This was from the movie, Jailhouse Rock. After his moves in this movie and some of his live shows, when he was on television they only filmed him from the waist up. They called him Elvis the pelvis.

Would be good to do a comparison of this rehearsed, choreographed version to his live version on the '68 Comeback Special at ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-87N6Qa0D7KY.html -- this was Elvis unleashed, doing what he did best.

Hi, just thought I would drop you a line quickly to say thanks for your reaction to this performance, which if you are not already aware, is from one of his early movies - 'Jailhouse Rock" wouldn't you know ! Ha ha. No music videos back then, no MTV, so if it weren't for the films, we would not have this. Eventually he grew very tired of the films that he was contracted to fulfill by his manager, the infamous Col Tom Parker, a Dutchman, and not actually a Colonel! Thanks again, keep 'em coming!

And an illegal alien till the day he died. Glad you mentioned no music videos back then, etc. I've been saying this forever & people just don't get it. Seems like you can't get people to understand & get darn stubborn about it -- that this was a clip from the film that we now can see without watching the entire film. Thx.

You should see if I can dream from the 68 come back special. Did the song to honor MLK jr

Just a quick note to say that If I Can Dream encompassed the assassination of Robert Kennedy, the turmoil of the world which included the Vietnam war, & was not to honor any one person or incident but was a wish for a world of peace & harmony.

"If you can't find a partner use a wooden chair" is exactly how my older siblings learned how to dance, LOL. Great song, great reaction. Elvis would be thrilled that young people still enjoy his music & entertaining all of these decades later. Will have to check your videos and see what other Elvis music you've reacted to & make a few suggestions. Thanks for keeping Elvis music alive.

When Peter was on MTV being interviewed by Martha Quinn, she came back from the following commercial break blushing - Peter told her what "sledgehammer" was a reference to.

Great video. Great song. Peter Gabriel is a creative force. Something tells me that there may be several intended meanings for 'Sledgehammer'. The opening sequence gives us a hint. Sexual Innuendo? Oh, Yeah.

You already earned MY SUB... pure FIRE girl!!!! Elvis Presley would have LOVED to see you react to his music. He would have embraced social media. His #1 demographic was YOUNG PEOPLE. He LOVED American youth and was their icon versus the SOCIAL ELITES, the older generation. I think young people today appreciate Elvis for his rebellious actions. He was HUGE proponent of the YOUTH revolution and the CIVIL RIGHTS MOVEMENT of the 1950s and 60s. And he paid black talent HUGE sums of money and even hired them during an era where black talent WAS NOT GETTING PAID for their work.

Many are not aware of the very last recording released after Minnie’s passing called, Love Lives Forever. It was a project with vocal duets & collaborations with great instrumentalists including Stevie Wonder on harmonica. It was produced by her husband, Rudolph. Most of the guest vocals were recorded after she died as well. Her husband produced it. Michael Jackson, George Benson, Patrice Rushen, Peabo Bryson, Roberta Flack. I recall my fav being The Song of Life (La-La-La) with Patrice Rushen.

Hello A Dose of Joy: You just witnessed perfection. When he began his concerts in Las Vegas in 1989, he would do two shows a night, which was unheard of at the time, however over time, he reduced his performances to one show per night. He performed at the Las Vegas Hilton from inception to 1977 at the age of 42, his age of death. He was a magnificent performer and has a wonderful assortment of music choices, one of his favorites is gospel, spiritual, but the variety is vast, he could capture any genre of music of choice. Keep listening for the thrill of a lifetime. Of course, there are a plethora of great musicians also, but I am always amazed by him……..🎶🙏✝❤🇺🇸 BTW-he served two years in the military, Germany for one of those years. ENJOY!!!!!

It’s all about LSD. Grateful Dead, Doors at the time everything was about LSD. I saw the band in 1968. Electric Ladyland for myself his best album. I play guitar and am left handed. I buy left handed guitars and I have a left handed Hindix model. Thanks ⚡️🎸⚡️

Try a different “Jolene.” Ray LaMontagne sings his own “Jolene” and it’s beautiful. And since you like different sounds, try My Morning Jacket. Pick any live show-scores of songs on RU-vid-and fall in love.
