I have a few questions can I set up a 20 gallon long similar to this for a lowboy frag tank ? 6:24 and if so what’s the best way to set it up will I need all the extra unions or couplers you have on this ?
I built it on the tank just to show ppl how to actually build it dumbass. It was for educational purposes. And if you already built one the same way for your 225 then why are you researching how to build one?????
Is that yellow torch a 24 kt banana or a holy grail? It beautiful. I used to use phosguard and it worked but last batch I bought did nothing to lower po4! I guess I got a bad batch! have you tried gfo?I heard that works too! Thats what I ended up buying after the phosguard didnt work and been using it for 4 years!
After a year, boil it, lay it in bleach, boil again and re-use, they dont EVER need to be thrown away. Can have the same matrix for 50 years if you keep rejuvenating it
I watched this and the installation video. I like the idea of using bags so you can run two medias. If you used a sleeve slightly smaller in diameter than the tube to hold the bags in place, or installed a third plate, so there would be one at the top AND bottom of your 3/4 PVC extension pipe, do you think you could also run bio pellets in the leftover space?
Just bought a used red sea tank in excellent condition. New to the hobby and will need do some light cleaner regular tap water is ok used clean everything?
This is a great idea. I've also been thinking about doing it as well. But here's the problem, when they are painted black you don't know where to stop with your magnet cleaner before hitting the inside silicone. Especially if you use the one with the plastic scraper blade. This is the only reason I have not done it yet.

@@MikeLemming coral prices are still high. I still get emails from suppliers with wholesale prices. Reefing is cheap compared to what I've been up to the last 4 yrs
My LFS held up a bottle and told me its the best stuff, gentlest on corals. He said you can even forget about a corla in the dip for hours and they shrug it off
Billy, you initially had this on the bottom of your fuge and then switched to placing in filter bags because you wanted water to flow THROUGH IT. Matrix instructions show to put in canister filter or drip technique which to me is usually lower flow. Where did you get info on HIGHER FLOW? I am debating on placement. Either in DRAIN area sump because of high flow or inside reactors where I can control the flow. What do you think? IF I put in reactors, how much GPH is IDEAL?
I am using TM Pro and considering switching to RPM Blue Box. I do AWC about 1.5 Gallons a day. I use TM Pro because I can store water for a bout a month with very little impact to its chemistry. Do you feel RPM can be stored for about a month and used with AWC successfully?
If I’m not mistaken the reef brite actinic does in fact hit the UV spectrum of 395-400 so yes it could still be the UV portion of blue actinic that makes them bounce. (I think)
March 2024, and I can say this stuff definitely works. My local fish store helped me set up a 9 gallon planted tank, and recommended I use this as a supplement… Zero ammonia and zero nitrites after almost 2 weeks. The plants are actually growing pretty nicely already, so I'm sure they contributed… But I definitely am going to use this stuff anytime I start a new aquarium, whether it be for fun, or an emergency.
Hey brother I have the same uv I want to hard plumb my UV what kind of adaptors are those that connect to the UV because the AQUA uv comes with barb fittings. Can you please let me know thanks bud
Don't use it at all unless you like to have dinos. Try Restore by Brightwell. It is not as Concentrate. All the concentrated coal foods will cause Dino's.
