Without seeing your refrig, it would be hard to tell. My water dispenser on/off toggle snapped but it did not cause a leak. On my refrigerator a leak or bottom drawer "pooling water" is from the water line to the ice maker freezing up. Check underneath the bottom drawer and see if you have ice or water building up. Unfortunately, it is a common thing with this model. We don't use the ice maker any longer... back to ice cube trays to avoid this water pooling. Best of luck to you!
Wow I don't have the same brand of fridge.I do, however, your tutorial here was excellent.Thank you so much for taking the time to post it and for the good angles of your hands and the tools and what you were doing is perfect much success on your channel
Thanks so much! I try to show all the detail from the viewer's perspective (what I would find helpful if watching) Often takes two cameras running at the same time or two takes. I really appreciate your post!!
I imagine lots of folks will say it is a bad idea to bypass a safety feature, but frankly this particular one is bad design, not to mention somewhat redundant. I think your solution will solve the exact problem I am having with my EGO mower, and probably many others as well. Thanks for the video.
Yep a lot of safety features on this machine I don’t mind bypassing one of them. The jump wire has been working for 2 years now. I avoid folding the handle now as a rule to prevent any new problems with the wire harness. Thanks for watching and I hope this fixes yours!
Thanks! Based on 84k views, it must be happening to a lot of people. I’m guessing/ hoping Ego is aware of the problem in these early mowers and has made corrections to the design. I really like my mower. It continues to do a great job after 6-7 years!
Adding to what others have said- putting modern cement-based mortar over lime mortar will cause the old mortar trapped to rapidly deteriorate. You can test this by revisiting this (or another similar) job, removing some of your work and seeing how everything behind it is starting to disintegrate and your mortar may not have a solid substrate behind it. This process even occurs above grade in areas protected from rain. It’s the changing temperatures and humidity levels that introduce the moisture more than anything else.
Thanks for your reply and insight. This is good information for folks to take into consideration. Fortunately, the work we did is inside where the temperature and humidity are controlled. We will use a lime base for any future exterior repairs. The other work we did (inside) is now 7+ years old and it all seems to be fine to date. There are two camps on lime vs modern cement based mortar and I appreciate your thoughtful feedback to share with me and others!
Yes, by nature stone walls are buried. However, typically the soil holds the original mortar in place on the buried portion. If you are concerned, excavate and examine the mortar. Some suggest using lime mortar on the weather exposed exterior wall.
Should even the smallest amount of gas be drained? I added just enough gas to get it started, ran it a while till it ran out of gas. But looking in the gas tank there is still just a little gas left in the tank.
Thanks as others this was bot explained. I had to lol because I've had it one afternoon and had already rummaged through the sock drawer. I did not know how to properly get it off and hurt myself So thank you
You are welcome. Check the description as well for a roll of cast padding or Dynarex Cotton Stockinette, 2" x 25 yds. Roll these work well. Hope you subscribe and heal quickly!
Hi! I have that type of fridge. Ever since that door part broke, it leaks ALOT into the drawers and under them. Did yours do that? If so, will replacing that part stop constant defrosting? Thanks
Hi, it might help however, the condensation / water you are referring to is an ongoing problem with ours as too, I believe many people have this problem with this refrig. I've tried 4 different fixes to keep it frosting up and dripping under the drawers (and ice maker freezing up) and nothing has helped we are unfortunately back to using an ice tray as well.
I would add - when you are finished washing, let the old gas burn out. It's easer. ...and that's the thing I always forget to do. Thank you MI-Tinker! saved me 50 bucks!
I know this is old but I so appreciate you! I just had to buy a new double oven today as ours has broken twice. Then my mower wouldn't start (you can't make this stuff up). I watched your video and tried to replicate but the spare wire I have was too thick. So, I used a staple (literally) as my jumper, wrapped it in electrical tape and it started and ran just fine! I'll probably get a better jumper wire later but it worked! Thanks again.
