Buy once, cry once. From bush hogging to blowing snow. Buy as much power you need and cab it. Maintaining a half mile gravel drive with the dust choking me doesn't sound like fun either.
From what I see, thats a good design and a bad design for fuel filters, good that limbs cant hit them, bad is they look hard to get at for replacing, and bad that is has two where one should be enough, which sounds pricy $$..... My L3400 fuel filter is small, cheap, easy to change and easy to get at, problem is a limb can hit it very easy so I had to make a guard to protect it. My CK3510 fuel filter is easy to get at, easy to change but very pricy at $100.00..........
I ended up using a 3500 lb winch and 2 yards was about the limit. Especially if the material was wet. It was consistently good for 1 yard no matter what
Supposedly the fuel auto shut off is on the 1626's and not the 1635's. I use the clamps like you as well for the fuel line. For the re-priming, there's a 10mm bolt next to the button you push to prime the filter. If you remove it, gets the air out A LOT faster. Mechanic at my dealer told me that trick and it worked great.
Thanks for the tip about priming the system. I will happily take any advice on those filters. I hate doing them. And thanks for taking time to watch it
@@Carollascompactconstruction you're welcome. Also, just a heads up. Tried to search for your channel in RU-vid but would not come up even when typing in the full name of your channel. Had to get to it thru the link you provided.
Johne Deere guys all tell me that us non Deere queeres wouldn't have any issues like this if we bought greene tractors... but from the two deeres I've owned, that's not true. Also be careful with your dealer, they take the list of filters you give them, then 10 days later, call you in to pick up a box of filters that don't fit anything you own. Ask me how I know.. 8ft tall, cant read a list.
Oh I've seen plenty of bad engineering from the grean folks. Nothing is perfect. But these suck to replace. It's like they were trying to be difficult.
I just replied to your other comment. It's that bolt on the side to check the fill is in the center top by the shifter. I can't share a pic in the comments section. But they also have the service manuals for free on Google. They helped me quite a bit
Crack that window in the back i got one 1635 i live it pared with pronovost snowblower winter nice summer if not working for you open window in the back 👍
@@Carollascompactconstruction true if your getting a F-450 dually they start at high 70 but you can get a solid super duty or dirty max for high 50s or go a couple years old on a lease back or trade in for closer to 20-30K just picked up a 2022 ram 2500 for work was just over 35K almost fully loaded
That was insane to me. Dealers were really getting out of hand. Not to mention the people who bought them. How do you even get a loan for more than the value of the truck or car?
The only thing that I liked about the cab in my 1635 is when I’m plow snow in -25 C, other than that I hated from towing to parking to ditching to brush hogging, I loved my open cab but I froze to death multiple times in our extreme winter weather And you are right about loosing some Horse Power because of the cab
I agree, people who need a truck should also stop buying flipping optioned out crew cabs. Regular or extended cab long or short bed, all you need. If your wife's family hauler isn't enough, get an old Camry, or any cheap to work on and repair van or wagon.
Because they went from being a work vehicle to a fad. The vast majority are pavement princesses that will never haul anything, never tow anything, or even need 4WD. Good luck even finding an 8' bed because they won't fit in a mall parking spot.
@@Drewdayz2419 don't think you know what a base model is bud. A lariat with decent options goes for $73k CAD. USD you're looking at 60-65k. A work truck (which is more than most people need) falls in right around the mid to high 50k mark.
@@mancer1873 tell me you don't have a clue what you're talking about without telling me dud. The trucks are massive. So the cost of just the frame and body alone have skyrocketed since the 2000's simply because they require more to make them. Then add in that people want them lighter so now you gotta throw in some expensive aluminum. And screens, people throw a hissy fit when they don't throw a big screen in. And don't say they don't, gm decided to not go with the massive screens and unnescicary stuff from 2019-2023 and people hated those trucks simply because of that. So you're also paying for all that now. And safety features. People want those now too, more cost. And that list goes on and on until you have an 80k truck. We'll now people want extras. They want real wood, massaging seats, genuine leather, big cnc aluminum wheels, magnaride suspensions and a bunch of other stuff. It takes very little in this day to jack a price on that big of a vehicle to over 100k.
Thats why i learned cars from a young age and went to school for auto repair, everyone will say thats dumb, trade school waste of money blah, blah, well i only paid for school once and it cost half of what most new pickups would. Now i got a 26 year old truck same age as me that ive done over. I paid 1k for the truck off offerup, 500 to title, 5k in parts and zero debt. My labor is free and i enjoy doing it. If that makes me an idiot, i dont wanna be smart.
@jordansexoticsfloridaman4999 you're not wrong, but again I enjoy it, hangout with fam and friends have some beers, cookout and wrench away a saturday, I say time we'll spent, and more money in my pocket.
@@RadKapp98Hell yeah man that’s wassup. Doing it the way the founding fathers intended! That old truck will outlast anything you can get from the lot nowadays! Much luck to you in life and cheers!🍻
I agree with you about this, but it’s the nature of the market we’ve allowed to be created through deregulation. If they get away pounding you, why stop? They’re making more money. And it’ll only get worse until it stops working for them.
