I'm not sure if it goes under most favorite, but Barbariccia Ex was a lot of fun as dancer, weaving in and out of all the aoe attacks as everything comes at you from the small slow moving wind orbs to her constant dashes and line aoes. I just really felt awake in that moment and felt really good dodging all that came at you.

SAME! 1st time i did it has sage tho, but i had a black mage on my party doing it for the 1st time also and dodging everything while not letting that black mage die (i saw them at 100hp at one point) was satisfying

For me it would probably be Tsukuyomi, both normal and ex. From the visuals of the arena and how it shifts, all the symbolism of passing and mourning, and Wayward Daughter...it will forever live rent free in my head, and I wouldn't have it any other way. That song comprises both the theme of Yanxia Day (A Father's Pride), and Yanxia Night (A Mother's Pride), which is brutal considering her backstory. There is so much storytelling and emotion packed into one encounter.

You said exactly what I came here to say. My favorite character and fight in the whole game, for sure. Every time I play a fight with a long cutscene in it, I remember how Tsukuyomi used its add phase as basically a playable cutscene. The music perfectly sets the mood, too. Honestly it's difficult to avoid tearing up a bit when I even THINK about that fight. Tsuyu deserved a kinder fate...

Up until Endwalker's EX5, 100% was right with you there. Tsukiyomi is a gorgeous fight, visually stunning, mechanically satisfying, and that music is just so good. If not for how much I absolutely loved playing through EW EX5, she'd still be at the top of the list. Now she takes a very close and very honored second place.

My favorite non-raid fight is Baelsar's Wall. Not only because "Sloppeh", but every mechanic in the fight feels so fluid. Raid/Trial: Seat of Sacrifice, each part feels great, slightly frantic, and cinematically pleasing. To The Edge is phenomenal and still gives me shivers when I hear it.

E8S has yet to be dethroned as my top fight partially because it was my first on-content savage clear but mainly because even after solving them, clearing through light rampant, wyrm's lament, and icelit dragonsong felt so incredibly satisfying also the fight was really really pretty and the 2nd phase music was such a banger
@sirhc1528
@sirhc1528 Месяц назад
100% agree. I love that fight and it is in my eyes the best 4th fight ever made. Progging felt so good because the hardest mechanic was done quite early and after that you could adjust to prevent a wipe. I also dont like fighting 2 bosses as a "last" fight.

Mine's Sephirot. And not just because I met my wife in a Sephirot EX pug back in HW. The music, his falling down and coming back up massive, the mechanics being a hyper laser focused heavy execution fight just felt so freaking good when you do the fight without getting hit.
@Simmons101

TEA's soundtrack and sound design are so well done. The renditions of the raid tiers music done in a rock tone by The Primals makes it hit much deeper and much more hype.

Might be alone in this but UWU, it's my comfort ultimate. The way it layers 4 different sets of mechanics during the last phase is just incredible. It's very boomer of me having started in 2.0 but it's still my favourite fight.

I really love Seat of Sacrifice and Tsukuyomi, but I was slightly shocked no mention of Halicarnassus! O3S had a lot of dynamic phases and mechanics that were very identifiable and in the last phase, I think animal farm was such a good mechanic since it required you to reverse-solve mechanics that occurred earlier in the fight. Also I personally liked that there were various adds in each different phase, and there is plenty of times in the fight where there is more than 1 solution!!

I love the cool factor and storytelling of Seat of Sacrifice where you get all the players' abilities thrown at you, the speed and engaging healing of barbaricia extreme, nice introduction to savage of P5S carbuncle, fun factor of hallicarnasses savage, and UWU's tight movement though it's probably that I like untimates and haven't gotten around to any of the others yet.

I'm absolutely a casual but I ran Titan in Eden Savage on a whim in PF and it is probably the most fun fight I've ever been in. It was hard and definitely a skill jump for me, but I had a great party who kept the mood light and encouraging, and when I made it to the clear without dying I felt like a goddamm champion. I haven't run any savages since then (been really busy irl so no time to dedicate to it) but if you're a casual player like me who feels like they want to improve their skills with the job they main I really recommed giving it a whirl. You definitely will learn a lot, and possibly get a car.

It is absolutely criminal that e12s only got a passing mention here. The incredible design of phase two, the relativity mechanics, the tank buster becoming a party buster if they don’t pay attention, single, dual, and triple apocalypses entire gimmick of the aoes moving around the arena to the speed of different clock hands. It’s absolutely brilliant and hearing the music flare up for the first time as soon as the actual fight starts made me actually giddy like a school girl

the only bad thing about Gaia is that if ure not tanking, you dont dont do anything for almost half of the fight. Apocalypses are too dumb dumb for the rest of the party imo . Apart from that, best "modern" part2 boss from both ShB and EW

Mustadio, and tbh the whole of Orbonne Monastery is amazing, in fact Ivalice as a whole is my all time favourite Alliance Raid. But I really like Mustadio, mainly because it's fun to see sprouts running around all confused when he does his Last Testament, and they get one-shot. To be fair, Stormblood is a goldmine when it comes to excellent encounters, everything about STB is good.