How did you break your arm playing pickleball? Running for a lob? Running for a different shot and falling? Having fallen on the court myself, and seemingly fractured my wrist (very minorly), I'm interested in how something as bad as a break would happen.
Match point for national qualifier. The opponent put a lob over my partner. I sprinted diagonally behind her (and returned it 😜) but my momentum took me into a roll and my left hand took the brunt of the momentum. I also used to wear a Fitbit band (non flexible kind) on that wrist. That is exactly where it broke. I believe it’s rigidity of that band aided in the break. I wear an elastic band now. Still play tournaments 😊
Yes. It is easy to break if it is pressed high on the rubber lever. Less often so the lower you push on the rubber covering the lever. Hope this helps 🙂
Great video. Followed these steps for the 2019 RY803001 model and worked perfect! Did not need to do the starting fluid. Used ethanol free 4 stroke gas from Home depot.
SAMSUNG .... NEVER AGAIN !!!! My wife and i have disassembled our rf266aers once a month in the past 4 months. each time a little different problem . Much appreciated for your video . I will however never stop preaching AGAINST SAMSUNG
I feel your pain. I've tried fixing the frosting up problem 5 different ways. Ice develops under the crisper AND ice maker stops working. After defrosting and trying multiple ways to fix it it only lasts 10 days- 2 weeks and the ice maker freezes up and stops working again. I understand there is some sort of class action suit regarding so many people having problems.
@@mi-tinkerthere are some good vids about fixing the icing problems in the refrigerator section. You willl have to watch a few vids bc no one tells the whole story so you have to piece it together so persevere. I did it and it’s held for a year now. It is not for beginners but you seem handy. No special tools required just patience. You have to buy an auxiliary heater wire and wire it into the existing power wire. Also you have to put in an insulator kit. I think all the parts were $60 or so on Amazon. -The Samsung guy will come out if you have an ice maker issue. I had to defrost it a couple times and it was brutal. They replaced the entire ice maker unit. Call them and you may be surprised. It’s been 4 months since that and it’s ok. My French door fridge is 5 yrs old. Samsung is pretty bad. Too bad Sears went out of biz. I loved kenmore.
@chilitoday Thanks for the info. If you can send any of the RU-vid links you found helpful, that would be great. I’ve really tried 5 different fixed and within 10-14 days things ice up again. My ice maker works fine when it’s not iced up.
First off thank you for the info you provide. I have a 21" Select Cut EGO mower that starts up an runs for a few seconds and then shuts off. It Normally starts back up again runs for 15 or 2o seconds then sure of again. Any idea what the problem might be. Thank you
Thanks for the question. Do you have a second battery to test if the battery is the problem? It sort of sounds like what happens with some of my other battery powered equipment when the battery is losing power. Maybe the battery is at the end of its life span. Alternatively, there may be a problem with one of the safety switches cutting out while in use. I had an issue with it not starting after I sharpened the blade as well. I took it off again and then it worked just fine. Evidently it was not tightened correctly and the second time putting the blade back on it ran fine. Let us know if you solve the problem!!
Our door on our Samsung hasn’t worked for over a year. I figured there might be a video by someone on repair. Yours was the first video that popped up - and it’s exactly what I need to do. You are amazing!! 🙏
You are awesome !!! Now I can get my 1st E-go out of shed and fix it , same exact symptoms!! I loved that mower so much I bought another !! Thank you so much for this insight. Wish you were in my neighbor hood!!!!
I have the same situation! Ego warranty sent me a new mower as a replacement, which I sold and bought a higher-end model. I've been keeping this one around because I couldn't part with it for the $50 I figured I would get with it not running.
I didn't watch this video to the end; because I 'knew' what you were going to find. ONLY because I watched a video last year; about a 'dead' EGO mower; and the problem was with the wires in the handle where it folds. Please correct me if I'm wrong.
LOL... Then don't buy a Samsung refrigerator! The EGO mower has frustrated a lot of folks with the wire harness issue for sure. I will say, the fix was pretty easy and I'm still using it on after 7 years with original battery. Better than most gas mowers.
