So my nano reef tank build is finally complete. This Waterbox 20 build has been a smooth but emotional ride and I'm looking forward to future tank updates. Hope you enjoyed the build process.
Pistol shrimp and a goby would be lovely but I believe you’d need slightly deeper sand to allow the shrimp to build his empire.😁 Dave had a pipefish iirc, that’d be awesome if you could eventually get one in here. It’s like a little jewel sitting there, and it’ll just keep getting better. What an amazing thing to honour Dave. 👍🏻👍🏻❣️
Just .02 on Pistol. I hate mine. Plows up everything everywhere. I cannot keep anything on sandbed that I don’t want covered in substrate or taken into a hole. Just lost a beautiful Orange Ric bc I didn’t get it off the sandbed fast enough when it fell off a plug up above. If you had an issue I suppose it would be easier to remove though. Inspired by this tank, I am putting together a list to start collecting what I need for my build which will be similar to your. 🤗
a small recommendation. I would use anemone protection for the flow pump. Unfortunately, I got one anemone in the pump and was chopped up. otherwise I like your nano very much.
Ahhh yeah! Get a cucumber ;) And get the pods and the pipefish and the yasha / pistol pair. I would also get a few of those really small apogon cardinal fish to hang near the surface
Greens my favorite color and I'm planning on starting my first saltwater tank with the waterbox! If the timing lines up I'd love to have a piece of those frags (im close to central jersey)! BTW that tank is absolutely gorgeous!
Great idea for a reef tank. Really interested to watch how you control that gsp on the sand. I do know it can crawl on sand as I have witnessed first hand last year.
The tank came out great bud I really love it 💯👍 I have a question Billy my nitrates are at 4 ppm and my phosphates are at 0.037 using a Hanna Phosphorus ULR do you think that’s to high for phosphates???