The final fight of the Heavensward Alliance raid series is by far the best of all the Alliance raid series, because the whole bloody raid is about reaching Diabolos. The first fight sets the tone: this isn't your average raid, mechanics matter! Then when you finally get to the Life Gate, and you all, collectively, are holding back the darkness, you all feel like goddamn heroes in that moment. A Dun Scaith party finder is an instant sign up for me.

I grinded Rathalos EX for the mount and if I ever have to step into that fight ever again I'm gonna set all of my barrel bombs at my feet and set them off. As for something I actually like: Barbaricia is up there because of her sheer speed in phase 2 and making sure you can swing right into another pull if you miss positioning during the hair chain attack or something like that.

Randomly finding on of my clips in this video (I'm the dead WHM at 1:55 lol) made me feel old, not gonna lie. The Eden raids still feel so recent to me, yet here I am staring at my old horrible UI and a party list with people who changed their names or aren't even playing the game anymore. I had such a blast back then! It's hard to pick THE favourite fight in the entire game since there are so many to choose from, but O4s is definitely high up there. It was the first final Savage turn that I progged and cleared on content so I absolutely wear my nostalgia glasses writing this, but there was so much going on to overcome for baby AST me, the phase transition is just AWESOME to this day, it just sucks that the second fight had to loop halfway through.

I haven't done a lot of raiding or trial running compared to the larger playerbase, but I think out of all of the fights I've done, my favorite fight or most memorable one has to be T7S. Something about the Savage Coils really makes them interesting, and doing that fight and actually clearing it feels like such an accomplishment, because it's so demanding of everyone to be on top of things. It's really annoying to do and hard to recover from, but it feels good when all the pieces fall together, everyone does their job, and it works out.

Golbez EX is the first that pops into mind for me, might partially be it being my first on release extreme I got to do, but the stored sword mechanics, gale 2/3, void stardust, and even the knockback meteors was just really fun to figure out and engage with. Also getting to hear "YOU WRETCH" just after the first meteor mechanic.

Really niche pick here, but the pre-6.3 odin fate was stupidly cool imo. Coolest part is definitely tanking the tank-stack vuln-up auto-attack every three seconds, healers needing to constantly have esuna on hand, to dps managing the gungnir adds he throws under thresholds of health and more even lower so he doesn't kill everyone with his raidwide, so tough but so damn fun.

Probably related to the fact that it's during the time I started raiding in ff, e4s is still my absolute favorite savage fight. Was challenging enough with a number of different strategies flying about, where you could really shine with knowledge about how each specific mech functions when something goes wrong; the puzzle aspect forced you to keep a cool head even when the tempo of the fight increased with each phase. However, that was eventually surpassed by tea, where it's mostly the fact that I am a sucker for time mechanics (and no, it's not because I started raiding then - I started progging tea much later, shortly after ew release), but it's also a properly challenging encounter with interesting and diverse mechanics and probably the most epic enrage sequence ever.

TEA was such a fun fight to prog from start to finish. I cleared it maybe a month ago now and I remember the absolute joy I had on my face when I first say that PA transition cutscene and Moebius kicked in. The fight is so well structured and I appreciate fights where you can clear a mechanic without ever seeing it yourself by just watching and studying someone else explaining or doing it. I studied so much that once I got to fate cal A and B I knew them like the back of my hand that I was able to do it perfectly and consistently everytime. I love TEA for everything and while some things can be a bit finicky (*ahem* Nisi pass ticks) it's still an overall enjoyable fight that I'm sad I didn't get to experience on content since I joined back in 6.2

I have had exclusively poor experiences in organized group content, so I've come to find enjoyment in the things I can do solo. Capturing moments in time that can't really be recaptured is soloing old bosses that are just on the edge of possibility, figuring out how to adapt group mechanics to a single person, and triumphing over these unique challenges. God Kefka is an amazing fight, and I think figuring out how to solo him has probably been my most memorable personal raid experience, and I'll miss it once Dawntrail comes out and that delicate balance of power is lost.

Honestly, I think Proto-Carbuncle is one of my favorite fights. Aside from the Devour memes, it had decent mechanics, an okay Abyssos-era dps check, and used the arena in ways that we don't often get to experience. I do also want to give a shout out to P2S's water slide mechanic. If you didn't blind prog that then you missed out on something special. The eureka moment when my cohealer and I tried to wipe the party after a bad mechanic to actually survive was great.

