Saltwater fishing all over Eastern North Carolina and the Southern Outer Banks. Currently located in Swansboro, NC. I currently fish out of a CS JVX18. I mainly target all inshore species: Blues, Spanish, Bonito, False Ablies, Drum and especially Speckled Trout. So if like that type of fishing, please subscribe for FREE! Tight lines 🤙🏼
I’m planning on heading out there with my boat in the coming weeks, gonna be a expensive trip but watching your videos makine me go nuts not being able to make my maiden saltwater baptism. Hopefully I don’t get shunk! Wanna tag along?
Typically it holds fish. Intel from other captains always helps too. But all of my other normal spots have been dry. Surprisingly, my marsh spots have been loaded with big blues and Spanish.
Hey Henry. Just following typical patterns from the winter and spring. But when they’re feeding I will look for the slick that appears in the water or I can literally smell the pogies they’re chewing on.
Nice work, so that is close to the same color I used to catch my 13#27-inch fish. When I saw the lure I was like "Wow!!!" That color must be hot, I just used a red jighead. Nice fish !!!!
Funny story, my buddy took it off of his jig head bc he wasn’t catching anything. I picked it up just to play around bc I hadn’t had much luck on the slick. And that was literally the 2nd cast. Crazy how it came together.
Awesome job Rich looks like an absolute blast!!!! looking forward to getting out there with you again, and making another video this summer. Maybe Reds next time
Some chunks, definitely one of those quality over quantity days. I have a problem with my big trout choking mirrodine's and XR-8's. It's like those fish over 24" mouths are big enough to actually inhale a hardbait. I actually did really good with a buddy up the canal along the road one day in January three winters ago.
Why not just use a high low rig if you are using squid and albacore chunks. Jigging is supposed to entice a bite through the action of the jig not relying on bait.
@@SlackTidesFishing Crap! Just looked up Topsail Beach and saw there are 3 piers, Jolly, Surf City and Seaview. In mid May, are they all the way up to Seaview yet or more bites down at Jolly? Wife and I would like to stay near Seaview but would hate to fish and no bites.. 🤷♂️
Man it’s that time of the year, these Spanish are gonna be from Charleston SC all the way up towards Virginia. Water was 71. It should be prime. Follow Johnny Mercers Pier on FB. That’s what I use as a guide as to what fish is close by. They’re 2 hours South.
Congrats my man, keep growing the channel and the brand!!! That catamaran looks like it makes for some stable fishing. Plan on getting me one when I hit the lotto🤣
@@SlackTidesFishing man there's big schools of choppers way up the neuse, and the big ones are a whole different ballgame, straighten o-rings break one knockers, its wild.
When the live bait shows up the artificial literally is non existent. It maybe a bad comparison but if you’re eating “beyond meat burgers” and then angus shows up, which are you gonna want? Real meat or fake meat? That’s how I interpret it. But I’ve not caught one Bonito on artificial and neither have my buddies.
That's some supreme topwater action right there!!! I've been whacking some big blues with one knockers at first light before going after the specs. Nothing like that topwater frenzy.
@@SlackTidesFishing I'm about 15mi east, trout bite isn't as good but I've had my toes stepped on hard last couple trips I went to ubc, new bern crowd is there rn.
