Christiaan Kleynhans is a gutter videographer that worked himself into a video camera and now immerse himself into nature and elsewhere to find beauty to share with the world. My first success was also with my first video "The Re-floating of the MT Phoenix Tanker". Since then I have made an effort to improve the look and feel of my channel and my videos. I tell stories of the world around me. I run my Vlog under the name Chris On The Rocks. Watch me grow and grow with me. Please SUBSCRIBE to my channel, that is how you can help to see it develop so that you can see more and better material. ru-vid.com
I agree with you there. And the Smit Amandla has much more impressive engines than your typical harbour tugboat. Thanks for watching and making the effort to give a constructive comment. I remade the material available for this event into six episodes and in them I discuss the typical power of these tugs and their history and at some points I discuss capabilities specific to them. My apologies that I only answer you now.
Thank you for watching Marietjie and that you made the effort to comment. I was hoping that the feeling would be immersive of the environment and that is why I made these more extensive videos on this subject.
Great docementory series with the amazing photography and videos!!! Thank you very much for sharing that journey with us and looking forward to more from you!!!
Another good documentary very informative. Also love your beautiful photographics!!! Thank you for shating and keen to know the fate of her, await for your next one....
@@ChristiaanKleynhans @Christiaan Kleynhans Thank you all with camera's doing the job of filming these fascinating doc's. I am simply addicted. No need for cable tv anymore. I can watch these types of videos forever. Your channel has a great variety of things that I love.👍 Thank you. Hello from Atlanta Ga USA 👋
A good documentary, well made, the tone and the speed of the narrative are very calm, clear and comfortable to listen too so really looking forward to your next episode.
This first effort is visually powerful, truly original artistry. The bucolic Bach sound track reflects the light--hearted mood of the bystanders on holiday. This choice of music is a stroke of genius. The technical flaws in videography are normal for a first effort and easily ignored. If only there were a RU-vid audience for more examples of the author's huge talents..
Hehehehe Roger, I am not sure if you are serious or sarcastic. Hopefully you mean it. I agree, I would love to have an audience for my other videos. I have spent more time and effort on the later ones and it is sometimes a very ungrateful job. You need to have a kind of love for what you do. I hope to release a rework of the material of this video as it is almost 10 years since this happened.
@@mashaalekperova5627 Hi Masha, this was in 2012 and I found the guard at the parking spot where I stopped. There were even lady guards. I have no idea what the current situation is but I think there is an info-buro in town which should be able to tell you and maybe they may even organize one for you. I think they all wear special T-Shirts so that you don't get conned by rip-off artists.
Interesting story, but unfortunately I had to interrupt my viewing due to impossible music, which doesn't fit the subject at all and it's way overbalanced to narrative
@andreproject4285 You could have watched the remakes. This was my first video on RU-vid and I had to use music that was legal. 13 million views. And I had an 8 minute limit. Now I have 5 episodes and the music is gone. Good luck.
I know hey! But long term it would definitely have caused problems. This is a beach in a residential area and the community would not have allowed that on the doorstep.
Such a waste of materials! I tought, if they fight so hard for it, they want to repair the ship and make it operational again. If the plan was to waste it. Wasn't it better to cut it into pieces and recycle? Or if not - leave it for local junkyard heros... But no! Ownership is sanctity. If one with a torch shows up, 10 min. later would be yet another one claiming rights to the ship and issueing a law suit... So sad...
The ship was going to be scrapped in anycase before it even stranded. People did not want it to remain in their suburb and where do you suggest it should be parked for the local junkyard heroes?
The music is way to loud. It is really difficult to hear the commenter. The titles are shown for a way to short period of time so there is not time enough to read them. Really poor editing!
Baie dankie vir jou positiewe kommentaar Theo en dankie dat jy kyk. DIt inspireer my om aan nog te werk. Ek gaan harder moet probeer, daar is baie materiaal op my hardeskywe.
You are just having a bad day Benjamin. I understend! We are living in difficult times. It is not easy to see the beauty in anything anymore. I suggest you switch on the mute and read. If you cant keep up, use the pause. That is what is nice about RU-vid. Seeing that you and me are just ordinary people and that this was my first attempt at a RU-vid video in 2011, we have to accept that there may be errors. Especially as this video was produced under pressure with primitive equipment. The fact that I am almost at 13 million views and over 75% likes to dislikes, shows that there are people out there that can actually seethe beauty and found it informative. Better luck next time.
@@ChristiaanKleynhans its not critisism actually, its just directing your attention to it as i was also interested in it but was not willing to listen to a barely hearable soundtrack and music that fades your voice out.
@@benjamincoetzer7611 Thanks Benjamin. In ten years my attention has been drawn a lot to it and I have answered this many, many times. I just wonder why that is the only thing that people see.
Wonderful video. I have studied this then crucial enterprise for both for the Portuguese and the SAR (it was a fixation for President Kruger, really). I travelled many times between Mozambique and Johannesburg and passed near this site on the...N4?. There is a book in Portuguese, written many years ago by LM-based historian Alfredo Pereira de Lima, called "Kruger's Millions", about the alleged gold treasure of the SAR. He also wrote "The History of the Mozambique Railroad", a masterpiece (in Portuguese) of which I have a copy here in Portugal, with every little detail of the Lourenço Marques-Pretoria endeavour. This tunnel is a historical monument and I am glad it is still in place.
Thank you for your information. I think I have answered you on Facebook but not here yet. That is also what is nice about RU-vid, all the extra information comes to the fore. What is amazing also is that this was a very new country, about 40 years in the making and that this could take place already. But new countries are also vulnerable and this railway was essential for its survival. Didn't work out exactly but the history was interesting and wave on wave of change took place.
Wow, been there on "Veldskool" in gr 7, this took me way back with fond memories. Thx for taking ud to the other side and the beautiful waterfall and scenery! You had guts walking through. Thx also for the lesson in our history. This was great, loved the music!
Glad you enjoyed it! Thank you Marietjie. I have also be there on a Leadership Veldskool. I think it was in grade 11. And we walked all the way to the bottom and went to the Five Arches bridge and I think we went to the Waterfall at the bottom. Thanks for watching.
Thanks for this interesting piece of extra information Barbara. It is very interesting. I can just imagine what it was like in those times and they did a good job that is still standing very well.
