Here you will find videos to help you breathe better.
PEP Buddy is a small, easy-to-use, hands-free, device held in the mouth. By breathing out through PEP Buddy, exhalation is prolonged, and the breathing rate slows. It provides a little back pressure (positive expiratory pressure). It helps reduce shortness of breath and improve oxygen levels in people with COPD. It can also be used for mindful breathing and stress management.

When I started experiencing more severe breathlessness I would panic and it would get worse and worse. After a very long time I realized I was hyperventilating from the panic, and pursed lip breathing will get me back into a regular breathing pattern quite quickly. I had to figure out everything on my own. I thought my lungs were shutting down. I had never seen anybody hyperventilate and never considered it a possibility. Was not told anything by Doctors, just given medication. These videos have prob been lifesaving. Certainly sanity saving. Using the diaphragm to breathe and nose breathing is very important too. If its hard to breathe through nose, press one nostril shut and do it that way as many breaths as possible.

This was very good. I don’t smoke, never have, and was diagnosed with stage 3 COPD…. The reg dr I had before this, always just gave me Prednisone & antibiotic maybe twice a month for 2 years. I had a constant horrible cough. That dr never had my lungs looked at or tested. So the diagnosis was a Shock to me, big shock. Now after this long, I’m Angry! I’m angry she missed it. I’m on oxygen and carry mobile oxy. Turns out I had asthma for years, all the pulmonologist told me, first & last visit? Was “well you don’t have asthma, you have COPD.” I didn’t even know what that stood for. She said nothing more. See, being this far along w it, I feel like I will die with it as w this, I have kidney disease & a heart valve leak. I didn’t know ANY of this til all the tests were done 3 years ago. I Am angry it’s me. My son had very bad asthma from age 1 to 25 I think. Nebulizer 3x a day; poor little kid. Will He too possibly get copd? I live alone, my husband passed 20 yrs ago. So I’m sad and angry. Sorry. Thx for listening.

Can you tell me Which Pep device will better help me? I see there’s different versions. I have ILD. PF and some PH. Thanks
@pepbuddy
@pepbuddy Месяц назад
For ILD, it might not help you with oxygen levels or shortness of breath. PEP buddy works well for COPD as there is flow limitation in COPD. It reduced shortness of breath and improves oxygen for most people with COPD. The reason why people get short of breath with ILD is different from COPD. But PEP buddy can help you with mindful breathing and stress reduction. Level 1 PEP buddy will be best to start.

Would this be useful for me I have very severe emphysema and find it extremely difficult doing any activities now I can just about walk approximately 5 metres I use an Aerobika as often as I can to help get the plegm up but on some days I just can’t blow into it all even in no 2 setting I have seen this advertised before but thought I was probably to far advanced now ? I don’t have oxygen as my levels are normally betwwwen 93/95 I’m also a co2 retainer I would definitely try one of theses if they help but the lady on the video was saying about playing tennis there is no way I can do any kind of exercise apart from just walking in my own house

PEP buddy is more helpful for people who are more breathless. In our clinical studies there were several people who were limited like you and they found it very helpful. So we do believe it will be helpful for you too. Three out of every four people (~75%) see an improvement in their breathlessness and quality of life with the use of PEP Buddy. It is possible that you would be the 1 in 4 who does not feel better with it. The only way to know is to try it. It takes a few days to know how best to use PEP Buddy in your day. On our store you will find two levels of PEP Buddy (level 1 and 2). Level 1 is easier to use and best for starters. Wishing you better breathing :)

I have an emergency medication kit - Z-pack regimen and PredniSONE regimen, which helps a great deal. But the thing I've noticed really help long-term is to get on the treadmill at the gym, I've got it to 1 hour with oxygen. The gym is my lifeline.

oxygen is a NON flammable gas. it is classed as an oxidizer. It WILL make ANY FIRE WORSE. it can be absorbed into clothing and will make them burn faster, hotter and more damaging.
