Really not a fan of how plunge was removed for a really lame looking skill. So Drk loses its double plunge for a single gap closer with the same range. If the ranged was buffed or it added what you mentioned that would be nice.
I'm interested to see if they will EVER change how Dissipation works. Its my biggest gripe about SCH and Ive been playing it since HW. The issues with Dissipation only get compounded when they add more and more skilles based around the fairy. Not to mention, there are STILL issues with fairy responsiveness and dropped abilities between Serpah>Eos and vice versa. With DT, we are now at... what... 6? Abilities that we lose every time we hit Dissipation? Not to mention the lack of fairy gauge earned and no Embraces for the whole 30 seconds of Dissipation buff. I might enjoy the 20% healing buff, but when like half of my kit is locked, it feels more like a gamble in prog than an asset. It feels worse to use in places like Ultimates because instead, I have to painfully work around it rather than feeling it's another tool in my arsenal. Sorry for the rant, but you're the only video I've seen that addressed any of these issues. 😢
These changes don’t seem bad to me, and level syncing under 70 isn’t bad either. I’ve never had many issues playing BLM at any level, and these changes sound fine to me.
I really do not care about Pictomancer. I would have preferred new SMN egi glamours from the Eden primals, or entirely new summons like Ramuh and Shiva. As for RDM it would have been cool to include a longer melee rotation, y’know, what with the rapier and all. How fcking badass would those changes have been? Instead we got anorexic Bahamut, and virtually no other changes for RDM. Shit, even BLM got a rework! I gotta admit DT has already disappointed me in terms of magic dps jobs, and it’s not even released yet. 🫤
The song changes is nice, but I’m disappointed sidewinder is still the same. was hoping for an upgrade to make 1 minute timings more enjoyable, as the 2 minute was already fine
this all feels like some nice QoL improvements for Sch, without losing the strategist vibe that the class seems to be focused on. I still wish I could have a dummy "oh shit" heal or shield right up front the way the other classes feel like they have, but seraphism does a lot for us and our shields already do so much. I like seeing slightly more variety in our DPS, too. I don't think this would have been my choice of design direction, but I feel less forgotten than I did as a sch main in EW.
Quality of Life is something that has no effect on balance. Trick attack going AoE is not QoL, it's a buff lol. NIN and BLM seem to be the biggest winners so far on my rampage through these videos.
Non-standard gameplay was extremely rigid for a theoretical 0.7%-2% DPS increase if you were making perfect use of all the nonstandard lines. For people to loose their shit over the changes call it non-standard flexible is just pure irony
Bard is dead until they bring back rep procing off of dots. They've completly gutted the identity of this class. Theyre too afraif of job identity and would rather listen to feedback from people who dont play bard and never intend to regardless of how much they change it.
I also dont understand why they would add the coda system. Its esentiall how old divination worked. They removed that feature from astro but then decided it should be added to bard? radiant finale needs to be a set 6% damage buff and not relient on using all of your songs. I wish they would actually give a fuck about this class.
Why are they making this game so simplified? Where is the challenge and joy of mastering your job? It’s that was MMO’s are about? Might as well play a single player RPG if I want my role simplified that anyone can use and play out the get go.
Im pretty sure the optimal 2 min (considering you openner is double solar) would be opo > Coeurl > coeurl. It is going to be more potency to do 1 opo + 2 coeurl in the PB window than the regular 3 opos we do in current mnk since we can get 3 buffed coeurl stacks dragon kick will not be the best filler anymore.

I love the new Executioner variants of gibbet and gallows. Very satisfying visceral animations and very nice potency. Should spice up the downtime between burst phases nicely.
to all the people mad and crying about this. keep in mind that this is what square has been doing to ALL THE JOBS since Shadowbringers. now it just was the turn to make BLM more "entry level friendly" since that seems to be the idea square wants to force on every job we like it or no. so AT LEAST it wasnt as bad as the rework SMN had lol welcome to the club. MCH, SMN, SAM, NIN, DRG, MNK, AST, SCH have already been through this. you will get used to it. 😭😭😭😭
I don't even think this is lowering the skill floor at all, BLM returns to its original ARR like rigid game play, that mean any and all error was punished heavily and it is harder to recover, this....actually kind of increased the skill floor, and reduced the skill ceiling. Honestly is confused, not sure how is this design decision benefiting anyone.
@@Verpal how does removing the RNG of thunder and firestarter procs, the relation of server ticks and your sps and having an INSTANT fire paradox and Instant Fire 3 procs, and the option to save 3 xenoglossy are now are related to how rigid the job was on ARR and how this increases the skill floor? dude literally blm has so many options to keep uptime now compared to before. to all i mentioned before add the already existing 2 charges of triple cast + the now 40 sec Swift cast and every thunder spell will always be INSTANT CAST, atherial manipulation and now you can even MOVE your lay lines how does that increases the skill floor??? these new changes even straight out force you to do the fire phase on the same way all the time without any space to get creative that alone already lowers the skill floor. BLM will still be challenging to new players but it wont be as hard as before for them to learn it.
@@Rataldo20 I am talking about how original ARR BLM plays, this new DT BLM is basically returning to that original form of rigid rotational design. Every BLM after ARR have some form of flexibility in terms of rotation built in, DT will change that. Current standard BLM rotation isn't any harder than DT BLM, skill floor didn't really change there, what change is it become more annoying to recover from failure condition, there where the skill floor increased. Edit: If it is still not clear what skill floor actually means, tips, moving leyline isn't related to skill floor at all, that is called optimization, skill floor is about newbies learning how to press their 1-2-3 and always be casting, in terms of EW, that mean try to do standard rotation and nothing more.
@Verpal the actual "1-2-3" of blm has always been extremely easy (compared to other jobs rotations) The hard part comes to optimize your uptime while doing mechanics and movement. And then again, this iteration of BLM has so many options to keep your uptime so i ask again how this "is not lowering the skill floor" And also now they don't even have yo keep track of the randomness of thundercloud of Firestarter procs. The job will be easier than ever before

I was dismayed when I heard we were losing Spineshatter AND dragon sight, but your video has given me hope that I'll still find it fun. I will always be a bit upset that the gap closer isn't a jump though. It should be a jump. :)

What I’m trying to figure out from all the footage is how to weave the canvases into the rotation. It’s can’t all be downtime in fights, but instead you’ll have to do some “prep-GCDs” before your burst I guess
So four of the cards will always go to the tanks, maybe sometimes to a dps that doesn't avoid a mechanic in time. Hell, the tanks don't even need those card buffs because they already have busted self sustain. So really those four cards are completely useless.
Out of curiosity, is this "I was lucky enough to receive..." intro something that's on contract or something when you go to the media tour? Every person seems to have more or less the same exact intro to these media tour videos. Down to almost the same exact wording. Like now I'm imagining Yoshi saying "okay look, you have to say you were lucky".
I'm amazed so few people noticed the mistake here. The guaranteed crit from Bootshine/Leaping Opo doesn't come from Leaden Fist (right now) or from spending a Opo-opo's fury stack (in DT), it comes from being in the opo-opo stance and nothing else. That said, thanks for the coverage ! With all the crazy good videos you've made this past year or so, getting into the media tour was deserved !
Thanks for the vid, AST seems to be a hard pass for me now if I were to main a healer. Time to pick up SCH again maybe, my main now are AST SGE WM and have been abandoning SCH since Endwalker.
