I'm Leanna. I upload motorcycle training videos ranging from CBT (Compulsory Basic Training) to DAS (Direct Access), ERS (Enhanced Rider Scheme) and Advanced lessons from my daily job as a motorcycle instructor. I also upload demonstration rides and occasional bike reviews.
I've been instructing since 2015 and my helmet camera is always on, so hopefully those of you new to riding, and those wishing to refresh your skills will find something useful on my channel.
I work closely with Roadcraft Nottingham, so if you haven't already, then head over to Russ's channel too where you will find a wider range of motorcycle related videos, as well as an excellent selection of instructional videos:

Thanks for looking, feel free to comment, like and subscribe, and see you soon. Leanna
An instructor on my mod 1 training said that an assessor wouldn't expect you to do 30mph due to discrepancies on the speed dial. Is this your experience?
I wasn’t brave enough at avoidance and hit the last blue cone on the right. Annoying as that was tha last cone on Mod1. One inch and I passed. I have to go again in 2 days.🤞
One extra mistake what I have done at my firts Mod1 test. Emergency stop. After when you have done it and stopped don’t forget to do the safety check before leaving the stand position. I thought the exercise is finished after my stop.🤷🏻♂️
Very good video, well done! I wish my instructors would have a same mood as you are in this videos! 😅 It really makes you calm if someone talking to you like this!😉👍
Just wanted to say thankyou for your advice in your videos. Passed my full access mod 2 today and it’s partly due to your videos. I was a nervous wreck on the way to the test centre, almost caused an accident. I later composed myself and passed with zero minors.
Grey videos and the information is out forward in a very nice way. I have learnt much more from your videos than I have with my train provider, mainly due to the way you explain everything and put it across. Thank you very much. I am presently doing my DAD and am 68 years old.
🌷🌹thanks leanna I've been watching your utube videos in prep for my mod 2 and passed today with your help. keep up the great work if I'm ever in Nottingham l look out for you on the road 🌷🌹
Just before ten mins at the roundabout looks like you come out when a van on your right is already coming around no? Shouldn't you of given way to them first even despite they were indicating to turn left?
He's clearly indicating left and the attitude of the van suggested that was what he was doing so no, I would rather not be rear ended by a car behind, by stopping to give way to a vehicle that is taking an exit. Thanks 😊
The text included in the video changes too quickly back to the video on some of the text slides, they need to stay as text longer so you can read the text fully.
You are an expert and excellent teacher/instructor. However, in this video at least, you are crossing the stop line at the signal crossing or moving off the stop line when its red and yellow. Seeing other videos they say we need to wait for the green signal as red and yellow is still classed as a red. Hope you dont mind. Looking forward to your videos.
Give me some time codes please. The camera angle is going to make you think I'm over the line by the way because of how the camera is angled on my helmet. If you can't see the line when I stop it doesn't mean I have gone over it. I'm very strict on this so I doubt you're seeing it correctly. Unless you can give me a clear time code where you think I'm moving off on red and amber, I can't see any instances where this is the case either. I go through two flashing ambers, which is permitted. There is one instance where you can't see the light change to green and I move off as soon as it does. Because I film these for educational purposes I do try to ensure things are done correctly, so at present, having watched it back I can't see what you're referring to.
Hi Leanna, thought I would refresh my memory with your excellent videos….I am now a year and a half on from returning to riding….your videos and advice have helped me so much, I have your voice in my head….so what have I found in returning after 42 years…..well, the roads are far worse, seems that indicators and use of mirrors is so old fashioned….and everyone is in a fine damn hurry…….the things I have learnt…..look well ahead, get good road positioning ….. keep good distance, but the one lesson I practice all the time….doing your correct lifesaver…….it works. The one thing I might point out, and it is I guess personal and everyone is different, but I find riding for two hours non stop, is now my maximum, to stay focused and to not get a tired throttle hand….never thought about this, but fatigue is very easy to ignore, that one more kilometre and I’ll stop….for me, I have my clock on my bike….2 hours, thats it….if I feel tired, I don’t ride….loving my NC750DCT..I actually enjoy the manual gear changing using the paddle shifters….oh and one other tip….practice very slow riding…..again thank you for your amazing videos.cheers Karl x
Lovely to hear from you and sorry it's taken me a while to reply. You've made some very astute comments and I'm glad to hear you're enjoying the bike 😊 Take care.
I passed my A1 mod 2 today with only one minor. Your vids have helped me a lot as I don't drive and I was doing all the mod 1/ mod 2 practise without an instructor. The point about moving back over to the left side when a junction was coming up on your right was really helpful on my test today, I had to do it quite often this morning.
Hi Leanna , Iv got my Mod 2 next Wednesday , I’d just like to say that your videos have helped me immensely, you are so clear with your instructions so on my lessons I always remember what you have said as well as listening to my instructor, thanks again and keep up the fantastic work, cheers, Stu ( Hartlepool) 😎👍🏍️🏍️
your bike is really smart.. Its would be my dream to have such a bike but, that fails for me though ,as I'm sticking to scooters right now at least for future . Just with more power I love touring bikes ..
I'd love you to be doing my tests in the future but I'm in North Yorkshire (Teesside) We have to some great riding schools. The folks I did my CBT with were really good (Thankfully) I never ridden a back (EVER). I hear some really horrific tails from other our our country about people doing there lessons and being yield at and this is not good when learning to ride. Its just numbs you and so much negativity ends up in you brain you just start messing up over and over I guess?. Your test needs to be safe and controlled and enjoyable .This lady is how all examiners should be...that's my opinion . Clam and level headed with new riders .. thanks you once again
I watch this amazing channel and one other from a Scottish guy who past his MOD 1 and MOD2 and has been ridding for some time now.. I still on my CBT ridding scooter....(please don't laugh) I be sitting my test this year bout going to stick to ridding scooter but high power . What you doing is a true selfless and amazing showing us the good and the bad as I'm spending hours learning everything I can. I still get nerves when out riding but this will pass with time as it took me months to fid the right scooter . Thank you very much ...Ride safe?
