i actually love this season way more than season 2 and i know it may be different for others but personally i enjoyed how more realistic Polin felt. maybe i just love friends to lovers more and enemies lol season 2 it took until the last ep for them to be together. love kate though 😭where as with colin and pen i feel like we see more of them navigating through the difficulties. i actually liked the argument in the alley and the nod during the aisle walk, i feel like it shows how even though he is still upset he still loves her and wants to marry her. this season just touched me more also because it touches on other subjects like the friendship, siblings, mother to daughter. i just love colin and pen 💛

Not to make you more emotional (though i do love how open you are, it's so wonderful and touching to see!) but Colin's reaction to seeing Penelope first walk down the aisle was Luke, the actor, genuine reaction as the director made sure he didn't see Nicola in her brides outfit before the take!
After rewatching this season (this season is my fave! so take this as it is), I understand the modiste street scene but I can also see where you're coming from. I think the whole scene was a slap to his face. This is the first time someone truly said how they love him for JUST being him. He has been pretending, he had been insecure (his family thinks he's a chore when he's talking about his travels, everyone thinks he's immature for not sowing his wild oughts and for not being a rake "man") and now he's questioning himself as a writer because he can brag and proud about it to Pen but then Pen is THE lady whistledown. Everything is collapsing until he heard how Pen loved him for being him and to declare that she truly loves him. He will always be enough. I might be stretching but i just wanna say my take hehe :)) hope you guys feel the same and I hope you enjoy this season like I did! 💛
i had the same thought with the street kiss, i feel like it needed even just a couple more lines of dialogue before the kiss. I think Colin, before she said i love you, truly thought she didn''t actually love him - he's very insecure and feels unworthy of her (as he said in ep 6) but to hear her finally actually say the words i think took him off guard. He gives me demisexual vibes too and i think with how emotional and stressed they both are, it just temporarily overcame both of them hence the kiss. But still... a few more lines of dialogue, like maybe him not believing her or something about her feelings would make it feel less jarring and forced
I definitely enjoyed this season myself far more than the other one lol but I think ALOT of concerns comes from some scenes feeling forced like the one I pointed out. I still think it was a solid and cute season 🥹 and awww thank you so much 🫶🏾

Tbh so many scenes this season felt forced and the actors have so much chemistry in real life so I don’t get it 😭 I enjoyed this season but it will never beat season 2 for me lmao. Can’t wait for episode 8 reaction!
listennnn I definitely can see the “forced” part because that night alley scene….wasn’t it. I feel like it was trying to give Charlotte and George moment but it fell flat HARD!

I loved parts of it a lot but sometimes I thought 'What is going on' lol I hope Netflix won't do us wrong as always (they cut the budget on most shows after the 2nd season) I'm waiting the next season!!!! Your emotion to the twin fight scene was so pure and authentic 🥺😭 we don’t have to know that much about them as characters cause knowing that they’re twins who only parted ways because of this civil war makes the whole situation heartbreaking to think of.

I really feel the twins' pain, both of them. I lost my twin over a year ago right before my birthday and I am still trying to force myself to get used to being the lone half of a matching set. tbh, this episode really showed how the greens are broken individuals (aegon, aemond, helaena and alicent). plus, you really see the differences of motherhood between alicent and rhaenyra. the only child i've seen alicent try to comfort was helaena, and i remember her doing that in s1, but helaena brushed her away and quoted another one of her prophecies. in this episode, alicent couldn't even attempt to comfort aegon when she saw him crying alone. compared to last episode, w/rhaenyra and jacerys after he returned, w/him trying to be strong but he broke down crying and she just embraced him. that was a son who needed his mother at that moment, not the queen.
I agree with every last word! Rhaenyra is a better mother than Alicent could ever be but I also think about her not maybe having anyone to teach her how to be one. This episode did an amazing job giving us alittle of the greens perspectives and like you said they’re broken and it’s so sad to watch. Otto is the blame for it all and he shall reep what he sowed.

This episode made me go reread Fire and Blood and make an entire video about why unreliable narration helps House of the Dragon tell a much better story than Game of Thrones ever could! Otto's performance on this here day was everything! That man is trying to hold the Greens together by a thread while Aegon the Elder is acting a wild fool! Side Note: If you want to read the Dance without being spoiled, Season 1 is Chapter 12-13 and S2E1 was Chapter 14 - The Dying of the Dragons: A son for a son.
