Hi quick question mine was acting like one side was freezing ok but the biger buckets was defrosting all my food no matter what - C or +F you set it on then I turned it off for just all day ,then turn it back on I see a Warning 02 sign on that little screen saying Short circuit and can’t even set on stay solid warning 02 sign any idea what’s wrong with it ? Thanks 🙏
Eeeekkk that doesn’t sound good. An E-2 warning is saying something about ambient temp to high. Is your fan turning on? It might be your sensors not reading right.
@@BeastFamilyADV na my fan don’t even act like working and I tried couple time to knock ✊ knock ✊ 😂 it didn’t respond this Fridge made my July 4th very happy 😃 any way Happy 4th of July ! thanks for responding God bless :)
Typically, I go to upgradegeneratorsupply.com for all my parts and maintenance. All the upgrades I did to my 3500 was ordered from them. Customer service is good too. Unfortunately, they do not have anything for the 5000 yet. Besides some Amazon or EBay covers, I haven’t found anything specific.
@@Oharsh0928 so, it gets messy, you can get in there pull a fuel line and drain it out or, my favorite method and I think the easiest, just let it run dry. That’s of course if you don’t want to store it with any fuel. I only use rec89 or rec90 non ethanol fuel and start it approximately once a month for 20 minutes and have put hundreds of hrs on multiple generators with not one issue.
Yaaaassss!!!!!! Love it! I’ve been considering selling the 3,500. The 5,000 is better in every way. Just remember that the remote in your pocket can cause you to go crazy lmao
Any truth to the rumor that California forces a too-lean pilot jetting to get CARB approval? Mine has always surged and cleaning the carb did nothing. I've been living with it for years.
Now I know some people have been rejeting the carb to lean it out for better efficiency. But as far as California requiring a too-lean situation? Lol it wouldn’t put it past me with California lol however, I have not heard anything about it
Have you made sure the remote is not in your pocket? Lol put the remote in a safe place, it’s very touchy. If it shuts down for no apparent reason, return it as defective. It may be an old version that should have been replaced
That ideal screw is only supposed to have 2 threads coming out the other side is only there to keep the pilot jet in. Throttle is controlled by the solenoid.
Repair person tells me these predators will eat you alive on repairs because she states you nearly have to completely dismantle them ( HOURS XX ) to do the repairs, I never thought about service issues and actual time it would take BEFORE you got to the repair part
It’s cheaper just to buy a brand new one. You can always buy a HONDA FOR $3-4k lol besides the original 5,000 that was released. I haven’t heard too many problems. People (full time RVers) have reached out to me with the 3,500 with well over 1,000 hrs on them with no issues and simple maintenance. I probably not send this out to a repair shop. I’d just return it ( if you can) and / or buy a new one. You can buy like 3-4 of these for the price of a similar sized Honda.
lol… at 8:30 your comments on the build quality of the camper😂😂😂😂😂😂. I completely agree! The more I dig into my Nobo the more I believe it was put together using child labor… but that seems to be the industry standard
Got my 5000 on the last sale. Twice it shut off on me randomly two days ago. Needless to say I don't keep the remote start hooked to my belt loop anymore.
I just got the Michigan pull up the RV with the 5000 and it shut off on me twice I watched your RU-vid video and my my key with another set of keys and change😅
@@adammiller5640 BROTHER!!!! lmao im telling ya!!! It drove me crazy!!!!!! I was dying when I realized what it was. lol Thanks for the laugh and knowing im not the only one lmao.
I just bought one and I was trying to fire it up today for the first time and I can't get it to start. I put about 3/4 of a tank of gas in it and I filled it with oil and I also oiled the air filter sponge in a plastic Ziploc baggie. Regardless, the thing will not start up. I shot some starting fluid in the air cleaner and it would stay running as long as I kept pumping it in there. Once I stopped it stopped. It's Saturday so I probably have to wait until Monday to call customer service and see if they can give me any information to get this thing started
So, have you tried to start it without the air filter? Also, make sure your fuel dial is set for gas and not propane. I’ll be honest with you, I have never even heard of soaking filters like that in oil. I know certain filters require oiling but I’m not sure about these. I haven’t done it In either the 3500 I have nor the new 5000 I have with over 400 hrs of run time. For maintenance, I just replace the filter, oil, and spark plug and that’s it
i want to get the 5000, but for now i use a 3500 full time and i get about 4 and a half days with 2, 5 gallon cans of gas. kinda sounds like the 5000 will get similar amount of days as the 3500, but im pushing about 350 watts constant all day with the computer. and when the fridge kicks on it goes full throttle. and same when charging my batteries after running a fan all night.
