Gracias por tu video me quede con el Sony, muy buena inversión al ser más foto que video esta espectacular. Thanks for your video I kept the Sony, very good investment as it is more photo than video, it is spectacular.
Great job 🤟, I have a Sony a lll I'm searching for my first Fisheye Len for skateboarding I’d like your advice for getting a good Len with a low-budget thanks 🛹🔥🐍
Hey Joe! Love the content. I’ve got an A7S III and am in the same boat. I can’t use my 18-105mm APC lens now, and it looks like the 24-105mm is my only option. Did you ever find an alternative? What are you using now? Any suggestions for a guy that needs a versatile focal length for long lens stuff and loves power zoom?
Hey there! I went with the 28-135 power zoom. Heavy lens, and price tag, but it's realllly great. Far better quality than the 18-105 I was using on the FS700
Do you know how to fix the uneven vignetting on the canon 8-15mm? I noticed my left side always has a little bit more vignetting than the right side. Also any idea why the vignetting would be wiggling or looking shaky? Appreciate any help with this.
Hey Derek- not really sure how to fix the uneven-ness of the vig. Kind of a pain, but perhaps you can crop in a hair in post and then reposition the shot, but I know that's not ideal. As for the wiggling- Do you have any sort of SteadyShot or Stabilization turned on in-camera? tHat is often times a culprit
Great video Joe! FYI you can use an APS-C fisheye such as the Rokinon 8mm on the Sony A7SIII with "Clear Image Zoom" to get similar results to the Canon 8-15mm at a fraction of the price. Best results are with the 8mm Fisheyes that have the removable hood.
Thanks RB, hope all is well! That’s intriguing for sure. How extreme can you get with this scenario though? I like to go FULL vignette sometimes for a super artsy look. Also, I’ve used Clear Image Zoom on some prime lenses on my FX6 before, but does it not lose some resolution that way?
Thats what's great about Clear Image Zoom is that there is no loss in quality. Unfortunately you cannot shoot in 120fps with it tho. Depending on the lens you are using you can get full vignette but only if there is full vignette without any additional zoom. I also film everything fisheye with maximum vignette and love using clear image zoom for that extra punch when using a 24-105 or 24-70.
@@RBUmali This is great info, thanks RB! I used Clear Image Zoom on the FX6 before I had my 28-135 and it's definitely a game changer. I think I would consider this route if my Canon got damaged, but I'm kind of spoiled at this point, and I love that I don't have to switch off the Clear Image function in order to shoot slo-mo, which I do quite a bit of. Maybe I'll see if I can find a Rokinon and do a side by side shoot out with Pros & Cons. Much love man, hope to cross paths out in the streets again one day soon!
What an amazing video Joe. Soundtrack is perfect. Matlin is a timeless creature who stopped aging and only gets better, all the OGs I needed to see and a few I forgot I needed to see were in there. Every skelly was represented! This vid couldn't have been improved on, except maybe more Buch! So hyped to watch this one over and over again like the rest your releases. Cheers fellas. $kellies for life!
Been trying to figure out what lens would be great for my Sony AX-53. I hear rokinon are good but idk which one. Do you have recommendations for the camcorder?
Dude, your content is fantastic for skate + photo nerds. Between 2004 and 2011, I fucked around filming my friends skate around my hometown on the east coast on a shitty (by today's standards) Sony Handycam. My dream was to film skating for a living. I just wanted to capture that 2000s skating STYLE and show it to the world. But for better or for worse, life took me in a different direction. I now find myself in the fortunate spot of being young enough to still have friends who rip the streets and want to be filmed, but I'm old enough to have a job that allows me to spend the kind of cash it would take to get a decent mirrorless + fisheye + handle + mic setup. Still hesitant on pulling the trigger, and you are answering some of the questions I've wanted to ask the skate filmers I looked up to as a kid who shot skate videos like Menikmati and In Bloom. So long story short - thank you!
Hey bro, i have a sony a6500, does the full frame lens fe 28mm and converter also work on this camera since its not a full frame camera? Does it affect the quality? Thanks!!
With the 8-15 mm, what Metabones adapter have you been using? What has your experience been with the video continuous autofocus with that combo? Thanks!!!
Really curious on how your computer is handling the 10 bit 4:2:2 footage. My older MacBook Pro is incapable of viewing the footage via thumbnail and requires the Sony Catalyst Browse software. Similarly, editing on Premiere without a Proxy really kills the CPU. What computer have you been using when working with 10 bit 4:2:2 and how has that been treating you? If you don't mind me asking! Thanks!
So, I'm able to edit the footage pretty smoothly in Premiere, on my iMac Pro w/ 3 GHz 10-Core Intel Xeon W. I do however have trouble with the 4k footage if I'm using my MacBook Pro, which is definitely a bummer when I'm on the road. Thank heavens for Catalyst Browse, as that at least lets me view and log the clips so I know that I'm getting what I set out to get!
@@killatape Thanks so much for the quick reply! When renaming and logging on Catalyst I always have found it a little hair pulling and not as fast as the quick space bar, view it, name it, move on... but hey you're right... it works! I know the 8 bit greatly reduces the hang ups with CPU functionality but I've yet to do a good comparison on 10 vs. 8 to see the risk reward. Thanks again, these videos are great!
@@killatape funny I has one but couldn't stand running it adapted. Also for photos the raw files would come out distorted and it was just a pain to deal with. I've been pretty happy just running the 14-35,f4 on my R5.
@@killatape I was just looking around on Yahoo auctions and I was able to pick up a Canon 15 mm 2.8 to 200 bucks. So I'm going to run with that and see how it is. I used to have the 8 to 15 and when I mess around with it I'd always accidentally push myself into vignetting. I'd sat around 14 and somehow the damn thing would end up at 13 or 12. Maybe my puppy was just crappy
Hey I just wanna say thankyou for fulfilling a childhood dream to see the raw footy. I remember getting that magazine when I first starting skating and just hoped one day id get to see the tries who knew it would be 15 years later. You rock man keep em coming SUBSCRIBED!🤘🏾
That's so rad to hear man! Thank you for sharing. It can be super weird making these types of videos sometimes, so it is always helps to hear when they resonate with people like you. Thank you!!!
Hi TheKilla Thanks for super fine video. I looking for a good fisheye lense to make 360 pano on a Sony A9/A7 fullframe and the Canon 8-15 a pupping up. I also make video A7Siii but it is for stills to stitch for 360 pano. Do you have a hint if this Canon 8-15 can be good for thar job. Thinking on use Sigma MC-11 adapter I also look on SAMYANG 8MM T3,8 VDSLR II SONY E CSII. But it a fix lense, but for a totaly other price. Regards from Morten
Hi Morten! I'll be honest I don't know if this would work for that or not. The only experience I have with 360 stitching is with cameras that do most of the work for you, i.e. the Insta360 One X
