Transit enthusiast making videos covering the planning and construction of transit projects in Southern Ontario.

On twitter I take about a wider range of things happening in the transit and urbanism space, as well as Toronto centric topics. I also make transit fantasy maps from time to time.

I'm excited about the future of transit in North America!

Eastern waterfront is weird and scary past parliament. There is a big construction area blocking everything off, looks industrial and deserted, there is no stores, no good street lighting, etc. That construction site needs to be gone.

@@TagusMan your problem (I presume with the ECLRT) is with SNC, not Metrolinx. It took them a long time but they’re finally coming close to meeting their objective for existing. The city has been looking at using the Presto card for the ferry for years. The ferry is run by the city's Parks and Recreation department so it's not just a simple matter of putting up fare gates. In the time Singapore built 3 subway lines, India extended its subway network to 20 cities and China gave us so many transit options that in HongKong without a smartphone its tough to figure out how to go from HK to mainland, liberal leftist l00ter of Canada has managed to spend more money than some of those cities on a white elephant called eglington which is still not up and has destroyed thousands of businesses, created tonnes of pollution and wasted billions just in digging and filling up. Toronto has grown so fast and so big and yet City Planners and Politicians at all levels of the government fail to equip the City to excel. It took the City years of negotiations to get the crosstown subway to start building but then all sorts of mismanagement leading to cost and schedule over the budget. While bike lanes are absolutely important for the safety of the cyclists City needs to understand before you take away the road space, which is already limited to begin with, for bike lanes, you need to have provisions such as more subway lines to ease (or take away) the vehicles congestion first. The planning, if any, seems to be fragmented and not fully integrated and run by various departments that each only concerns with its own mandate and not the City as a whole.

I’m not trying to be a meaner here and I mean it’s great that the place is finally getting some transit, but honestly, all it really needed to do was just build a denser city like New York. That alone could have saved us from all the trouble that we have today. Lol Like the fact that a city that only has 5-7 million inhabitants(GTA) could get such a horrible traffic(even worse than New York metropolitan area which is easily triple or quadruple the population) proves that how badly they designed the city.
