE into a 2014 Durango, after swapping the TCM, and was concerned it wouldn’t work. I plugged the hole for the accumulator, and am confident now that it will work in my Durango, which didn’t come with HIS.
They are not junk as you say. Reason is very simple if you understand what AAMCO stand for "All Automatic Must Come out" and that is no joke that is what stands for it's the only way they can make money there is no money to be made by fixing and if you are lucky maybe you can fix problems sometime but have no way to know what condition is inside. I got lucky by replacing solenoid pack once and it did work for 3 years but now I am rebuilding my self the whole transmission it's not that hard at least not for me.
Hello, I have a 2011 mercedes ML350 BT 722.9 transmission. The code I have : 2805 range sensor! Do I need to replace the conductor plate or just the sensor ? Thanks!
Can I take one of the individual solenoids out of another pack and replace it in the my own? Are all the NC "normally closed" solenoids the same in every pack? I only ask because there's a shop selling a used back with a bad Underdrive solenoid and they replaced the whole pack for the customer. I can save hundreds of dollars and a lot less work to simply take the cover off while in the car, and replace that one bad solenoid. As opposed to having to remove the whole valve body just to remove the whole pack...
Question; s My miniature torque converter in my fiat / ram V6 2013 2z4 has zf8hp45 trans- RE: Stator ... Can the stator come apart if so how, & is there a roller. Earing that can. BE replaced ? If this procedure requires the 450 degree oven ? Or not. Thx moonlighter@jobrated46
Changed my conductor plate on my Merc. S 500, thru out old one. Later, found out I needed it to get program from it to make the new conductor plate work. Dealer won't help me, car has over 180 Mi. why has Merc. made it so difficult to aquire the parts and service to keep my car going? I refuse to junk my car .
subaru knows their plastic bushings used in the first few years of this transmission destroy the valve bodies thus they won't service just a solenoid because the valve body could be getting clogged and destroy the next one
My Problem started after the wife started regularly running through a Nice big Auto Car wash, i think it was Undercarriage high pressure wash that pushed water into Said Bearing killing what was left of its life. I replaced just the Bearing itself. Alittle tricky disconnecting the tiny pins in plug and remembering to put back together, I also used a Diff type ((Permatex)) vibration proof Sealant for reassembly, filled with proper Diff oil, BE SURE TO USE ANTI SEIZE LUBE FOR BOLTS, And be careful removing old ones, they can be stubborn due to "steel in aluminum corrosion,"Problem solved. Noise gone. Only had to purchase OEM Toyota dust cover ring and Bearing, consider Oil Seal behind coupler if it is leaking, mine was not, I didn't replace. Cheers. Hope it helps someone.
Is it possible to program an automatic transmission to not try to shift to the highest gear when in low or mid throttle? Unless manually shifting it, the vehicle's torque feels more responsive when the lowest gear used keeps the engine from dropping any lower than 2000 rpm in low throttle driving. But hey often go to the longest gear causing the transmission to takes too long to downshift.
I just rebuilt the valve body on my 2004 Ram 1500 545rfe and in the process I accidentally moved the TRS plate from its original position. Can you tell me where it should be located to match the park position of the gearshift lever?
Would these fail causing a very faint whizzing kind of sound hard to identify where it's coming from and not affected by actual acceleration but just rolling at about 30 mph and up? Faster the more pronounced and higher pitch. ? Anyone.
This worked great in my 2020 Corolla with the K313 CVT. The transmission was rough before and now it’s so smooth. I had this added when the dealer did a drain and fill. I’ve been using Lubegard additives in my cars and always had good results.
Thanks for the information just watching this now, I wanted to purchase a 2015 rx350 with this transmission any thoughts and advice to prevent this issue or is that possible, can you prevent by changing the fluid? Anybody's input is welcome.... Please advise I'm nervous to buy this vehicle I thought the 2015 rx350 had one of the most reliable 6 speeds Toyota did.
Following the maintenance steps found in the vehicle owner's manual is typically the best approach to keeping the transmission functioning properly throughout its service life.
Thanks for the reply I will be looking for an rx350 2015 model year defiantly looking for one with around 50-60 thousand miles on it first thing I will do is change the transmission fluid. I've always had OCD with changing transmission fluid because that's how you get the life out of them. The main problem with buying one with 80-90 thousand is most people don't change the fluid and then you stuck with there issues. Love Toyota & Lexus I've owned two Camry and three different models for Lexus, thew one thing I do not understand is if they had this TRANMISSION in production from around 2006 past 2015 you would think they would have worked out all the problems with this transmission, not that its problematic but, usually there really good with correcting problems over time, come on Toyota bring your A Game. I am very surprised that the rx 2010-2015 last so long because it sucha heavy vehicle to pull and you have all that strain on the transmission. I guess its not like the is or gs were you have significant more horsepower and torque. @@bobbymace5715
@@joshuapressley4441 You should consider the audience that Mike's addressing in the video. He's discussing the issues that technicians encounter once a transmission has failed. In most cases, whether it happens at 75,000 miles or 275,000 miles, the failure will take place due to one or a small handful of parts that fail. Mike is telling the techs to look for the most commonly encountered failure points and isn't discussing the overall quality or lack of quality for the transmission.
@@joshuapressley4441 I certainly didn't mean to offend you in any way. I am the publisher of Transmission Digest, the media brand that published Mike's video. My reply was an effort to put his video in context ... these are common issues with transmissions that have been taken into repair facilities. Our best regards to you.
I have a 2017 Colorado 4x4 and just got a new re manufacture trans and for some reason wen you put it in neutra it goes forward And I’m reverse it takes a lot of effort to move like it had brake a-plaid🤷🏻♂️ any help🙏🏻
DAVE. i have a 2009 chrysler town and country with the 3.8 V-6 engine and the 62TE 6 speed automatic transmission. it just went into limp mode and threw the PO76A code SOLENOID H MALFUNCTION. the engine and trans has 210.000 miles on them. i just changed the trans fluid and filter. not the converter fluid. i have tried everything to try and get it out of limp mode. nothing worked. will changing the solenoid pack cure this issue ? any info would be appreciated. thank you.
I have a 2016 caravan. I’m having the same problem. I’ve changed the solenoid that is above the trans control module and the filter and fluid and it’s still showing same code and stuck in limp mode. Any suggestions???
@@calebsmith6147 I have a 2011 dodge caravan turns On fine soon as I put it in gear it Boggs out an wants to shut off ima change the whole valve body and shift solenoid since I’m already there alone with filter. Did you change valve body ?
