So either a Medium or Large will fit you just fine. I would suggest using any future plans you have for bodyweight to help sway one way or the other. If you intend to gain weight over time then I'd go with the large. If you intend to lose weight over time then the Medium. If you don't plan on changing weight in the future then either will work, I generally prefer more overlap so there is less pinching when doing it up, so I would say the Large. But your preference might be to have less overlap.
So I just recently starting doing smith machine squats with a wide stance, sumo squats (getting back into deadlifting), and benching (twice a week) - I do other workouts as well for my own athletic gains and not for competition or anything. I do either stairs or paced cardio at the end of each workout sesh. which shoes do you recommend? I was thinking either the notorious lifters or sumo gens. They got different types now on the website apparently but wanted to get your opinion. Thanks!
I wouldn't recommend Notorious for cardio, simply because they are a specialized shoe with a fairly soft sole (to improve grip), so wearing them for cardio will likely wear them down quicker. That said I think you'd be find in either the Lifters of a Sumo Sole, but the sumo sole might provide longer life since it has a slightly thicker sole.
@@InnerStrengthProducts appreciate it! I’m thinking of bringing my cardio shoes separately and use it when I’m done with my workouts. I was leaning towards the sumo gens because I want the grip and be “stuck” to the ground when doing squats, benching, and deadlifting.
On the SBD website, they only show the standard sizing and not the tight fit sizing. Luckily, I stumbled on your video and you showed me that sizing down to the tight fit is possible. I had no problem getting on the tight fit size. I would have most likely went with the standard sizing if it wasn't for this video. Many thanks to you, Ryan! Also, thanks for trying 3 sizes down. It was definitely informative and entertaining at the same time LOL
Happy to help. We also removed the tight fit from our product pages as we found it confused some customers who would order a medium then email and ask for the tight fit medium.
As someone who deadlifts conventional but squats medium to wide stance, would you recommend I go for the notorious lifters for the allrounder or the sumo sole gen 1/2s for the grip?
My knees are 31,5cm and calves are 37,5cm. With the original 7mm sleeves I could wear XS. But the phantoms started to tear after 6 months. Do you think I should buy the same size for the „powerlifting“ knee sleeves?
Hi I want to buy sbd belt. My waist measurement is 84 -85cm and I'm pretty lean. Is L too big for me because I plan to decrease my weight by 3 - 5 kg, and my waist might be around 80cm at it's lowest. After that I plan to maintain my weight maybe even gain a little bit in further future.
for some reason my belt buckle is super stiff and will stay closed even with no pressure and its kinda hard to adjust it sometimes, is there anything i can do about that?
@@InnerStrengthProducts After watching your video on how to fold them to fit the knee i realized that size XL is perfect for me so thank you for the quality videos you put on youtube. You guys are awesome. 👏👏
Hello Ryan, I want to buy my first knee pads, I have a calf size of 41 and a knee size of 41.5, I am 1.75 tall and weigh 93 kg, SBD told me that I could wear up to size L, what do you think?
Hi thanks for the vid just about to finally bite the bullet and purchase an sbd belt but… I am currently 202lbs which is the heaviest i have ever weighed and am a bit bloated as my diet isnt perfect. Measuring around 37/38.5” around belly button but will probably drop some when leaning up, would you recommend the large even though i am at the top end of the belt measurements atm. Thanks.
I recommend the flexible to anyone who isn't sure they want a very stiff wrist wrap. I have used the same pair for years without any noticeable decline in performance.
Hey, Inner Strength the video was sooo helpful. But I was just wondering, my waist is measuring at a 40.5cm and i'm not sure if my midriff is going to tighten down or bulk up with my core routines. What belt size would you recommend?
The Sumo Sole Gen 2 are not commonly being released. I think the Gen 3 provide excellent traction and they would serve you well for competition benching.
I'm 31-32 depending on bloat and bracing @ 6ft 75kg. I would like to hit 85kg over a couple years. Really torn on medium or large. Concerned that with a medium I would have no overlap, and a large may be too large. I know you don't use pant size, but in a 32 pant I need a belt cinched tight.
thx for info and detail presentation of fits for different sizes , considering how pricey they are sbd did poor explaining fits and sizings , my knee cap is exactly same 44.5cm so going with 2xl
Hey inner strength I’m entering my first comp and I’m 275lbs or 125kg I’m planning on getting a 3xl but the sizing chart says to maybe go a size up if taller I’m 6’3-6’4 but I’m in the middle of the pack for the weight class should I do 3xl or 4xl? Thanks
Hey there, mate. I’m 6 feet 3/192cm, and at 83kg, I’m at the upper end of the large (70-85kg) and find that the large I’ve bought is tight on the shoulders and slightly loose around the belly. Love the styling and fit around the legs.
My knee circumference is around 14.5-15in which is right on the edge of Large. Would you recommend sizing down to Medium for a tighter fit? I’m currently using the rigor mortis.
Yes I think you could size down to the medium but they will be likely quite hard to get on. I don't have experience with the rigor mortis so can't say for sure how hard they would be in comparison.
I have 37/38cm knee and 34/35cm calves and I already use knee sleeves (other brand), should I buy medium or large? I am talking about the old original knee sleeves, not the powerlifting new one
Hi Ryan, thanks for the video, I got 40.5~41cm knees with 42ish cm calves putting on that XL to 2XL line, planning to mainly use them for heavy squats. Never used any sleeve before, what size would you reccomend?
Man do you guys know your audience! My belt just arrive today (from you guys) and the first thing I found was the video on how to assemble it. Then I had this exact issue from this video and this video was the first google search result 😄
