Is it just me or is the audio on the new iPad Pro 13 M4 not as good as the 2018 iPad Pro? Is it just me or is the picture quality on the 2018 iPad Pro picture better than the M4? Is it just me or is the Magic Keyboard exterior quality incredibly poor and marks really easily. Pencil is ok though. Returning the M4 and keeping the 2018. Who cared that it’s thinner! Oh I can no longer access the RT app on the M4. Goodbye M4!!
Bought a 12.9 256GB Wifi and Cell 4th Gen last year from a friend who hardly used it. It works perfectly for me on the road for emails, spreadsheets plus note taking. Pretty impressive as it has no M chip at all. I found an apple folio keyboard on FB marketplace for a song. All of this cost less than a iPad mini 6th gen 64GB.
I was hell bent on getting the new 17in espresso display but that price tag was hurting … I think this is the perfect alternative for darn near $500 cheaper than the espresso
I bought the Beats Solo Buds on launch just 2 days ago. Great sound quality for an ultra low price. However the physical design is poor, takes awhile to find the best way to place it in your ear with the bulk of the weight pouring outside, leaving just the physical contact between your ear cavity and the rubber tips to keep it in place. I returned it yesterday.
The first thing they can get rid of is the screen on the outside. Totally not needed. And use more plastic instead of metal to make it cheaper and lighter. Though, I'll never buy one as I have no need/use for one. And I'm someone that still remembers when companies tried VR back in the 80's/90's.
If I can’t run apps like blender 3d, and after effects I will wait ; they keep upgrading chips but can’t run any desktop major apps that’s their down fall. However ZBrush is coming though.
Now that we know that there is m4 cheap, The MacBook air with m3 256gb 16 ram is a good investment for 3-5 years from now? No video editing or demanding task.
@@JimAllen-PersonaFor my personal work load, most of the time. I have an Intel 2020 iMac and the M1 Pro 14” with 16gb ram. Everytime I use either of the machine, I always run around 15gb ram on the 14” and about 22-24 gb ram on the Intel. The Intel has 64gb of ram but my point being is that 24 is not over kill at all, especially if you plan on using it for a very long time. 24gb Ram will be my next choice, that or 32gb ram. It’s a good choice!
Yes, but it's also going to be on the iPhone, MacBooks, and the iPad Air etc. so Apple people will have it. I still think the MacBook and 10th Gen is the best combo but just an opinion.
I’m got the m2 air 11” at $600 with the pencil as part of the student discount. I had the pro added to my cart but realised I don’t have and will not have the use case for that in the next 2-3 years so the air it is. Thanks for knocking some sense into us! RU-vidrs in general have the tendency to show/use the best and we often forget that we are not all video/photo editors, animators or artists. All of whom can still use the M2 Air. The only worthy upgrade is the oled display which is not worth the $400.
If you like to have the best, buy the M4. It’s much better than the alternatives. If you don’t have the money, get a cheaper product. The software is improving.
The software has had 15 years and Apple will not make it more like a real OS because of MacOS. It's just my opinion but it's not worth the price to me.
I bought m2 and battery giving 30 minites by cunsuming 10% of battery what should I do i bought 5 days ago .and battery draining 5 to 6 percentage in 12 hours how ever i close all the apps
Give it a few more days and make sure you don't have an app draining the power. The macs should lose some battery while sleeping and that is normal. It's hard for me to say but usually the devices use more battery during the first week doing updates behind the scenes.
The video I needed, I use the iPad Air 5th gen atm and I almost upgraded which would be ridiculous for my use case and the update to iPad os just make it even more ridiculous.👍
Hello from Southern California! Your videos are so well made. I appreciate the product reviews because I am a complete novice with technology. I have viewed your videos and subscribed as well.
What would be great is if they release a 2 in 1 13" - 14" foldable laptop with a touch screen and MacOS. The best of both worlds with the advantage of portability folded like a big iPad but then a laptop when you need the keyboard for work. I use a Dell 2 in 1 Windows laptop for work and it's amazing. I'm sure Apple could do it better.
I really never do use a touchscreen to be honest because I hate having fingerprints all over the screen. But I hear you on making a 2 in 1 but all they really need is to make iPadOS a bit more powerful.
Yes, and that is fine but I mean the other screens are great too and it's a small device. Why do you need such a screen on a 11 or 13 inch device? Just curious to be honest and trying to understand better.
So, now we have the first real generation of ARM for Windows chips, and although they are not beating Apple who are in their 3rd gen it is impressive how close they are. I use both windows and MacOS, and I am very happy to see that there is more competition. This makes sure that Apple is kept on its toes and cannot afford to slow down innovation and improvement, they must keep pushing the envelope. M4 series coming out soon, so, at the moment they are still ahead. MS will do further improvements in optimalisation and Qualcomm will also push forward. It also means that Intel and AMD will have to catch up, they cannot afford to be reliant at legacy in X86.
The air is nice. My point in the video is for most people the 10th Gen is all they need but of course there are people who just like an upgrade. Thanks for watching.
