This is one of my favorite videos of all time. It's also one of the most nostalgic videos for me. I've watched this video countless times. These are my favorite trucks that Gilbert ever got. I also really like the Scorpions. I wonder if these trucks ever ended up being bought by any companies.
THANK YOU CITY OF MESA EMPLOYEES FOR ALL THAT YOU DO TO KEEP THIS GREAT COUNTRY & NATION CLEANED UP. BE SURE TO TRY CELSIUS ENERGY DRINKS TO KEEP COOL THIS SUMMER.
Any idea what unit this was in Phoenix? It sounds like it could've been MC7139 back in its prime, or maybe MC7291 going off the "23" on the front of the cab Also, what happened at the end with that other driver?
Nice job man! Btw WM of chandler has been getting rid of a lot of these older ZRs so as far as i know we got like 7 of these i think and goodyear got 1 of them. And i have filmed 81,82, and 84 but this truck 83 you filmed just did my neighborhood today and it has a new arm
I can remember this in the early 70s waste management ran Maxon Shu Paks but the body was longer and so what higher but low enough to pass under the over passes on the freeway and streets they would pack 14-15 tons put the whole route in a load and a half second load was 9-11 tons but when they got new trucks they had to add more trucks due to the fact highway patrol started cracking down on over weight loads so no need to get the larger body’s. Just sharing some history I had always thought trash trucks were Amazing.
That’s a Big rear door since recycling doesn’t pack well they give it some extra space with the rear door being so big . Do you know or find out how many tons can it actually pack on a dry load .
That’s so funny after all these years I can confirm it’s not the trucks that’s malfunctioning it’s the driver error; when the joystick Is in Manual mode you have to pull back towards the left to dump, the joystick can twist for the secondary/optional grip or ungrip controls so if you pull to the left and twist any bit to the left accideny that will cause grippers to open up.
