Greetings, Ben, I have had a lot of problems for a long time calibrating the scope and I hope you can help me. Sometimes it shoots well and sometimes it shoots lower or higher. Do you have any idea why this could happen? And another question, is it necessary to calibrate the 2 lenses at the same distance if you are only going to use 1? Right now I have the 20 lens calibrated at 80 meters and the 60 to 100 lens in profile A and 170 meters in profile B (I only use B) for shooting. Thank you so much
TX60C model was announced in the US market by IRAY (infiray distributor for USA) which has a 3X base mag, do you know if this model is coming to european market as well? I think 3x base mag has an edge over to 2x mag for long range while foxing/zooming. thanks!
@@HuntTheNight oh my bad, haven't noticed it was a different sensor. I do not know the calculations, but the bigger sensor on the TS60 should compensate the lower base mag at same zoom level? i.e. 8x for picture quality?
Well if you watch my talion review you’d know the answer :) the Ares is a FAR superior unit to the Talion, but you also cannot compare the two given the Ares has a 60mm focal length which creates a much more detailed picture
Hi Ben, just trying to set up a new ballistic calculation on the smart thermal app but when trying to set up new presets NOT from the directory there is no way of saving them. On your video you have a done button to top right hand side which I do not, just next which doesn't safe inputs? Model is a Vidal 360L version V2.1.10 and smart thermal app is 3.1.2 Just wondered if you've come across this issue? Thanks in advance John
Hi Ben, I've a question off topic you might be able to help me with. I have a ares 660 and I'm trying to find the RAV threshold setting for a 22.250 I've tried several avenues without success. Many thanks Nick.
Gday Nick, Thermtec suggest for the Ares for it to be 220. I haven’t done a lot of testing with the RAV as yet, but I’ll try do some over the next week or so.
Nice looking piece of kit!! I have the TH50 V2 and it is an awesome scope!! Will there be a firmware update for the TH50 V2 for the ballistic calculator? Be nice if this feature was available seen as the V2 hasn't been out that long! Hopefully Infiray don't just forget about there previous products and offer this ballistic calculator function for the V2.
Hi Ben, hope you are well. Would you happen to know the RAV threshold setting for a 22.250. Cal? Just an appropriate number will help, many thanks Nick.
Thanks for the video. One thing with the phone calculator - it doesn't appear to let me add a 17hmr calculation - when entering the bullet weight, entering 17 gr displays a notice on the screen stating a value of between 20-600 is required? I'm guessing I can edit this in the bc settings on the scope itself after importing?
Yep, not only is the image quality better, but the ergonomics of the Wild really make it awesome. The Telos is horrible to use being a two handed unit, and it’s big and bulky.
Hi Ben that looks a cracking bit of kit mate. I know you said you hard wired it to keep the image clear but how good is the image without hard wiring it? Be nice to see some footage 👍
@HuntTheNight my apologies I thought you said it was hard wired. But yeah I agree the footage is insane. I have the 640x habroks which are brilliant but I must admit the image quality of these looks just as good if not better.
Great video what’s your thoughts on the talon xq35 pro I dont see any videos of it here in aus and all the reviews aren’t very helpful I’ve put a deposit for one to throw on a tikka in 300wsm
what is the minimum distance that the lrf still functions on this model? i do loads of ratting with airguns and it seems hard to find thermals that range under the 10m
i have both the Zoom 38 and a FL35. Interesting how the ZH has a larger field of view when they both have a very close base mag of around 3.2 ( when the ZH is on 38 mm)
Great video!!!!! I’ve been considering getting into thermal scopes, but I just avoided it due to their cost and not knowing what I really needed to do the job I wanted it for. This really was a very informative video!!!!!!!!
Hi Ben, just another quick question regarding the 660, do you know how to turn on the RAV system? Ive only discovered the unit has this feature after downloading and printing off the user manual. I cant remember seeing this in any of the menu settings, many thanks Nick.
I have just fitted on to my meopta 4.5-27 and even at base zoom i cant see any menu or option buttons if i attempt to zoom in all i see is pixels i love the optic but dont want to use as not a clip on any suggestions?
Awesome picture Ben. That 18mk senor would be good for me up here in the humidity. I want one but i might wait to see if they integrate the LRF. All the best mate Cheers Mal
Not sure what you mean by "get with the program", but the only way to increase base mag is to increase lens size. The issue with 1280 sensors is they are so big they have a very wide field of view so need bigger lenses. But if you want a 640 scope at 4x base mag then this is the one as at 2x digital zoom it'll be 4x and running as a 640. You see this in the Pulsar XL50 which is 1.75 mag as they stuck to a 50mm lens.
Hi Ben, im zeroing at 100 yrds so looking at the target is rather small at base mag like shownon your video. You say in the video that zooming in should be done before you freeze so does this mean i have to zoom before i bring up the main menu? Cheers Nick.
Gday Nick, I would zoom in and shoot at the target, then when I go into zeroing you can also zoom in there. Make sure you zoom in before you do freeze, then adjust the x/y. Hope that makes sense.
No it doesn’t. The new MAH50R has a range finder which will provide you a ballistic solution, it cannot give you a precise aim point as they do not have a reticle
Dont wanna tell you how to suck eggs but if the rf marks is accurate to where the range splash is working. Doesnt that mean your ranging 54 yards at the tree behind the box? And not the box itself?
This is what I thought, the ranging is off in the video, he's actually ranging behind the box which is likely adding another couple yards. This will explain the difference. So actually the standard ballistic calculator seems to be spot on without the need to adjust the BC
