Sending all best wishes to Julie, keep positive. And I often wish you could post maps of your rides. I know some of the routes you take, but others I don’t. If I’m missing something, and you do post them somewhere, sorry!
Julie, we're just happy to see you back out riding💯 If you can do it, do it! Being positive and keeping your immune system strong is good for you too! Just do whatever you must to get rid of the cancer, this is one that can be beat. We're pulling for you and sending all the positive energy we can! 🥰👏👏🏾
Good to see you riding, Julie. I was diagnosed with Stage 4 in 2010. Had chemo treatments on and off for about six years. Lost my hair more than once! 😊 But I'm still here. My chemo did cause serious fatigue for a few days afterwards. I kept my activities low key until my energy improved. I got used to the fatigue after each infusion. But the whole experience was basically uneventful. I'm sure your biking will help both physically and emotionally. Keep a positive outlook, it really helps.
Keep riding inbetween chemo cycles. Your fight now is with the toxic chemotherapy treatment, that may sound crazy, but that's how it works. Chemotherapy is equivalent to carpet bombing, it will destroy your cancer cells, but puts the rest of your body under immense strain. So plenty of sun(😂) for vitamin D to boost your immune system (which will suffer), ride as soon as able after each treatment to keep your strength and mental wellbeing up, and try to avoid well meaning people, who unfortunately want to sympathise and patronise your condition. My wife and I were recommended a couple of groups of cancer patients to go to, but after 10 minutes at the first one, we couldn't get out fast enough. Both volunteers and sufferers seemed to wallow in negativity and misery, you don't need either. I had some weird side effects from my chemo, you may also, or you might sail through, but keeping up your cycling is essential for wellbeing during the course of treatment, and a faster recovery. I hope you can get a P.I.C. line put in, it's a much better way to administer the chemo rather than a cannula. Anyhoo, that's enough from me Julie, heads up girl, and don't forget to milk it when Mike's around 😘😁. Best wishes to you both from Charlie.
Thank you so much for that advice. 🤗 I can't handle too much information at the moment. 😘 My peaceful time while walking has made a big difference already. 👌👍 I'll do my best to keep up cycling while on the treatment if i can. Thank you Charlie. 👍😀
Julie i will be thinking of you its a tough battle your facing. Think about all you have accomplished you are a strong accomplished woman with a great support system and all of your followers. We will keep you in my daily prayers. Wish i could do more for you and mike. Bunkie
Getting out on the bike even if it’s around the block will really help you with your recovery Julie. I know, fighting uterine cancer here for the past 3 plus years. Wishing you a speedy easy recovery.❤
Sorry to hear your news Julie that you need chemo, still love your positivity about it all and doing a yeee haaaa. It did make me chuckle though that Mike said you were in bed, little did he know. Make the most of the good days when you feel well and rest when needed. Sending hugs from Coventry xx
Cheers Heidi! Thank you for the vote of confidence 🤗 I really enjoyed being on the bike again and turning those pedals. 😊 I'm gonna do my best to beat this.
You will smash through the chemo Julie👍 and having something you love, like cycling, is such a big motivator and even a little pootle round can make you feel so much better❤
As many are saying and I realise easier said than done by good will. However it is one of the keys to help cope. I had to have chemo 2 years ago for my cancer. I walked in every time smiling , still rode although towards the end down to 30km. You have masses of support Julie … lots of yeeee haaaa’s in the tunnel… light is at the end x
Hi Julie, good to see you and Mike the other day. I’m still thinking of you both and wishing you all the best for a speedy recovery. When you are back to health you should re-book that well deserved Mallorca trip.
Well done Julie , positivity is the way ,it's one year in August since I had surgery to remove a tumour . Steady progress since Christmas and I am riding 3 times a week now , with your attitude, desire and love of riding you will get through this . Keep positive all the best .

We are totally in favour of the attitude of screw it Im going to get on a bike :-) Take it easy when you need to but keep going - Just need to hoover the leftover crap bits and hopefully you are done! Love from Steve and Susan !!
Stay strong and positive and you'll overcome this setback. Chemo can be a gut kicker but you'll beat this. Riding your bike will be good for the mental health. Looking forward to seeing you "out again". Take care, Rod
Julie, stay positive and keep looking and moving forward. One step / one wheel turn at a time... think no further... it won't help you. You got this... 🤗
Nice seeing you Julie on your bike , having Chemotherapy will tire you out but you being strong and a good sense of humour will help you cope with it , pineapple chunks in a resealable bag in the fridge will help your sore throat, plenty of water, lite meal s and just keep going ❤🍦