Yea obviously it all depends on your energy usage. I would assume the 5000 will get you better efficiency just because it’s operating closure to that 25% threshold where they say is the best efficiency. I really like both. But, I think the 5000 is taking the number 1 spot for me with the increase fuel capacity, remote stop / start, and 30 amp plug (no adapter needed). However, if you’re only using 350 watts constant, the 3500 would be the better option. For us living in south Florida, the A/C stays on the majority of year which keeps us around 1,000 watts give or take.
@@BeastFamilyADV i might upgrade in the future, but yea, up here in the north, it is not AC season yet. still too cold. under 48F at night and a max of around 60-68 during the day, and most of the time im parked under a tree, so constant shade.
Did you find out the reason? I found mine was cracked when my truck almost overheated. I started pouring antifreeze in and it started coming out the bottom. I’m assuming it’s cracked.
So, I’ve been monitoring the temperature. Especially when I towed our travel trailer 5 hrs to Jeep Beach. The temps never got close to over heating and I haven’t had another problem yet. So, simply, no I haven’t figured it out yet lmao but my crack was always at the nipple where the hose connects lol
Thank you so much for posting this. I could never have replaced my thermistor without this video. I just turned on my fridge and it is working properly for the first time in weeks! I am so grateful!
Shooooosh lmao maybe if you weren’t so lazy, you could have drove a little farther that weekend, hung out with all of us, and we could have collabed on a video lmao but nooooooooo you wanted to go to Ocala lol
Thanks for the info! Just wait until you hear what it actually was (after buying another one when they were re-released) lmao sometimes I’m a huge idiot lol
Yea I know, just pisses me off. $30-40k is a lot of money. In my opinion it should be enough not to have this kinda build quality! I did better building my WeeRoll trailer with no experience! Lmao
Looks like hole saws were too expensive so they just used a hammer instead. Good work on the upgrade to USB-C, you might be able to make a simple backing plate from some acrylic or aluminum to cover the hole so that the outlet doesn't get pulled from the wall.
lol I’m only at 35,000 miles right now. I have revved it pretty good at times but nothing close to being considered beating on it. It’s just really getting annoying to constantly dealing with this
Nice detailed video. We just bought a 5000, they had a Black Friday deal. It looks good, haven't set it up or ran it yet. Seems well made and relatively light...have seen good reviews of the more current ones. I also saw a video where someone parallelled a 5000 and 3500. They seem to work together based on what I saw.
@@kurtburkhardt5862 Yea so i looks like if you parallel them, all you get is double the capacity of the smaller unit. However, Harbor Freight says you must use the same size generators. I've been thinking about testing this. So far, I really like the new 5,000! I feel that's it more efficient when running my travel trailer. I will be testing this theory this summer when the heat is full on lol
I know right since I have been off grid for about 6 years now I have been using the predator products and with their warranty I have been having to replace my 3500 every 6 months due too bad carburetors bad blown or split oil seals bad sine wave capacitors oh and let's not forget the dreaded faulty oxygen sensor that you have to bypass so that the thing will run instead of stalling out on you about every hour on the hour cheap Chinese products I guess would be okay if your generator just sits in the corner until needed but for everyday use these generators are junk good luck with your generator I hope that it will last you a long time ✝️
wow, honestly havent heard about that many issues! Ive spoken to some subscribers that are full timers have have well over 1,000 hrs on theirs with no issues! I guess the bigger problem may be consistency with build quality. @@user-qb3ni6bk1d
I forward this hack from another YT channel Folks need to 4-get attempting to by- pass the CO sensor wiring Quick one step fix if the engine shuts off when the wind blows or when running the unit in a sound damping box Classified unredacted hack follow instructions carefully at the users own risk Step #1 Place a piece of duct tape over the CO sensor Step #2 N/A problem solved
This is true! I’ll be coming out with an update video soon. We have sent the rims out to get re-finished. Should be getting the jeep back next week. Thanks for the comment!