E4S has been my favorite fight for awhile now. I did it towards the end of Shadowbringers, a last ditch effort to try and get into raiding for that 4-seater in particular, not having a static (still even) led me to get a PF farm going on Crystal (miss when I didn’t have to go to Aether for everything), and it. Was. Amazing. As a Scholar Main, I figured out mechanics so well that even people who had cleared were dying more than I did. To the point I realized the delayed timing on the animations and took that to my advantage instead of complaining, actually liking the mechanical reward that gave me in spite of the artificial difficulty. And I even saw Enrage once thanks to a poor party, though that one time was also the only time I ever saw Phase 3 as the rest wiped or killed before. After 3 clears, I got the mount, yet I weirdly kept wanting to do it more.

I started playing back in 2014 but didn't start savage raiding until ShB. It was alot of fun and made me progress as a player. Then for EW I lead a static for all 3 raid tiers and did call outs. It was my personal goal to beat an entire raid series while it was current. When my static finally beat p12s, not gonna lie I teared up a bit. The whole experience definitely made me grow as player and just as myself. As for fights, P8S phase 2 has to be my favorite! I really enjoy High Concept 1 and 2 as mechanics, since they're so puzzle based and just fun to do! I also think they're one of the few savage mechanics that feel like they could be an Ultimate mechanic due to their puzzle nature.

I joined in mid-ShB, with Eden's Gate off-content being my first savage tier. I've since done every savage from then on and 4 ultimates, and TEA still stands as my absolute favorite piece of content in the entire game. It's a masterpiece from top to bottom, what I consider to be the peak raiding experience. That aside, my second favorite encounter is E12S, which was so fun and well put together. (Not to mention, "Promises to Keep" still remains my favorite track in all of XIV.) I also have a huge soft spot for O12S as I made many friends and fond memories there. The phase change cutscene from E8S will forever give me goosebumps, the fast-paced action of E4S will always make my heart race, and back in the day nothing was better than clearing E6S, or Memoria Misera EX, (which was such a fun fight whose design deserves more praise than it gets!).

Zeromus EX is my favourite. FF4 holds such precious nostalgia for me, and while Zeromus EX is beyond easy, it was my first on-content EX I ever got to clear and Zeromus remains one of my absolute favourite endgame bosses in the franchise! I know a lot of people don't like that FF4 was so obviously hammered on peoples' heads for engame in EW, but I have SUCH nostalgic adoration for it that my first time getting to do patch content current? Just cannot hate it. I practically live in ZeroEX and actually genuinely LOVE teaching this fight to people! A close second is honestly P10S. It's one of the fights that I was able to really push myself. It's also special to me because it's the first fight I was able to confidently grasp, write a guide for (for friends), actually teach, and do callouts effectively in for my static. It really tested my abilities and helped me improve significantly as a raider and healer.

Casual here, but there are so many amazing fights in this game. I might have to go with Dun Scaith, though, partly because the first boss reminds me of how much I’ve grown as a player, and for the no job stone run my FC did of it recently. Diabolos Hollow is also just a great boss encounter.

Normal Raid: A12N, the transition sequence at 70% is peak, IMO Alliance Raid: Dun Scaith, The chaos of doing this in DF is really enjoyable Extreme: ALL OF EXISTENCE, BENT TO MY WILL! Savage: Hephaistos, despite the trauma of Snakes 1, its a fucking fun fight Ultimate: Perfect Alexander my beloved

The dying gasp both regular and extreme are both still a favorite of mine to this day. It feels like a good conclusion fight to Shadowbringers but also the what we thought was a send off to such a great villian.

E6s is probably one of my favourites. Something about it just feels so flashy and epic in nature, with all the massive explosions, and getting launched far into the air on a mech failure, not to mention the 2 bosses fusing into one super primal. I might have a soft spot for it with it being my second savage raid clear, but it’s just such a cool fight for me.

Castrum Fluminis, both normal and EX, is top tier storytelling. The way the mechanics relate to her backstory and personality is *chef's kiss*. The mechanics for EX are also just demanding enough to be a challenge without being overly complicated for people doing it somewhat blind in PF. Similarly, Nidhogg EX is an epic fight with banger music and atmosphere. The phase change where he says "Thy final verse is sung!" and Nidstinien shows up, is super hype. And then the final phase really feels like he's pulling out all the stops and trying to kill you with his sheer rage. UWU was fun for me to learn, and the phase transition to Ultima still gives me chills sometimes. I haven't tried any of the other Ultimates yet, but from watching streams/videos and glancing at guides, I think those will be among my favorite content once I clear them. Puppet's Bunker might be my favorite alliance raid in terms of mechanics. I like fights designed in a way where they introduce mechanics one by one, then combine 2 of them, then combine 3-4 that you have to solve all at once.