I am thankful for channels such as yours. I'm riding with CBT right now . I must admit that riding a bike is nothing like driving a car. Car drives just to care about bike riders ..They think when they see L plates that is some kid ...I'm 49 years old and without help from you and another channel it keeps me from picking up bad habits, I have forced myself to always remember turning of my signals as it is easy to just leave them on ... Thank you
Thanks, I'm glad it's been useful for you. Yes, the L plates are an issue but car drivers won't care when there are no L plates either. Never expect them to look for you or even to see you if they do look 😬
I,m about to start learning very grateful ive found this playlist. With it been 2 years old is there anything new that i need to know. Thanks for the content cant wait to watch the rest.
@@TheWanderer1111 hi, no, it's all still relevant and up to date. Look up the new highway code rules for pedestrians looking to cross around junctions. Thanks for the comment and enjoy your training 😊
@@motorcyclelessonsuk my question is. Is worth keeping hold of the coverage I got so when it comes to doing my CBT there a better understanding of my daily riding
I love the content and the way you explain everything is very clear and easy to understand. Also I think everyone will agree with you on this one regarding pedestrians 4:17 to coin a phrase it 'rips my knitting' too.😁
Hi Leanna, I really enjoy your vids. So I went for my cbt today. There were 2 of us, I had manual and the other on a scoot. You & your trainees made it look so easy! Long and short of it, we ended up not completing element C & therefore, couldn't do the road ride. Now, get this, we have to rebook to complete it and pay another £100 for the pleasure. Bearing in mind, we finished our day @ 13.35! Is this normal practice? Love to read yours & others opinions.
Hi, well that is unfortunate, but if you think of it from the business perspective: they set aside a whole day to train you, and unfortunately neither of you were safe enough to continue onto the road ride. Therefore the business was unable to book other training onto the day having expected you to complete the day. You will require an additional day of training which they could have sold to other trainees, thus it costs the business money to provide another day of training to you. So yes, it is standard practice to charge for additional training, otherwise the business loses out and would eventually cease to provide training at all if additional training was provided free of charge. This probably isn't what you want to hear, but at the end of the day, safety comes first, even if it is at a price. Thanks for the kind comments on my videos.
@motorcyclelessonsuk Thanks for replying. I understand the business side of the reasoning, I guess my main frustration was leaving early when there was able time for us to finish element C and just book for the road ride. Which my instructor said we wouldn't have had to pay for. Again, thank you for replying to my frustration 😆👍🏼
@@andystevens3865 you're welcome. Sometimes it isn't safe to keep trying to complete something when it's not sinking in, or, the instructor would prefer to revisit element C on the same day as the road ride to be sure when you get out on the road you haven't forgotten all the machine control and procedural elements. I understand your frustration, but sometimes you have to trust the instructor has your, and their, best interests at heart. Hope it goes well next time for you 😊
@@shershahnazari9529 no, primarily because you can look these up online and you can't fail your test for getting them wrong. You can answer them all incorrectly & you'll only get 1 fault. The main thing is for you to ride well. Best of luck 🤞
Myself Dr. Vijay, I failed 5 times in module 2. Today I passed my Mod- 2 exam at Lectchworth. I watched all your videos that has helped me a lot. You really have a big heart to share your knowledge and experience in a public forum like this. May God bless you and your family. Thank you again.
@@chakkravarthyv8333 congratulations 🎉. I am really pleased for you. You're most welcome, it makes it all worthwhile when I hear stories like yours. Stay safe and enjoy your bike 😊
Hi Kev, lovely to hear from you, albeit in a stalker-ish way 😉, I'm ok thank you, finally making some progress with feeling a little better so hopefully once things have settled fully I'll be back filming etc. How are you keeping and how is your lovely CB500? Thanks again for the message 🙂
@@motorcyclelessonsuk Good to hear from you to Leanna, 😃Nice to know your making progress, things take time a bit like learning to ride a bike, little by little you get better ☺ As to you getting back and filming, Its not a problem, reruns of your content is still very useful, 😏 As to my CB500 and me! Well we are doing ok thank you, practicing together is going ok, hence the excuse to rerun your videos 🤣nothing to do with being stalkerish 😂😂😂 just keep looking after yourself and write if you feel like it I won't think anything if I don't hear from you, the most important thing is you getting better😉 your personal stalker Kev
@@kgba17580 thanks Kev, glad to hear you're still enjoying your bike 😊 I still love the one we have and I'm glad they haven't changed it despite the styling and name being updated. Still rides beautifully 😊 Take care.
Just passed MOD2 and I wanted to thank you for you videos - they have helped me enormously over the last few months, not just in passing but in developing my riding skills - the examiner was pleased and asked where I had learnt my positioning skills - well I learn't them from these videos - brilliant channel !
Hi 👋 on 12.34 thats were yesterday i made really dangerous mistake first time i went wide wrong side of the road , i let clutch way to early revs went up ah all went soo wrong. 😢 managed to back ok on left side. So you always keep bite point on turns like that from moving away? I was thinking about it all day. Never ever had this before! I probably had my handle bars already pointed to the left?
@@r.r8314 I think I understand what you're saying: you ran wide on a left turn? Try to think of pulling away as using only just enough of the clutch as allows you to get your balance, and then if you need to, as you lean and turn, pull the clutch in momentarily, and then re-introduce it gently. Or you can hold it on the very beginning of the bite point as you turn. Up to you. Well done for saving it 😊