My dad in the height of cov8d inflation laid 65k lease a semi from this company he works for . Last week across the yard a semi thats 2019 is selling SELLING for 22k. He was livid. .he got a 2017 international prostarr. So ive always said i cant believe people are financing pick up trucks for almost 100k thats wild. A pick up truck should have been the alternative for a car and a work vehicle. 24k new max its insane they turned pick up truck market into pavement big oversized princess luxury bs.
It's funny you mentioned getting a full size truck. I was starting to look into single axle dump trucks because I have my class a. Money goes farther with those trucks and they are built to work. Only problem is the registration and insurance on them.
Spoken like a poor... lol Some people are just too good to be seen in, well, something like I drive! They'd rather be on that rat wheel of debt. I've never paid over $9k for a vehicle ever. Tractors are another story.
Yep, but I'm old poor so I'm allowed to complain. I know my rights! It's funny, my whole life It's usually just out of reach. I know I sound old but it shouldn't cost that much and they don't last as long either.
So that was one of the most difficult parts. I made them as long as I could so they would still fit inside the frame. My thought process was the longer it was the more leverage it would have. The initial lift was the hardest. I had to open up the sissor part alittle to get it to lift actual weight
Valid points for sure. Nothing controversial about it. It's a personal preference. I live in Ontario Canada and my tractor's primary use is going to be snow removal so I wouldn't be without the cab.
Yeah it's funny how upset some folks can get over opinions these days. I just wanted to share my experience with them. Hopefully it helps someone out there save a few bucks
I agree with you on the cab they're nice if you need one for like plowing snow in the winter are doing chores like that but if you want to move dirt or other loader work no cab is the way to go better visibility easier on off the tractor again I will agree with you on the cab
I'm happy the cab is a good fit for you. Don't get me wrong I love my 1635, but I would be just as happy with a open station. I also don't plow with mine. That probably makes a big difference
@Carollascompactconstruction Wasn't making fun of what you are doing with the name, makes perfect sense to me. Just heard "transitioning" and my mind went to the current fashionable cry for attention. All this helps the algorithm anyhow, I'm told, so one day, one of us may be a youtube millionaire.
No worries, I didn't take it as an insult. I just wanted to see if the gold trees and platinum bushes are going to take off. That would be a lot less headache to become a millionaire
I agree with you, I have a 2016 2538 and the only reason I have the cab, not to mention the true value of actually requiring one In my opinion is my snow removal services. Being out of the cold weather and being able to properly operate during the brutal winter conditions is worth having. Other than that, I would have opted for a no cab tractor for the spring, summer and fall weather.
It worked really well, the biggest benefit is that it dosen't really dig. I was able to clean out the ditch and muck out the bottom. I went over a shallow cable line and it didn't cut it. That alone was a huge win
We have an F250 with a dump bed insert that will lift about 3,000 pounds. It was occasionally too small for some jobs so we purchased a 4 ton dump trailer for the bigger jobs. After 1 year we only used it perhaps 3 times. That did not seem to be the best use of that investment capital so we sold it. We might have to make a few more trips with our dump bed but it covers our needs fairly well most of the time. We just didn't use it enough to justify keeping it.
That's a good idea, and it definitely needs to happen to fix the problem, but the customer doesn't want to invest that much into the drive unfortunately
I have 17 tractors, only two of which have cabs, and you are absolutely right, cabs are only awesome in very select jobs and weather conditions. On a beautiful sunny day, I'd rather be out in the sunshine and fresh air. I'm too tall to stretch out in a cab so my legs cramp up, and I can't reach out and grab an apple to eat without stopping, can't toss the core without opening a door, can't shoot at rodents.... etc. One thing on the greenhouse effect, (I called it the "death terrarium" when working for my dad) if the A/C goes out, you can't survive in it on a sunny 65+degree day!! Can't open enough windows, dad said I was just being a sissy, it's not that bad... wanted to be cheap and wouldn't fix A/C, I made a non opening window permanently open. Haha
Not alot of people ever talk about the downfalls. You hit the nail on the head about the ac. If that ever goes out your almost completely out of luck on a hot day. As always I appreciate you watching the video man.
Running a small business changes your thinking very strategically, especially about money. It's a limited asset and to be used wisely. I may think about 100 different ideas that I'd like to try, and I have to whittle it down to 1 or 2... or 3.
Thanks, it was one of my favorites. I actually sold it to buy the mini but I do miss the machine and the company support. The downside for me was the metal tracks and the speed. It was difficult to be effective at a customer's house. Plus some places I couldn't bring it because the tracks would scar up asphalt
They are very cool machines. I can't say enough about the customer service either. Very knowledgeable and helpful. I unfortunately sold mine to get a mini excavator but I still miss it.
Thank you for the kind comment. I didn't know "real dozers" can fit down a 5ft vineyard row. I will have to save up so I can cut down others on the internet one day. As always like and subscribe!