A3S - Living Liquid. After literal months of trying, I beat him a few weeks before the launch of Midas and it was the most gruelling but fun prog I've ever had. Seeing that final Cascade cast when you're just praying for a clear has never been topped for me and probably never will be. I also thought the mechs and how they demand responsibility from every player was great.

The Dead Ends is my favorite dungeon and I think Shiva EX is my favorite fight to do, not because of the mechanics or anything like that but actually because I LOVE being that guy that hypes up the experience for the sprouts by letting them know to put their favorite emote on their hotbar and use it after she casts diamond dust. The fun of being frozen solid in any weird or awkward position you happen to be in when it goes off, even if that's in mid-air lmao is just so satisfying to me. :D
@astrealove2247
@astrealove2247 Месяц назад
May I ask why you like Dead Ends? I personally think that dungeon is horrible, the trash packs are boring, and the bosses are awful, non of the bosses have interesting mechanics, and it doesn't have a cohesive landscape, it feels like they had 3 ideas for dungeons, and then merged them in to one.

E4s in terms of savage is probably my favorite. i was really amazed with the go up and go down mechanic when it first appeared, sad they never used anything similar with verticality in any other savage since. my favorite ultimate is probably ucob just because of how epic it is, the hardest to prog/clear was for sure TOP, but i never felt it was thaaaat epic. its just brutal and really fun, but a guy with a chicken in his chest cant be as epic as bahamut. haha

It's hard to pick one as the fight that I love the most since I've done all the ultimate's. All that are incredible by design, so instead I will have to give this title to the fight that made the biggest impression to me when I was still a young sprout who didn't know what a stack marker was. The Final Steps of Faith (Nidhogg) was the moment that made me fall in love with FFXIV and made me want to play even more. It wasn't the hardest fight but it left a impression on me, I'm a DRK main so of course I wanted to farm for the Nidhogg DRK sword so I had to learn the extreme version of the fight and as I ran around like a headless chicken I begin to learn what it takes to play this game on another level.

I was part of the bombardment of TEA tweets LOL - so TEA is deffo my fave. But for Savage, I have a soft spot for P8S since it was my first final fight of a tier, and I reallllyyyyy like High Concept as a mechanic.

My favourite fight... For extreme: Shinryu. I love running across the tail as the music swells and it's just so good, then getting on his back for the enrage. Savage: E8S without a question. I was progging it when I was the happiest in my life, and I love the dance of it. That said, E4S is very close, and O4S is my favourite to solo. Final Omega also feels visually like peak FF raiding to me. But E8S overall is just... I want to be in 5.2 again. Normal mode alone: The Final Day. I don't think I need to explain this one. Normal+ex combined overall: Suzaku, actually. I love the music and visuals, and the Phoenix says quadrant stuff. DDR giving a damage buff is cool too. Ultimate: TEA. Getting kicked from my second group ever for the fight led to me meeting my best friend, and when I finally got the clear two years later, I did it to prove her right that I could do it. PF was way kinder to me than the various statics I tried, where even in one where 5/8 had already cleared, we couldn't reach Gavel after a few months, to clearing in two weeks from start to finish in PF. I know you'll never watch this video or read this comment, but that clear was for you, Thalie.

Oracle of darkness is by far my favorite. Second raid tier I ever did and it balanced nostalgia for old FF games and FF14 low perfectly I think. Plus, doing the time mechanics perfectly is still one of the most satisfying mechanic resolutions to me.

My experience is very *very* tiny But my favorite raid at the moment is Soul of the Creator. It's the first content in the game where I got to go through the process of learning the fight, and that's really satisfying. I also love the way the music shifts perfectly with judgement.

O11 is my favorite normal raid and O11S is my favorite savage, it's just such a fun high energy fight that manages to keep me engaged throughout all of it. Larboard/Starboard shenanigans, the intermission phase in savage with the rotating tether and towers, when my group hit enrage for the first time and the music stopped, only to start back up again for the next pull in one of the most memorable moments in the game for me. I could do that fight every day for the rest of my life and not get bored. T9, A8S, and O8S are my other favorite fights and they all hold a special place in my heart but O11S in particular is just the best of the best in my opinion. Currently blind progging O12S with that group and hit P2 recently which is very fun, excited to see what Eden and Pandaemonium has in store when we eventually get there, and excited to do current content finally once Dawntrail comes out.

My favourite fight in FFXIV still has to be E11S I'm slightly biased since E9-12 was the first tier I ever did in Savage on content, but something about the combination of the music, and the mechanics involved in that fight just tickle something in my brain, and I love it.

i like zeromus ex, its a fun yet challenging fight that also really drives home not dying a lot, one persons death can easily domino into everybody else's, theyre fights ive done where even as a dps if i died it didnt feel like a lot was lost but in this one there are so many stacks and spreads to worry about that you cant afford to be on the ground too long