Posting here to Confirm the contents of this Video. I have a Mac Mini M2, 8GB Memory, with 256 GB Hard Drive. I needed some space. Used the links in this video and set it up today. This thing hums! I moved a lot of my files and non-Mac apps over to my 2TB SSD, and it has made a difference! My Machine is faster and everything opens up much quicker. I use MS Excel, for work on this Machine and it handles the heavy data I am running through it. This is by far one of the best and most useful recommendations for any of my Apple Products! If you are running out of space or your machine is bogged down....get this set up.....Oh, and yes, I speed-tested this bad boy, and honestly, my results were even a little faster! I'm not sure if the links offered here are Affiliate links, but just in case, toss Craig some credit and click on his links to buy this set up. And I just clicked subscribe!
Hi Craig, I want an Ipad mostly for reading alone. I actually compared the new pro to the previous air models and was amazed at how easy it was on my eyes when reading on the new pro especially when slowly scrolling. Is this something you have experienced or heard from others? Is this a valid factor for spending a lot more?
It depends on if you value it enough I guess. I myself am amazed that people spend all that money on the Pros but I'm just curious on what makes them buy them. Thanks for sharing.
I totally agree with the exception I wanted a larger second display when travelling so I found a second hand m1 12.9” for 1/3 the price of an m4 one with otherwise the same specs - using it with my 14” MacBook Pro. Very happy :)
No those who traded up when the M4 chip was introduced and who were expecting a reason for it on the new device. But then they realized the M2 is even overkill.
@@craigneidel do you have any statistics on how many people return the device ? I don’t think that many people buy a tech device just for a processor to begin with….
Apple would never give out specifics but I have read countless articles on this and also know a few insiders who work at stores and they give me the scoop. It's not everybody returning them and that is not what I said, but there are people returning them after they announced the iPadOS updates because they were expecting something more. Same thing with the Vision Pro but that is a much smaller group.
The 10th gen can’t use Apple Intelligence. I have the new Air because I want that feature and a bit more future proofing, and I like the new pencil with magnetic charging. I almost bought the Pro, but you’re right that the OS still holds it back a bit. I would have bought Pro just for the screen if it was $200 less.
Yes, but I don't care and most won't. We will have it on our iPhones soon and the Macs so why do I need it on an iPad is all. For most users the iPad is rarely used except for movies and watching content so in my eyes the 10th gen is way more then most need. Now if you fall into the 5 or 7% of people who really push the iPad then the Pro is not a bad idea.
Thanks for making this great video! I connected my M1 macbook to a 27" LG monitor, and then airplay to the 2020 iMac 27" Ventura. It works! The only problem is the Imac is a little lag, and its resolution is different from the LG monitor when I had both set up as 1920x1080. Graphics on iMac looks bigger and more yellow. Is there any way to fix the lag? I connected the LG and imac with a USBC to HDMI cable, it didn't fix the lag. lol.😄
Watching this on my M4 iPad Pro and also did a bunch of gameplay videos on my channel showcasing its power with AAA titles. Needless to say, I’m very happy/impressed with it, the GPU has more teraflops than the Xbox Series S (4.3 vs 4.0 on the XSS), in a tablet that is super thin but sturdy, with processing power that beats the desktop i9 14900k in single core benchmarks, which I find absolutely INSANE,
I agree with you 100%… iOS 18 offers nothing that will tax the M4 chip in my M4 iPad Pro and that makes me angry just like the M1 did I traded in for the M4 when it came out. The only reason I got the M4 was for the better display, that and it doubled my storage capacity too but it certainly wasn’t for any expectations that Apple would do the right thing. I got the new Pencil Pro and the keyboard too and am pleased with them, especially the Magic Keyboard (that is worth having) but it is an expensive setup. I certainly wouldn’t be returning it but I am disappointed that iOS 18 hasn’t been made to use the power available in this device.
Just curious of you draw on the tablet. Why don't you get a MacBook as the OS is much more powerful. Again, just a question and if you like that iPad that is fine for sure.
This is a great take on the current Apple situation. I really needed to hear this. I did upgrade as a trade-in from M1 Macbook Air to M3, and also decided to keep my iPad 10th Gen with 256GB. You are so correct in your view for the great majority of people. They want the new Pencil Pro but don't stop to really think about how often they actually really used the previous, same reason why I didn't go with the S24 Ultra, and went with the S24 Plus instead, I never used the S-Pen on my old Note devices. Defintely see the iPad Pro for professional artist or business people, but not so much for everyone else.
Yes, I rarely use an iPad over my MacBook so for me paying over $1000 for an iPad is insane. There are people who draw and do other things that can justify the cost but I'm not one of them until it comes out with a real OS that will justify the power.
Lmfao i just love how these youtubers come on here and complain i purchased 2 m4 11 inch ipads you all need to be patient software and full potential takes time
Yeah... Ok and it's just an opinion. Last time I checked that's free. Plus I like apple they just dropped ball on ipadOS . How much time do they need it's been 15 years
